The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a missing man.

Tyrone Ross, 22, was last seen Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 10:45 a.m. in the Wellesley Street East and Church Street area.

He is described as 5’7”, and 140 lbs.

He was last seen wearing a blue jacket with a Toronto Maple Leaf logo on the front, and dark pants.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Police request assistance with an assault investigation, Queen Street West and Beaty Avenue

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance with an assault investigation.

On Saturday, February 8, 2020, at 11:00 a.m, the Toronto Police Service received a call for an Assault in the Queen Street West and Beaty Avenue area.

It is reported that:

- A male suspect entered the Parkdale Food Bank and refused to leave when asked.
- The male got in a verbal argument with the staff and then assaulted multiple employees.

He is described as approximately 5’8”, 140 lbs, with short black hair.

She is described as 5’1”, 135 lbs, with brown eyes and last seen wearing a black or white hijab, a long black dress, a maroon coloured winter jacket with a black fur trim hood and carrying a large grey purse.

Police seek the public's assistance in identifying suspects in stabbing investigation, College Street and Manning Avenue area

The Toronto Police Service is seeking public’s assistance in identifying multiple suspects in an aggravated assault investigation.

On Saturday February 22, 2020 at approximately 3:10 a.m. in the College Street and Manning Avenue area, a man was involved in an altercation and was stabbed multiple times.

The victim sustained serious injuries.

There are no suspect descriptions at this time.

Residents in the area are asked to check home security cameras or video doorbell footage for any activity that would assist the investigation.

Philip Henriques, 88, was last seen on Friday February 21, 2020 at 1:00 p.m., in the Victoria Park Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East area.

He is described as 6’ tall, 155 lbs., thin build, with balding curly grey hair, brown eyes and a moustache. He was last seen wearing a grey toque, a navy parka, grey pants, brown winter shoes and either black or blue gloves.

Woman wanted for assaulting police, Keele Street and 401 Highway area, Nina Laxamana, 37

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a woman in relation to an assault investigation.

On Friday, February 21, 2020, at approximately 11:30 p.m. in the Keele Street and 401 Highway area, a woman was involved in an altercation with police after she was found in what police allege was a stolen vehicle.

The woman has been identified as Nina Laxamana, 37, and is wanted for:

1. Assaulting police officer with a weapon
2. Fail to stop at the scene of an accident
3. Possession of property obtained by crime
4. Dangerous operation of a conveyance
5. Fail to comply with an undertaking x2

She is described as approximately 5’4, 145 lbs and was last seen wearing a beige coat.

Homicide #11 in 2020 Accused turned himself in to 42 Division, First-Degree Murder Charge Laid Sheppard Ave East and Markham Road

On Friday, February 21, 2020 the Toronto Police Service received multiple calls for a possible medical complaint at Sheppard Avenue East near Markham Road

It is reported that:

The victim, a woman, was walking eastbound along Sheppard Avenue East near Markham Road when she was attacked by a man armed with a hammer. She succumbed to her injuries.

The victim has been identified as Hang-Kam Annie Chiu, age 64, of Scarborough.

The accused, Saad Akhtar, age 30, of Scarborough, turned himself in at 42 Division. He was charged with:

1) First-Degree Murder

He made his first appearance at Old City Hall Courts on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 10:00 am.

The investigation is continuing.

On Monday, February 25, 2019, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., “Coffee with a Cop” event will take place at Starbucks at 224 Wellington Street West.

Officers will attend and sit down with community members in an informal and neutral space to discuss community issues, build relationships and drink coffee.

This event is relaxed, informal and open for discussions about the issues community residents feel are important. Attendees of this event will enjoy a free small hot brewed coffee.

"Coffee with a Cop" breaks down barriers and allows for a relaxed, one-on-one interaction. The program aims to advance the practice of community policing through improving relationships between police officers and community members one cup of coffee at a time.
