Sexual Assault Alert, Man Wanted, Lansdowne Subway Station, Security camera image attached

The Toronto Police Service is seeking the public's assistance identifying a man wanted in a Sexual Assault investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Sunday, October 8, 2017, at approximately 12:24 p.m., a woman was on board a westbound subway train

- an unknown man boarded the same train, sat beside the woman, and sexually assaulted her

- the woman exited the train at Lansdowne Subway station, at which point the man followed her, and sexually assaulted her a second time

- the woman screamed and the man fled.

The man is described as having a thin build, wearing tan-coloured baggy pants, a black jacket, orange and black baseball hat, and he was carrying a black bag.

Public Safety Alert, Man sought in shooting investigation, Cory Donald Flowers, 36

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a man wanted in relation to a shooting investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Friday, October 20, 2017, at approximately 07:20 p.m., a man discharged a firearm in the area of Melbourne Avenue and Elm Grove Avenue.

- he fired one shot toward another man's moving vehicle, striking the passenger side front window.

- he then fled the area in an unknown vehicle

The man has been identified as Cory Donald Flowers, 36, of Toronto.

His photograph is attached.

He is to be considered armed and dangerous. If located or seen, do not approach and call 911.

Police request assistance with an Assault investigation, Cherry Street and Commissioners Street area

The Toronto Police Service would like to request the assistance of the public in an Assault investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Sunday, September 3, 2017, at approximately 1 a.m., a man was on a party boat cruise in the area of Cherry Street and Commissioners Street

- he became involved in a verbal altercation with another man, who he did not know

- the unknown man punched the man in the face, which resulted in serious injuries.

The suspect is described as heavy set, with an olive complexion, wearing a light-coloured baseball cap, dark jeans, and a dark sweater, with white horizontal stripes, and a large gold chain. He also has a tattoo of a cross on the top his left hand, in between his thumb and index finger.

Security camera images of the wanted man have been released.

Public Safety Alert, Street Robberies, Finch Avenue West and Sentinel Road area, Update, two men arrested

The Toronto Police would like to make the public aware of two arrests made in an investigation into a series of Street Robberies, in the Finch Avenue West and Sentinel Road area.

See previous release.

During the late evening hours of Friday, October 20, 2017, Philip Okeugo, 20, of Toronto, was arrested. He has been charged with:

1) Robbery with violence

On the same evening, Betu Kalala, 21, of Toronto, was also arrested. He has been charged with:

1) two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by crime
2) two counts of Robbery with Violence
3) Robbery with a Weapon
4) Utter Threat

Both were scheduled to appear in court on Saturday, October 21, 2017, at Old City Hall, at 10 a.m.

Investigators believe there are still outstanding person(s) involved in the Street Robberies.

Police are reminding the public to remain vigilant.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting assistance locating a missing man.

Darrell Day, 73, was last seen on Sunday, October 22, 2017, at approximately 3 p.m., in the Bathurst Street and Davenport Road area.

He is described as 6’0”, stocky build, shaved head. He was last seen wearing a beige T-shirt, black jeans. He has a hearing aid in his left ear.

Police are concerned for his safety.

On Thursday, October 19, 2017, members of Toronto Police Service Sex Crimes Child Exploitation executed a search warrant in the Westney Road and Ravenscroft Road area of Ajax.

It is alleged that:

- a man placed an ad online looking to facilitate sexual acts with persons

- he chatted online with someone in order to make arrangements to commit sexual acts on a child

- during these chats, he sent images of child sexual abuse material

Robert Ratcliffe, 54, of Ajax, was arrested and charged with:

1) Possession of Child Pornography
2) Access Child Pornography
3) Make Available Child Pornography
4) Distribute Child Pornography
5) Make Child Pornography
6) Make an Arrangement to Commit Sexual Interference

Police believe that, through volunteer work, he has had close association with children since 2010.

He was scheduled to appear in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East, on Friday, October 20, 2017, 10 a.m., room 412.

Public Safety Alert, Weybourne Crescent and Dinnick Crescent area, Man wanted in Aggravated Assault/Robbery investigation

The Toronto Police Service would like to warn the public about a man wanted in an Aggravated Assault/Robbery investigation.

On Saturday, October 21, 2017, at noon, officers responded to a call for a stabbing in the Weybourne Crescent and Dinnick Crescent area.

It is reported that:

- a 19-year-old woman was walking alone through Lawrence Park near Lawrence Avenue and Yonge Street

- a man approached her from behind

- he made a demand for money, then produced an edged weapon

- he slashed her about the face, then fled the area

- the woman was taken to hospital and treated for her injuries

The man is described as white, olive complexion, 5’7”, thin build, 20s, small face, dark-brown or black greasy or unwashed hair, eyebrows described as prominent, sparse pencil-thin moustache. He was wearing a black oversized hoodie with pockets and black baggy sweatpants with elasticized bottoms.

This incident occurred in daylight near a busy park. Investigators wish to speak to anyone who may have images or video taken in the area at that time.

Police believe the man to be armed, extremely violent and dangerous. If located, do not approach. Call 9-1-1 immediately.

Three men wanted in investigation into series of Robberies, Riverdale Park and Kew Beach Gardens areas, Security camera images of men released

The Toronto Police Service requests assistance locating three men wanted in an investigation into a series of Robberies.

Since Thursday, October 5, 2017, officers have responded to six different calls for robberies in the Kew Beach Gardens and Riverdale Park area.

In all of these robberies, four suspects have had masks covering their faces, produced various weapons including knives, guns and batons, and they all involve threats or violence.

Victims have been robbed of cash, cell phones and other personal items.

On Sunday, October 8, 2017, a boy, 15, was arrested. He is charged with:

1) two counts of Robbery with a Firearm
2) two counts of Have Face Masked or Disguised
3) two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
4) Mischief in Relation to Computer Data

He appeared in court at Old City Hall on Monday, October 9, 2017, 9 a.m., room 101.

Security camera images of the other three suspects still outstanding are now released.

Alexander Man, 44, was last seen on Monday, October 23, 2017, at 11:45 a.m., in the Queen Street West and Ossington Avenue area.

He is described as 5’7”, medium build, fair complexion, balding blonde/grey hair, brown eyes, missing teeth. He was last seen wearing a white button-up long-sleeve shirt, black dress pants, black shoes.

He is described as 5’11”, 180 lbs., medium build, grey hair, full white beard. He was last seen wearing a grey sweater, black pants, black windbreaker jacket.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Boy, 17, arrested in multiple stabbing investigation, Lawrence Avenue East and Rushley Drive area, Suspects outstanding

The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of an arrest in a multiple stabbing investigation.

On Friday, October 20, 2017, at 3:30 p.m., officers responded to a call for a stabbing in the Lawrence Avenue East and Rushley Drive area.

It is alleged that:

- a group of boys was sitting on a wall, talking

- they were confronted by two males on a motorcycle

- the rear passenger got off the motorcycle and approached the group

- he produced a knife that had been concealed under his clothing

- he stabbed one boy from the group

- two of the boy's friends tried to stop the attack

- they were attacked by a larger group coming to the aid of the suspects

- the two boys were held down by the larger group of attackers while the suspect stabbed them multiple times

- the two suspects on the motorcycle, and the larger group aiding them, fled

- all three stabbing victims were taken to hospital, two with life-threatening injuries

On Monday, October 23, 2017, at 11:10 p.m., a 17-year-old boy was arrested. He is charged with:

1) three counts of Aggravated Assault
2) three counts of Assault with a Weapon
3) Weapons Dangerous to the Public Peace
4) Carry Concealed Weapon
5) Fail to Comply with Probation

He was scheduled to appear in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, 9:30 a.m., room 408.

He cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

There are still a number of suspects outstanding. The investigation is ongoing.

The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of a second arrest in an investigation into a series of Robberies.

Since Thursday, October 5, 2017, officers have responded to six different calls for robberies in the Kew Beach Gardens and Riverdale Park area.

On Monday, October 23, 2017, at 10:25 p.m., a 15-year-old boy was arrested. He is charged with:

1) Robbery with a Firearm
2) Have Face Masked/Disguised
3) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
4) Mischief in Relation to Data
5) Possession of a Prohibited Weapon

He was scheduled to appear in court at 311 Jarvis Street on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, 10 a.m., room 1.

Under provisions in the Youth Criminal Justice Act, he cannot be identified. Two security camera images previously released, on the news release noted above, since removed, cannot be published or broadcast.

Homicide #52/2017, Shaw Street and Dupont Street area, Man, 60, charged with Manslaughter

On Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at 4:25 p.m., police responded to a call in the Shaw Street and Dupont Street area.

It is alleged that:

- a 60-year-old man assaulted a woman, 68, and another woman, 82

The 82-year-old woman was hospitalized. On Friday, October 20, 2017, she succumbed to her injuries.

She has been identified as Elsa Paolitto, 82, of Toronto.

On Monday, October 23, 2017, William Macciacchera, 60, of Toronto, was charged with:

1) Manslaughter

He appeared in court at Old City Hall on Monday, October 23, 2017.

Canadians are among the highest users of internet-enabled computer technology. A priority of Toronto Police Service Financial Crimes is to make the public aware of issues of security and safety, and help Canadians stay safe from cyber threats.

#Fraudchat is running a four-week series during Cyber Security Awareness Month, with our special guest, the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre. Whatever your place of business, creating a culture of cyber security is essential. These chats will cover the following topics:

- Week 4, October 25: Digital Citizenship in an Increasingly Digital World

To follow #fraudchat, members of the public simply need to log on to Twitter from 1 p.m., to 2 p.m., and follow the #Fraudchat hashtag. An application such as "Tweetdeck," which allows users to view tweets containing this hashtag separately, is also helpful in following the chat.
