Man wanted in Indecent Act investigation, Security camera images released

The Toronto Police Service requests the public’s assistance locating a man wanted in an Indecent Act investigation.

On Saturday, September 23, 2017, at approximately 5:30 p.m., officers responded to a call for an indecent act in the Bloor Street West and Dalton Road area.

It is reported that:

- a man went into a restaurant

- he took off his pants and committed an indecent act

- he then fled the scene
.
On Friday, October 13, 2017, at approximately 2:30 p.m., officers responded to a call for an indecent act in the Bloor Street West and Euclid Avenue area.

It is reported that:

- a man entered a restaurant

- he took off his pants and committed an indecent act

- he ran away before officers could arrive

It is believed the same man is responsible for these incidents. He is described as 6’0”, muscular build, 20-30, clean shaven with short black hair.

Security camera images of him are released.

Man Charged in Child Sexual Abuse Material investigation, Jamuar Sharat Vijaya, 54

On Thursday, October 10, 2013, members of the Toronto Police Sex Crimes - Child Exploitation were called to a home in the Sheppard Avenue East and Yonge Street area.

It is alleged that:

- police were advised that computer devices in the home contained child sexual abuse material

- a man possessed and accessed the child sexual abuse material on these devices

On Friday, November 1, 2013, the Toronto Police received judicial authorization to facilitate the independent securing and examining of the computer devices. Officers had reason to believe that some of the material on the devices was subject to solicitor/client privilege. Accordingly the material was independently reviewed as required by law.

On Thursday, October 19, 2017, as a result of the evidence gathered, Jamuar Sharat Vijaya, 54, of Toronto, was arrested.

He has been charged with:

1. Possession of Child Pornography
2. Accessing Child Pornography

He appeared in court on Thursday, October 19, 2017, at College Park Courts, 10 a.m., room 501.

He is wanted on the strength of a Warrant in the First for:

1) Robbery with Offensive Weapon
2) two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation

He is described as 5'10", 160 lbs., brown hair, and blue eyes.

The Toronto Police Service requests the public’s assistance locating a missing man.

John Stephenson, 32, was originally reported missing on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at 2:45 p.m., in the Don Mills Road and McNicoll Avenue area.

He is described as 6’3”, with a skinny build, and blonde curly shoulder-length hair. He was last seen wearing white splash pants, a white t-shirt and a white bandana.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Federal Inmate Wanted, Dallas Solomon, 23, Photograph released

The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (R.O.P.E.) Squad is requesting the public's assistance locating a federal offender wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant as a result of his alleged breach of parole.

Dallas Solomon, 23, is described as 5'6", 164 lbs., with brown eyes and black hair. He has tattoos on his neck, upper torso, abdomen and several other tattoos including “Native”, “Pride”, and a skull on his left forearm.

He is serving a four year and three month sentence for:

1) Robbery
2) Disguise with Intent
3) Assault Cause Bodily Harm
4) Unlawfully at Large
5) Possession of a Weapon Contrary to a Prohibition Order

He is known to frequent the Greater Toronto Area, Sault Ste. Marie and Thunder Bay.

Homicide #51/2017, 58 Thorncliffe Park Drive

On Friday, October 20, 2017, at 12:35 a.m., police responded to a call for Unknown Trouble at 58 Thorncliffe Park Drive.

A woman was located in an apartment suffering from significant trauma.

She has been identified as Marite Zala, 69, of Toronto.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled for Saturday, October 21, 2017.

Ernest Lajos Zala, 31, of Toronto was arrested at the scene and charged with:

1) First Degree Murder

He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, October 20, 2017, at College Park, 2 p.m., room 501.

Man charged in assault on Parking Enforcement Officer, Carlston Henry, 32

The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of an arrest made in an Assault on a Parking Enforcement Officer investigation.

On Friday, October 13, 2017, at approximately 3:30 p.m., a Parking Enforcement Officer was issuing parking tickets in the Spadina Avenue and Dundas Street West area.

It is alleged that:

- the officer left the area in her police car

- a man followed her in his vehicle

- he confronted her while she was in her car

- he poured ketchup on the officer

- he got into his car and fled driving on the sidewalk to get around traffic

- pedestrians were forced to move out of his way

On Wednesday, October 18, 2017, Carlston Henry, 32, of Welland, was arrested. He has been charged with:

1) Assault
2) Dangerous Driving
3) Fail to Comply with Probation

He is scheduled to appear at Old City Hall Courts on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at 11 a.m., in room 111.

2017 Scotiabank Waterfront Marathon, Saturday, October 21, 2017 to Sunday, October 22, 2017

On Sunday, October 22, 2017, the Scotiabank Waterfront Marathon will take place, including a full marathon, a half marathon, and a 5km race.

Road closures begin Saturday, October 21, 2017, and continue through Sunday, October 22, 2017.

The following road closures are in effect. Motorists can expect delays.

Saturday, October 21, 2017, at 11 a.m., to Sunday, October 22, 2017, at 8 p.m.

- Bay Street, full roadway, from Queen Street West to Dundas Street West, only exception will be for motorists wishing access to the following locations: The Express Parking Garage, the Marriott Hotel, the Eaton Centre loading docks, and/or the Bell Trinity Building on the east side of Bay Street (north of Albert Street)

- Hagerman Street, full roadway from Bay Street to Elizabeth Street, exception will be for local traffic only

- Elizabeth Street, full roadway from Hagerman Street to Dundas Street West, exception will be for local traffic only

- Albert Street, full roadway from Bay Street to James Street, exception will be for local traffic only

- James Street, full road from Queen Street West to Albert Street, exception will be for local traffic only

Sunday, October 22, 2017, at 4 a.m., to Sunday, October 22, 2017, at 8 p.m.:

Public Safety Alert, Street Robberies, Finch Avenue West and Sentinel Road area

The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of a series of street robberies that have occurred between the period of October 12 - 20, 2017. These have occurred in the area bounded by Finch Avenue West to the south,The Pond Road to the north, Keele Street to the east, and Sentinel Road to the west.

It is reported that:

- Four separate incidents have been reported to police

- in each incident, a form of violence has either been threatened or used against the victims; in one instance the victim was punched in the face, in another a knife was held to the victim's back

- various items including cash, debit/credit cards, as well as cell phones and other electronic devices were forcefully taken from the victims

- there are varying descriptions for the suspect(s) at this time

Police are urging the public to remain vigilant and aware of your surroundings, particularly during the evening hours, walk with a companion if possible, and choose well-lit paths to walk on.

Assistance sought in Theft of a Boat investigation, Toronto Island Marina

The Toronto Police is seeking the public's assistance in an investigation into the theft of a boat.

It is reported that:

- between Monday, October 16, 2017 and Tuesday, October 17, 2017, a boat was stolen from the Toronto Islands Marina.

The boat is a 37', Four Winns Power Boat. It is white with a dark blue canvass. It is named “Princess Zoey.” The boat licence number is 21E21759.

Every year approximately 250 seniors from various retirement/nursing homes are invited to attend Humber College for a Thanksgiving Lunch, aimed to give thanks and recognize their own individual contribution to their community over the years.
