The Toronto Police Service requests the public’s assistance locating a missing man.

Carlos Gaspar, 45, was last seen on Thursday, February 13, 2020, at 9 p.m., in the College Street and Ossington Avenue area.

He is described as 5’10”, 180 lbs., with shaved brown hair. His clothing description is unknown at this time.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Fatal Collision 5/2020, Victoria Park Avenue and Old Sheppard Avenue

On Sunday, February 23, 2020, at 5:10 p.m., police received a report of a pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle at Victoria Park Avenue and Old Sheppard Avenue.

It is reported that:

- a 79-year-old woman was crossing Victoria Park Avenue at Old Sheppard Avenue, from the west to the east side of the street

- a 57-year-old woman was driving a brown Lexus RX350 SUV westbound on Huntingwood Drive, before making a left turn southbound on Victoria Park Avenue

- the SUV struck the pedestrian

- the driver remained at the scene

- the pedestrian died from her injuries

The investigation is ongoing by Traffic Services.

Police are asking local residents, businesses, and drivers, who may have security or dash camera footage of the area or incident, to contact investigators.

Personal Injury Collision #7/2020, Don Mills Road and Lawrence Avenue East

On Sunday, February 23, 2020, at 7:07 a.m., police received a report of a serious collision at Don Mills Road and Lawrence Avenue East.

It is reported that:

-a 49-year-old man was driving a blue Mazda 3 southbound on Don Mills Road, approaching Lawrence Avenue East

- a 26-year-old woman was driving a black Chevrolet Cruze eastbound on Lawrence Avenue East, approaching Don Mills Road

- the Mazda 3 entered the intersection, against a red traffic signal and struck the Chevrolet Cruze. The driver was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries

- the driver of the Chevrolet Cruze suffered minor injuries

The investigation is ongoing by members of Traffic Services.

Police are asking local residents, businesses, and drivers, who may have security or dash camera footage of the area or incident, to contact investigators.

Liam Nicholson, 17, was last seen on Wednesday, February 19, 2020, at 8:30 a.m., in the Finch Avenue East and Don Mills Road area.

He is described as 5'9", 106 lbs., with a thin build, black short hair, and brown eyes. He was wearing all black clothing with a Canadian flag on his pants, and black and white 'Nike' shoes.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Kye Andreopoulos, 27, was last seen on Monday, February 24, 2020, at 08:30 a.m., in the Yonge Street and Finch Avenue area.

He is described as 5’9”, with collar-length wavy dirty blond hair, and a beard. He was last seen wearing an over-sized black winter coat with brown fur trim, and shorts.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Luring and Child Pornography Investigation, Nicholas Cooper, 40,

On Wednesday, April 3, 2019, members of the Toronto Police Service Sex Crimes – Child Exploitation Section, executed a search warrant in the Gerrard Street East and Broadview Avenue area.

It is alleged that:

- a man chatted sexually online via a social media application with a 13-year-old child

- during the chat, the man made available sexually explicit material to the child

- the man also chatted online via a social media application with an adult. The man made, distributed, possessed and accessed child sexual abuse material

- the man used the online identity of "Megan Ainsley Cole", "nicojaylass" and "lucanhayder"

On Friday, February 21, 2020, Nicholas Cooper, 40, of Aurora, has been charged with:

1. Luring a Child
2. Make Available Sexually Explicit Material to a Child
3. seven counts of Make Child Pornography
4. seven counts of Distribution of Child Pornography
5. two counts of Possession of Child Pornography
6. two counts of Access Child Pornography

He is to appear in court at Old City Hall on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at 10 a.m.

Man arrested for two retail robberies, Michael Bonanno, 27, faces four counts

The Toronto Police Service Hold Up Squad would like to make the public aware of an arrest made in relation to two retail robberies.

It is alleged that:

- on Saturday, February 8, 2020, and Saturday, February 15, 2020, a man entered a retail store, approached the checkout counter, and made a threatening demand for cash

- the man then gained access to the cash register and removed a quantity of cash before fleeing on foot

Following an investigation, on Monday, February 25, 2020, the Hold Up Squad identified and arrested Michael Bonanno, 27, of Toronto.

He is charged with:

1) two counts of Robbery
2) two counts of Fail to Comply with Release Order

He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, February 25, 2020, at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East, in courtroom 412, at 10 a.m.

Homicide #12/2020, Dufferin Street and Wilson Avenue, Ashley Noell Arzaga, 24

On Monday, February 24, 2020, at 12:40 p.m., police responded to a call for a stabbing in the Dufferin Street and Wilson Avenue area.

It is reported that:

- upon arrival, officers located a man and woman suffering from multiple stab wounds outside the premises

- inside, police located a woman who was pronounced deceased at the scene.

She has been identified as Ashley Noell Arzaga, 24, of Toronto.

On Monday, February 24, 2020, a 17-year-old boy, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1. First Degree Murder
2. Attempted Murder

He is to appear in court, at 2001 Finch Avenue West, on Tuesday, February 25, 2020, at 10 a.m.

Assault Cause Bodily Harm Investigation, Dixon Road and Carlingview Drive Person for Identification,

The Toronto Police Service requests the public’s assistance in identifying a man as part of an Assault Cause Bodily Harm investigation.

On Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at 11:14 p.m., officers responded to a call for a stabbing at a sandwich shop in the area of Dixon Road and Carlingview Drive.

It is reported:

- an employee was attacked by a man with a knife
- he was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries

It is further reported:

- on Sunday, January 12, 2020, the same man had a verbal altercation with the victim inside the restaurant

The suspect is described as black, 45-50, 5’8” to 5’9”, large build, and clean shaven. On the day of the assault the suspect was wearing a red jacket, black hooded sweater with the hood worn up, dark track pants and sunglasses.

Images have been released of a man police want to identify as part of the investigation.

Public Safety Alert, Fraud Investigation Targeting Seniors in Polish Community,

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an ongoing fraud investigation targeting seniors in the Polish community.

It is reported:

- calls are made by a woman purporting to be the police

- the caller can speak in both English and Polish

- she provides a false reason for the call and demands the victim collect their money, valuables, jewellery and place them into a bag

- the victim is then instructed to place the bag outside their front porch or throw the bag out the window


The Service would like to remind the public that the police would never call demanding money, valuables or jewellery under any circumstance.

If you receive a call from a person claiming to be from the police, and making demands - hang up the phone. Please make a notation of the time, date and the conversation. Report this to your local police service immediately.

Sexual Assault Alert, Soren Le Goff, 23, charged with two counts, Police concerned there may be more victims

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a Sexual Assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

- on Friday, January 24, 2020, a man and a woman were at a bar in the Danforth Avenue and Coxwell Avenue area having drinks

- during the night, the man sexually assaulted the woman twice

On Thursday, February 20, 2020, the woman reported the sexual assault to police.

On Wednesday, February 26, 2020, the man surrendered to police.

Soren Le Goff, 23, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) two counts of Sexual Assault

He appeared in court on Wednesday, February 26, 2020, at College Park Court, in courtroom 501, at 10 a.m.

Police are concerned there may be other victims.
