Missing boy located, 139 Armour Boulevard - Summit Heights Public School, Anderson Joseph Black, 9

The Toronto Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance locating a missing boy.

Anderson Joseph Black, 9, was last seen on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at 10:45 a.m., in the area of 139 Armour Boulevard, Summit Heights Public School.

Man arrested for two Bank Robberies in the Toronto and Barrie area

The Toronto Police Service Hold Up Squad would like to make the public aware of a man arrested in relation to two bank robberies that occurred in the Toronto and Barrie area.

It is alleged that:

- on Monday, February 10, 2020, a bank robbery was committed in Barrie

- a man entered the bank while concealing his identity with an orange 'medical' mask

- he handed the teller a note demanding cash and indicating that he had a firearm, however no weapons were seen

- he took approximately $2,000 in cash

- he was then observed fleeing the area on foot as he discarded several articles of clothing


It is further alleged that:

- on Thursday, February 20, 2020, a bank robbery was committed in Toronto

- a man entered the bank while concealing his identity with a black scarf

- he handed the teller a note demanding cash

- he took approximately $900 in cash

- he was then observed fleeing the area on foot


Barrie Police were assisted by the Toronto Hold Up Squad investigators in identifying the suspect. Officers were then able to locate and arrest a man.

It is further alleged that:

- officers recovered property and clothing related to both robberies

Jeffery Murdock, 40, of Toronto, was charged with:

1. two counts of Robbery
2. two counts of Disguise with Intent

He appeared for a Bail Hearing on Monday, March 2, 2020, at the Barrie Courthouse.

Missing Man located, Yonge Street and Finch Avenue, Eli Alexander Hannah-Benshushan, 23

The Toronto Police would like to thank the public for their assistance in locating a missing man.

Eli Alexander Hannah-Benshushan, 23, was last seen on Monday, February 24, 2020, at 11:00 am in the Yonge Street and Finch Avenue area.

Missing boy, Amir Khan, 15, Midland Avenue and Lawrence Ave East area

The Toronto Police Service requests the public’s assistance locating a missing boy.

Amir Khan, 15, was last seen on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at approximately 10 a.m., in the Midland Avenue and Lawrence Avenue East area.

He is described as 5'4", and 130 lbs.

He was last seen wearing a dark winter coat, black jeans, and black running shoes.

Police are concerned for his safety.

East Collision Reporting Centre, 39 Howden Road, Closed

The East Collision Reporting Centre, 39 Howden Road, remains closed until further notice.

Please attend the North Collision Reporting Centre (CRC), 113 Toryork Drive, which is open daily until midnight.

Any collision where the vehicle can no longer be driven, will be taken to the North CRC.

The Service's North CRC is receiving a higher volume of queries than usual.

North Collision Reporting Centre investigation, 113 Toryork Drive

The Toronto Police Service is investigating an arson at a Toronto Collision Reporting Centre.


It was reported that:

- on Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at 6 a.m., police at the North Collision Reporting Centre at 113 Toryork Drive, noticed a smashed window on the building

- an object doused with an accelerant was inside

- the fire did not ignite


A separate incident occurred at the East Collision Reporting Centre, 39 Howden Road.

East Collision Reporting Centre investigation, 39 Howden Road

The Toronto Police Service is investigating an arson at a Toronto Collision Reporting Centre.

It is reported that:

- on Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at 12:57 a.m., police received a call for an alarm activation at the East Collision Reporting Centre, 39 Howden Road

- on arrival, officers discovered a fire

- several glass doors were smashed, and gas was poured inside and ignited

- the fire was contained to the lobby area

- carpet and flooring were burned but there was no structural damage to the building itself


A separate incident occurred at the North Collision Reporting Centre at 113 Toryork Drive.

The Toronto Police Service requests the public’s assistance locating a missing boy.

Christopher Cummings, 17, was last seen on Friday, February 28, 2020, at approximately 1 p.m., in the Eglinton Avenue West and Caledonia Road area.

He is described as 5'2", 120 lbs., slim build, shaved head, and green eyes.

He was last seen wearing a grey jacket, and white running shoes.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Traffic Disruption, Queen's Park Crescent from Bloor Street West to College Street

On Thursday, March 5, 2020, a rally will take place at Queen's Park.

There will be traffic disruption in the area and potential road closures.

The event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at 1 p.m.


The following roadways could be impacted by 9:30 a.m.:

- Queen's Park Crescent, from Bloor Street West to College Street


Motorists may experience traffic delays and are advised to plan alternate routes.

This event will proceed regardless of weather conditions.

Arrest in Sexual Assault investigation, John Vialva, 61

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a Sexual Assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

- on Friday, June 22, 2018, a clinical aid sexually assaulted a 62-year-old woman who was a patient at St. Michael’s Hospital

It is further alleged that:

- between Friday, May 10, 2019 and Sunday, September 1, 2019 a clinical aid sexually assaulted a 52-year-old woman patient at St. Michael’s Hospital

On Wednesday, March 4, 2020, John Vialva, 61, of Toronto, surrendered to police. He was arrested and charged with:

1. three counts of Sexual Assault

He is scheduled to appear in court at College Park Courts on Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at 10 a.m.

John Vialva worked as a clinical aid at St. Michael's Hospital from 2016 until December, 2019. Prior to that he worked in the Palliative Care unit, also at St. Michael’s.

Abduction, Jane Street and Driftwood Avenue, Shammah Jolayemi, 14

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a 14-year-old boy who officers believe may have been abducted.

Shammah Jolayemi, 14, was last seen on Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at 8:25 a.m., in the Jane Street and Driftwood Avenue area.

It is reported:

- a vehicle of interest was seen in the Jane Street and Driftwood Avenue area around the same time the boy was last seen

- the vehicle is described as dark coloured, possibly a black Jeep Wrangler with oversized tires, a front-mounted brush bar and round fog lights

Shammah is described as 5’11” to 6’ tall, slim build, with short dark brown hair.
He was last seen wearing a grey hooded sweater, grey track pants with a thin orange stripe on the pants, a shiny black puffy winter coat, black and yellow air Jordan shoes and may have been carrying a red and black Adidas back pack.

Police are extremely concerned for his safety and urge anyone who recognizes him, or has any information about his whereabouts, to contact officers.

Officers also want to speak to the boy’s step-brother Olalekan Osikoya and encourage him to contact police.

An Amber Alert has been issued to help find a 14-year-old boy who officers believe may have been abducted.

Shammah Jolayemi, 14, was last seen on Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at 8:25 a.m., in the Jane Street and Driftwood Avenue area.

It is reported:

Media advisory, Thursday, March 5, 2020, 3 p.m., Ryerson University, Pittman Residence Courtyard – 160 Mutual Street, Toronto Police Service participates in Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Ontario

On Thursday, March 5, 2020, at 3 p.m., members of the Toronto Police Service will participate in their fourth Annual Polar Plunge in support of Special Olympics Ontario.

Joined by other police services, law enforcement partners, members of the public and athletes from the Special Olympics, members of the Service will take the plunge at Ryerson University at Pittman Hall Residence Courtyard - 160 Mutual Street.

As supporters of the Special Olympics for the last 33 years, as original organizers and participants in the Law Enforcement Torch Run, the Polar Plunge is the next fundraising step for the Toronto Police Service family.

Check-in for participants will be at 2 p.m., with opening ceremonies, including remarks from Chief Mark Saunders, starting at 3 p.m. The plunge takes place at 3 p.m. in a provided outdoor swimming pool.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a missing man.

Moin Chowdhury, 34, was last seen on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, in the Gerrard Street and River Street area.

He is described as 6'1", 210 lbs., with short brown hair, brown eyes, and unshaven.

He was last seen wearing blue jeans, black sweater, black winter coat, black grey boots.

He may be driving a 2011 Honda CRV with license CBMD142.

Assault causing Bodily Harm Investigation, Bloor Street West and Christie Street, Police want to identify man

The Toronto Police Service requests the public’s assistance identifying a man as par of an assault causing bodily harm investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Saturday, October 5, 2019, at approximately 2:50 a.m., in the area of Bloor Street West and Christie Street, a 22-year-old man was assaulted

- he sustained a head injury that required medical attention

The suspect is described as Asian, 5'5", approximately 25, muscular build, hair slicked to the back with a ponytail. He was wearing a white and black Adidas jacket, light colored pants, black running shoes with white trim.

Sexual Assault Alert, Man Wanted, Zenon Klein-Oram, 31

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance locating a man wanted in a sexual assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

- on Monday, February 3rd, 2020, an 18-year-old woman met a man near
8700 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill.

- the man befriended the female and later, sexually assaulted her

- multiple sexual assaults occurred at different locations over an extended time period.

As part of the investigation, Zenon Klein-Oram, 31, is wanted by police.

He is described as 5'09", 205 lbs. with numerous tattoos on his hands and arms.
