The Toronto Police Service is requesting assistance locating a missing man.

Chen Puah, 18, was last seen on Friday November 24, 2017, at 12 p.m., in the Victoria Park Avenue and Lawrence Avenue East area.

He is described as 6', approximately 200 lbs, short black hair. He was last seen wearing a navy long-sleeve shirt, grey pants, knee-length black winter jacket with fur-trimmed hood.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Public Safety Alert, Assistance sought with Fraud Over $5000 and Impersonation of Police Officer investigation

The Toronto Police Service is requesting assistance with an ongoing Fraud over $5000 and Impersonation of a Police Officer investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Saturday, November 25, 2017, a woman, 20, reported to police she had been defrauded over the telephone

- she had received a phone call from a person claiming to be a Toronto police officer from what appeared to be a police-related phone number (416-808-2222)

- she was told that she was wanted on several warrants and was instructed to send a large sum of money via Western Union to cover legal fees

- she was later instructed to send an additional sum of money via Western Union and to purchase iTunes gift cards to cover additional legal fees

The Toronto Police Service does not ask for money to be sent, whether by Western Union or similar businesses, or to purchase any gift cards.

Assistance sought identifying male Person of Interest in collision investigation, Sentinel Road and Murray Ross Parkway area, Security camera images of man released

Members of Traffic Services Hit-and-Run Unit are seeking assistance with an investigation into a collision which occurred on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at 9:25 p.m., in the Sentinel Road and Murray Ross Parkway area.

It is reported that:

- a woman was walking northbound on Sentinel Road, crossing Murray Ross Parkway on a green signal, at the west crosswalk

- a black vehicle was travelling northbound on Sentinel Road, then turned left at Murray Ross Parkway and struck the woman

- the male driver stopped and spoke with the woman, then drove her to a local hospital

- he assisted her in getting inside the hospital, then said that he was going to park his vehicle but never returned

Police attended, spoke with the woman, and were able to obtain security camera footage from the hospital.

The male driver is described as 40-50, medium build, bald/shaved hair, grey short beard.

The vehicle is described as a newer-model, four-door, black Honda Civic.

Police are asking for the public to review the attached security camera images. Ariana Suppa, 16, was last seen on Monday, November 27, 2017, at 10 a.m., in The Queensway and Roncesvalles Avenue area.

She is described as 5’5”, medium build, brown/blondish shoulder-length hair. She was last seen wearing blue pants, bright red jacket.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Homicide #54/2017, David Blacquiere, 54, Weston Road and Lawrence Avenue West area, Update, Man, 24, surrenders to police, faces three charges

The Toronto Police Service would like to update the public on an arrest in the investigation into Homicide #54/2017.

On Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at 11:52 a.m., police responded to a stabbing in the Weston Road and Lawrence Avenue West area.

On Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at 6 a.m., Demetrius McFarquhar, 24, surrendered to police at 12 Division. He has been charged with:

1) Accessory After the Fact To Murder
2) Attempting to Obstruct Justice
3) Fail to Comply Recognizance

He is scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, 10 a.m., room 204.

Fernando Faria, 78, was last seen on Monday, November 27, 2017, at 4:10 p.m., in the Dundas Street West and Ossington Avenue area.

He is described as 5’7”, 175 lbs., short grey thinning hair, brown eyes, glasses. He was last seen wearing grey pants, black hooded jacket, grey running shoes. He was also wearing a medical alert bracelet.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Two arrested in ongoing international Human Trafficking investigation, Project Betrayal, Man and woman face 15 charges, Photographs of man and woman released

In February 2017, members of the Toronto Police Service Human Trafficking Enforcement Team started an ongoing international Human Trafficking investigation.

It is alleged that:

- in May 2016, the victim travelled to Toronto for a job as a receptionist

- the victim met with both accused in Toronto about the receptionist job, however she was offered a job in a massage parlour as a masseuse because the receptionist job was no longer available

- the victim was coerced into selling sexual services while performing massages

- her passport was taken from her

- these sexual services were advertised on backpages.com.

- the two accused were able to convince the victim to turn over all the money she earned to them for safekeeping

- the victim confronted the two accused and was violently choked and assaulted

On Thursday, October 19, 2017, members of the Human Trafficking Enforcement Team executed search warrants at several locations in Toronto. Officers also located documents including, allegedly, the victim’s passport.

Sonia Fernandes-DaCunha, 40, of Toronto, was charged with:

1) Trafficking in Persons
2) Procuring/Exercising Control
3) Financial/Material Benefit
4) Material Benefit from Sexual Services
5) Withholding Documents
6) Advertising Another Person’s Sexual Services
7) Possession of Proceeds of Crime
8) Laundering Proceeds of Crime
9) Forcible Confinement
10) Assault with a Weapon


Ruben Ernesto Aburto Soza, 40, of Toronto, was charged with:

1) Trafficking in Persons
2) Financial/Material Benefit
3) Material Benefit from Sexual Services
4) Withholding Documents
5) Laundering Proceeds of Crime

Sonia Fernandes-DaCunha and Ruben Soza appeared in court at College Park on Friday, October 20, 2017, room 507.

Police would like to encourage all affected individuals to come forward and report Human Trafficking occurrences to police. We want to make sure that everyone has access to support services and an exit strategy, regardless of their decision to proceed criminally.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting assistance locating a missing girl.

Mikayla Bailey, 12, was last seen on Monday November 27, 2017, at 10:30 a.m., in the Bathurst Street and Dundas Street West area.

She is described as 5’7”, brown hair with bleached tips, heavy build. She was last seen wearing a puffy light-blue jacket, ripped black jeans, black sweater, blue-and-silver backpack.

Police are concerned for her safety.

He is described as 5’9”, slim build, short grey/black hair, clean-shaven, sometimes wears glasses for reading. He was last seen wearing a dark-blue winter jacket, green-and-black button-up plaid shirt, grey flannel pants.

Police are concerned for his safety.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting assistance locating a wanted man.

It is alleged that:

- on Sunday, November 26, 2017, a woman, 79, was assaulted several times by a man in her home in the Dundas Street West and Dufferin Street area

- on Monday, August 28, 2017, a man, 79, was assaulted in his home, resulting in a fracture to his hip, in the Dundas Street West and Dufferin Street area

David Alves, 26, of Toronto, is wanted for:

1) three counts of Assault
2) Assault causing Bodily Harm
3) Uttering Threats

He is described as 5'6", thin build, short brown hair, goatee, rosary tattoo beside a portrait of Jesus on his right forearm, last seen wearing a snap-back baseball cap, blue jeans, carrying backpack.

Michael Adam Lemke, 33, wanted in ongoing apartment Fraud investigation, Photograph of man released

The Toronto Police Service is seeking assistance locating a man wanted in an investigation into multiple counts of Fraud.

It is alleged that:

- the man rented a condo in Toronto, then posted an online advertisement offering a room within his unit for rent

- multiple prospective tenants responded to the advertisement and transferred money to the man on the assumption that the room was their's to rent

- once the deposit was received, the man would stop communicating with the prospective tenants

- in a few instances, a partial reimbursement was sent back to the "renters" upon their demand, however the man issued various excuses as to why he was unable to issue a full repayment

- the man would often use his real name but, in some instances, he used an alias

- the man has been identified as Michael Adam Lemke, 33, of Toronto

- he also used the names Michael Krug, or Mike Lemke

His photograph has been released.

Man, 58, charged in bank robbery investigation, Burnhamthorpe Road and Renforth Drive area, Toronto and British Columbia

Toronto Police Service Hold Up would like to make the public aware of an arrest and charges laid for a bank robbery.

It is alleged that:

- on Thursday, November 23, 2017, at 3 p.m., a man entered a bank near Burnhamthorpe Road and Renforth Drive

- the man approached the customer service kiosk and placed a shopping bag in front of the teller

- the man displayed a firearm, pointed it at the victim, then made a demand for cash

- he received a quantity of money and fled

- police attended the area and the man was arrested nearby

- the man was also wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant for bank robberies in British Columbia

On Thursday, November 23, 2017, Brian Kavanagh, 59, of no fixed address, was charged with:

1) Robbery
2) Use Imitation Firearm
3) Point Firearm
4) Theft Under

He is scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, 10 a.m. , room 205.

Man, 26, arrested for two sandwich shop robberies, Faces eight charges

Toronto Police Service Hold Up would like to make the public aware of an arrest and charges laid for two retail robberies.

It is alleged that:

- on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at 1:45 a.m., a man entered a sandwich shop near Queen Street West and Bathurst Street

- the man was displaying a large knife

- he demanded cash from the person working behind the counter

- he obtained cash and fled

It is further alleged that:

- on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at 5:45 a.m., a man attended a sandwich shop in the Danforth Avenue and Coxwell Avenue area

- the man was armed with a large knife concealed under his winter jacket

- he approached the person working at the counter

- he pointed the knife at the store employee and demanded cash from the till

- the man obtained money and fled

- both robberies were investigated by Hold Up and the man was identified and arrested

On Thursday, November 23, 2017, Harvey Morris, 26, of Toronto, was charged with:

1) two counts of Robbery with Offensive Weapon
2) two counts of Weapons Dangerous
3) two counts of Carry Concealed Weapon
4) two counts of Fail to Comply Probation

He is scheduled to appear in court at College Park on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, 9 a.m., room 505.

Members of the media are invited to attend the Toronto Police Service Auxiliary Graduation Ceremony on Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at 7 p.m., at the Toronto Police College, 70 Birmingham Street.

A total of 38 Auxiliary officers from our diverse communities will be graduating and joining the ranks of over 350 officers in communities throughout Toronto.

Following the ceremony, there will be an opportunity for the media to meet and speak with the new Auxiliary members.

The Toronto Police Service Auxiliary program is one of several volunteer programs within the Toronto Police Service. Members participate in a number of assignments, ranging from crime prevention outreach, parades and special events, to canvassing for missing persons.
