The Toronto Police Service requests the public's assistance identifying a man wanted in a Sexual Assault investigation.

On Saturday, June 20, 2020, at 5 a.m., police responded to a sexual assault in the Don Mills Road and Sheppard Avenue East area.

The Toronto Police Service requests the public’s assistance locating a missing man.

Nadarajah Mahendrarajah, 52, was last seen on Sunday, June 21, 2020 at 10 a.m., in Islington Avenue and Elmhurst Drive area.

He is described as 5'4", slim build, bald, clean shaven.

He was last seen wearing a blue shorts, blue sandals, and a dark long sleeve shirt.

Elopee, Queen Street West and Ossington Avenue area, Simon Shimout Napayok, 32

The Toronto Police Service requests the public's assistance locating an elopee.

Simon Shimout Napayok, was last seen on Monday, June 22, 2020, at approximately 10:45 a.m., in the Queen Street West and Ossington Avenue area.

He is described as 5’8", 180 lbs., short black hair, and clean shaven.

He was last seen wearing reading glasses, a black baseball hat, dark blue jeans, grey t-shirt, black Nike running shoes, and a white watch.

He is currently bound by a Form 49 "Warrant of Committal”.

In 2006 he was found Not Criminally Responsible for Assault with a Weapon.

If located, do not approach. Call 9-1-1 immediately.

An elopee is a person who is subject to detention at a psychiatric facility and is absent without leave.

A Warrant of Committal is issued by the Ontario Review Board when a person is found Not Criminally Responsible in court. The Warrant of Committal "Disposition of Detention" commits the person to the custody of a provincial psychiatric hospital and subjects them to abide by certain conditions.

The Toronto Police Service continues to request the public’s assistance locating a missing man.

Alexander Man, 46, was last seen on Friday, June 5, 2020, at 1 p.m., in the Queen Street West Jameson Avenue area.

He is described as 5'9", with grey short hair and a beard.

He was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, white t-shirt, faded blue jeans, black runners with white soles, and he may be walking with a limp.

1. two counts of Assault

He appeared in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at 10 a.m., room 204.

Homicide #33/2020, 1346 St. Clair Avenue West, Farogh Sadat, 37

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a homicide investigation.

On Friday, June 19, 2020, at approximately 11:39 a.m., the Toronto Police Service received a call for a shooting at 1346 St. Clair Avenue West, Toronto.

It is reported that:

- officers arrived on scene and located a man with numerous gunshot wounds inside a vehicle

- Toronto Paramedic Services attended but the man succumbed to his injuries

The man has been identified as Farogh Sadat, 37, of British Columbia.

Police would like to thank those who have already come forward with information.

Investigators continue to urge anyone who was driving with a dash cam, or anyone who observed anything out of the ordinary, near 1346 St. Clair Avenue West between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2020, to contact police.

Assault with a Weapon Investigation, Image released of suspect vehicle

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a vehicle of interest as part of an assault with a weapon investigation.

At approximately 6:10 a.m., on Tuesday, June 23, 2020, police received a report of unknown trouble in the Keele Street and Falstaff Avenue area.

It is reported:

- a man was in a white 2019 Toyota Rav4

- he was shouting and assaulting an unidentified passenger in the back seat

- when officers arrived, the vehicle fled

- the vehicle was last seen heading northbound on Keele Street approaching the 401

- the front licence plate had a tinted cover obscuring the view but it is believed the last known plates on the vehicle are Ontario #CBCL 722

The suspect is described as a white man, clean shaven, approximately 30 years of age. He was wearing a blue t-shirt, grey track pants, and a baseball hat.

An image of the vehicle officers want to locate has been released.

If anyone sees the vehicle, do not approach it. Call police immediately on 9-1-1.

Arrest made in Threatening Investigation, Man faces seven charges

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest made.

On Saturday, June 20, 2020, at 2 p.m., the Toronto Police Service received a call for a threatening which had occurred in North York.

It is alleged that:

- a man had threatened to kill multiple people

On Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at 7 a.m., Jason Atis, 23, of no fixed address, surrendered to police at 32 Division. He was arrested and charged with:

1) Mischief Under $5000
2) Unlawfully in a Dwelling
3) Five counts of Threatening

He is scheduled to appear in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West, on Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at 10 a.m., room 306.

Sexual Assault Alert, Believed that all four incidents were committed by the same man, Security Camera Images Released

The Toronto Police Service is alerting the public to a new sexual assault investigation and is requesting the public's assistance identifying the man and any possible witnesses.

A release was issued on Friday, May 29, 2020, at 10:02 a.m. stating:

On Saturday, May 23, 2020, at 11 p.m., officers responded to two separate radio calls for a sexual assault in the Bay Street and College Street area.

It was reported that:

- a 25-year-old woman was walking eastbound on College Street at Bay Street

- she was approached by a man

- the man sexually assaulted her then fled the area

It was further reported:

- a 24-year-old woman was walking eastbound on Grenville Street at Bay Street

- she was approached by a man

- the man sexually assaulted her then fled the area

The man is described as Asian, in his 20s, approximately 5'10", with short black hair. He was wearing a grey fitted puffy jacked, blue jeans and white shoes.

Another release was issued on Sunday, June 14, 2020, at 7 p.m. stating:

On Thursday, June 11, 2020, at 9:20 a.m., police responded to a sexual assault in the Yonge Street and Gerrard Street West area.

It was reported that:

- a woman was walking on the west side of Yonge Street near Gerrard Street West

- the woman was approached by a man

- he sexually assaulted her, then fled the area

The man is described as Asian, 5'10", in his 20s, with short black hair, and big lips. He was wearing a light blue jacket, blue jeans, and white shoes.

On Sunday, June 14, 2020, at 12:30 a.m., police responded to a sexual assault in the Bay Street and Wellesley Street West area.

It is reported that:

- on Saturday, June 13, 2020, at approximately 11:30 p.m., a 21-year-old woman was walking eastbound on Wellesley Street near Bay Street

- an unknown man walking westbound passed the woman, then turned around and approached the woman from behind

- he sexually assaulted the woman and then fled on foot toward Queen's Park

It is believed that all four incidents were committed by the same man.

Assault with a Weapon Investigation, Image released of suspect vehicle, Update, Suspect vehicle located in Durham region, Second vehicle sought

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a second vehicle of interest as part of an assault with a weapon investigation.

At approximately 6:10 a.m., on Tuesday, June 23, 2020, police received a report of unknown trouble in the Keele Street and Falstaff Avenue area.

The 2019 Toyota Rav4 was located on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at approximately 8:45 p.m., in Oshawa. It is believed the driver of the 2019 Toyota Rav4 then stole a white 2014 Honda Civic with Ontario licence plate CAZK612. The vehicle left in an unknown direction.

Durham Regional Police Service is now assisting in this investigation.

Man arrested for nine Break & Enters, David Correia, 44,

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest made in several break and enter investigations.

Between Friday, June 5, 2020 and Monday, June 8, 2020, a man would attend commercial businesses in the Dundas Street West and Gladstone Avenue area.

It is alleged:

- the man would remove the locking mechanism and gain entry

- on Monday, June 22, 2020, investigators from 14 Division's Major Crime Unit identified the man

- a search warrant was executed at a home address and property was recovered

On Monday, June 22, 2020, David Correia, 44, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1. five counts of Break and Enter commit
2. four counts of Break and Enter
3. five counts of Fail to comply with release order

He is to appear in court at Old City Hall on Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at 10 am.

Public Safety Alert, Service Ontario and Toronto Police Service Bitcoin Fraud, 55 Division

The Toronto Police Service is warning the public of an ongoing scam that is related to Service Ontario, the Toronto Police Service and Bitcoin ATMs.

It has been reported:

- on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at 11:30 a.m. a person posing as a representative from Service Ontario called the victim

- the caller advised the victim that their SIN number had been compromised and used in fraudulent criminal activity

- the caller asked the victim for the local police phone number

- a short time later, the victim received a call from a person posing as a police officer from 55 Division. The caller continued the story of fraudulent activity and advised the victim to deposit money to a specific Bitcoin ATM

- the person or people, who participated in this fraud, were able to spoof the telephone number for 55 Division (416-808-5500) on the victim's caller ID

The Toronto Police Service is reminding the public to be vigilant, especially in these times of uncertainty. Government agencies will not ask the public to deposit money using Bitcoin machines.

Child Pornography Investigation, Man faces multiple charges, Daniel Wight, 25

On Tuesday, June 23, 2020, members of the Toronto Police Service - Child Exploitation Section executed a search warrant in the Ellesmere Avenue and Birchmount Road area.

It is alleged that:

- a man was in possession of, and accessed, child pornography

Daniel Wight, 25, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

1. Possess child pornography
2. Access child pornography
3. Make Available child pornography

He is scheduled to appear at court via video at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East, on Thursday June 25, 2020, at 10 a.m., room 412.

Two men arrested in "advance fee scheme" fraud investigation, Police believe there may be more victims, Update following further investigation

The Toronto Police Service Financial Crimes Unit would like to advise the public of arrests made in an "advance fee scheme" fraud investigation.

Investigators are appealing to potential victims to come forward and speak to police.

An advance fee scheme occurs when victims are convinced into making advance or up-front payments for goods, services and/or financial gains that never materialize.

It is alleged:

- men purported to be from a law firm settling a class action lawsuit against alleged fraudulent precious gem brokers

- the men contacted victims who were believed to have been defrauded after investing in diamonds and gemstones

- the men promised large cash settlements from a lawsuit provided the victims first paid "attorney fees" in advance of receiving any payouts

- the information given to victims about the class action lawsuit settlement was false

- to date, the combined loss suffered by the victims is approximately $600,000

- the men used the following aliases while pretending to represent Ardern & Bennett LLP and Premier Credit Union:

Paul Bennett
David Ardern
James Greenstein
James Adelman

It is further alleged:

- police executed search warrants, and the evidence seized during these warrants has lead investigators to believe there may be additional victims

On Tuesday, May 12, 2020, Erik Ariel Fishman, 40, of Vaughan, was arrested. He was charged with:

1. two counts of Possession of Proceeds of Crime Over $5000

He is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall, on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 in room 111.


On Tuesday, May 12, 2020, Joseph Simon Rassi, 32, of Aurora, was arrested. He was charged with:

1. two counts of Fraud Over $5000
2. two counts of Conspiracy to Commit and Indictable Offence Over $5000

He is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall, on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 in room 111.


Shortly after the arrests, the Toronto Police Service received a number of complaints regarding another law firm, Caldwell & Stephens LLP, based in the City of Toronto.

It is reported:

- individuals purported to be from the law firm settling a class action lawsuit against fraudulent diamond and precious gem brokers

- an investigation commenced and it was revealed the law firm did not exist

- individuals listed as legal representatives of the firm on the company website are aliases being used by perpetrators of this scheme

- the class action lawsuit settlement mentioned by representatives did not exist


The Toronto Police Service would like to warn the public not to send any personal information, money, or valuables to representatives purporting to be from Caldwell & Stephens LLP.

Suspect Sought in Sexual Assault Investigation, Woodbine Park, Images Released

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in a sexual assault investigation.

On Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at approximately 5.30 p.m., police responded to a call for a sexual assault.

It is reported that:

- a woman, 70, was walking in Woodbine Park between the hours of 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., when she was approached by the suspect and was sexually assaulted

The suspect is described as a man, in his mid 20s, with long black curly hair, black facial hair, medium build and approximately 6’2”. He was wearing dark clothing, black running shoes and was riding a dark bicycle.

Images have been released.

Investigators want to identify the suspect and are asking anyone with any information to contact police.

The Toronto Police Service is alerting the public to an ongoing sexual assault investigation in the George Hislop Park, Yonge Street and Isabella Street area.

It is alleged that:

- on Monday, June 22, 2020, at approximately 5 a.m., a 28-year-old woman was in the park

- she was sexually assaulted by a man

On Wednesday, June 24, 2020, Hatim Zedan, 34, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

1. Sexual Assault
2. Fail to Comply Probation

He is scheduled to appear at court at College Park, on Thursday, June 25, 2020.
