The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a stolen vehicle with flammable material onboard.

It is reported that:

- on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at 3 p.m., a 1998, red, four-door Toyota Corolla, with Ontario licence plate BSDZ 145 was stolen at the intersection of Gerrard Street East and Main Street.

Onboard the vehicle at the time was flammable material that could ignite if heated. If this vehicle is located, do not approach. Call 9-1-1.

Man, 33, charged with Attempt Murder and Aggravated Assault, Lumsden Avenue and Barrington Avenue area

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest following an investigation into an attempted murder.

It is alleged that:

- on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at 2:30 a.m., a man, 22, was leaving a building near the intersection of Lumsden Avenue and Barrington Avenue.

- he was stabbed multiple times by another man

Kofivoaki Boakye, 33, of Toronto, was charged with:

1) Attempt Murder
2) Aggravated Assault

He was scheduled to appear in court at College Park on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, 10 a.m., room 501.

Man, 22, charged with assault on Parking Enforcement Officer, Portland Street and King Street West area

The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of an arrest in an investigation into an Assault on a Parking Enforcement Officer.

It is alleged that:

- on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at approximately 6:30 p.m., a Parking Enforcement officer was issuing parking tickets in the Portland Street and Queen Street West area.

- a man, 22, became upset with the Parking Enforcement Officer after being issued a ticket and proceeded to follow him as he drove away

- the man then accelerated his vehicle at a high rate of speed, driving in oncoming traffic through busy downtown streets, and chased the Parking Enforcement Officer down in the Portland Street and King Street West area

- the Parking Enforcement Officer was cornered at a traffic light

- the man then threw a full cup of coffee at the Parking Enforcement Officer, hitting him in the face

On Tuesday, September 12, 2017, Omar Darkhabani, 22, of Oakville, was arrested.

He is charged with:

1) Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
2) Assault a peace officer with a weapon

He is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Monday, October 16, 2017, 11 a.m.

Hua Guo, 19, was last seen on Friday, March 24, 2017, in the Finch Avenue West and Weston Road area. She was last spoken to by phone on Monday, March 27, 2017.

She is described as 4’11”, black short hair, brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black North Face jacket, dark-blue jeans, white shoes, and often wears glasses.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Ukrainian Festival & Parade, Friday, September 15, 2017 to Sunday, September 17, 2017, Road closures

The Ukrainian Festival & Parade will be held on Bloor Street West, between Jane Street and Runnymede Road, from Friday, September 15, 2017 at 5 p.m. until Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 7 p.m. Event organizers anticipate approximately 700,000 people will attend this event during the three-day period.

Festival hours:
Friday, September 15, 2017: 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Saturday, September 16, 2017: 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Sunday, September 18, 2017: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The Ukrainian Parade will take place on Saturday, September 16, 2017, starting at 11 a.m. within High Park and will proceed out onto westbound Bloor Street West, northbound on Jane Street., and eastbound on Weatherell Street to the dispersal area. The parade concludes at approximately noon. The Bloor Street West road closure will extend from Runnymede Road to High Park Avenue during the parade.

Road closures for this event will run from Friday, September 15, 2017, at 9:30 a.m. until midnight on Sunday, September 17, 2017:

- Bloor Street West, from Jane Street and Runnymede Road (full closure on Bloor Street West)

- Bloor Street West road closure will extend from Runnymede Road to High Park Avenue for the parade on Saturday, September 17, 2017 from approximately 11 a.m. until noon.

TTC service adjustments:

The TTC will maintain their Jane Street Station bus service, north of Bloor Street West, with the following route changes:

- Friday, until 6 p.m., the TTC will maintain regular bus service from Jane Street station until 6 p.m. Buses regularly travel south on Armadale Avenue, west on Bloor Street West, and north on Jane Street;

- From 6 p.m. until 11:59 p.m. TTC vehicles will exit from the station, proceed north on Armadale Avenue, travel west on Weatherell Street, and then north on Jane Street to continue with the regular route

After midnight, TTC will resume regular service, departing the station, travelling south on Armadale Avenue, west on Bloor Street West and north on Jane Street.

Buses for Runnymede Road operate north on Kennedy Avenue, west on Colbeck Avenue, and north on Runnymede Road to continue the regular route

There are buses that will operate through the Runnymede Road & Bloor Street West intersection throughout the weekend to service the Swansea area.

Man, 33, facing charge in Indecent Act investigation, Yonge Street and Steeles Avenue West area

The Toronto Police Service would like to advise the public of an arrest in an Indecent Act investigation.

It is alleged that:

- on Monday, September 11, 2017, at 1:30 p.m., a man was standing near an apartment building in the Yonge Street and Steeles Avenue West area

- the man asked a 34-year-old woman if she wanted to make $20 to perform a sexual act

- the woman refused, and the man then exposed himself to the woman

On Tuesday, September, 12, 2017, Ali Chitan, 33, of Toronto, was arrested. He has been charged with:

1) Indecent Act

He was scheduled to appear in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, 10 a.m.

It is alleged that:

- on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at 2:30 a.m., a man was at Jimmie Simpson park at 870 Queen Street East

- the man sexually assaulted a 50-year-old woman

He is wanted for:

1) Sexual Assault

He is described as 5'11", 200 lbs., brown hair, brown eyes.

On Saturday, September 16, 2017, the RBC Run for the Kids Supporting Youth Mental Health at Sunnybrook will take place.

The race will consist of three distances, 5 km, 7 km, and 15 km, which begin and end in the Mel Lastman Square area. A significant portion of the 15-km race takes place in parkland.

All three distances will have various road closures and lane restrictions associated with them. Motorists can expect delays.


The 15-km route:
- southbound Beecroft Road from Park Home Avenue to North York Boulevard
- eastbound North York Boulevard from Beecroft Road to Yonge Street
- northbound Yonge Street from North York Boulevard to Finch Avenue West
- westbound Finch Avenue from Yonge Street to Dufferin Street
- northbound Dufferin Street from Finch Avenue West to Supertest Road
- eastbound G Ross Lord Park from Supertest Road to Torresdale Avenue
- southbound Torresdale Avenue to Finch Corridor Recreational Trail
- eastbound Finch Corridor Recreational Trail/Finch Hydro Corridor to Talbot Road
- southbound Talbot Road from Finch Hydro Corridor to Finch Avenue West
- eastbound Finch Avenue West to Yonge Street
- southbound Yonge Street from Finch Avenue West to North York Boulevard
- westbound North York Boulevard the finish line


The 7-km route:

The Polish Festival, Saturday, September 16, 2017, to Sunday, September 17, 2017, Road closures

The Polish Festival will take place on Saturday, September 16, 2017, from 10 a.m., to 11 p.m. and Sunday, September 17, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., on Roncesvalles Avenue.

Road closures will take place as follows:

- on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at 6 a.m., Roncesvalles Avenue will be closed between Grafton Avenue and Boustead Avenue until Sunday, September 17, 2017, at 11 p.m.

The TTC will maintain service on Howard Park Avenue. All other routes will divert around the festival.

Motorists can expect delays in the area. Those attending this event are encouraged to take the TTC as parking in the area will be limited.

This event will take place regardless of weather conditions.

Homicide #38/2017, Village Greenway and Parkway Forest Drive

On Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at 4:40 p.m., officers responded to a radio call for a woman found without vital signs in the Village Greenway and Parkway Forest Drive area.

Police and paramedics arrived and located a woman on the floor with obvious signs of trauma. She was pronounced at the scene.

On Wednesday, September 13, 2017, Yeshudyan Ragbir, 24, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1) First-Degree Murder

He was scheduled to appear in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West, on Thursday, September 14, 2017, 10 a.m., room 306.

Damien LaRose, 12, was last seen on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at 3 p.m., in the Wellesley Street East and Rose Avenue area, with his brother Jayden LaRose, 14.

Damien LaRose, 12, is described as 5'1", 98 lbs., short dirty-blonde hair.

Jayden LaRose, 14, is described as 5'4", 120 lbs., shoulder-length blonde hair, blue eyes.

They are known to frequent the Wellesley Street East and St James Court area, as well as the Banff Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East area.

Police are concerned for their safety.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting assistance identifying three men wanted in an investigation into a robbery with a weapon.

Police were called to the Bathurst Street and Finch Avenue West area for a street robbery.

It is reported that:

- a 38-year-old man contacted an escort service via text via www.backpages.com

- the man was to meet the escort in the Bathurst Street and Finch Avenue West area

- a vehicle pulled up beside the man and two men, aside from the driver, exited the vehicle

- the man was assaulted and robbed of his money and personal belongings

- one of the men displayed an Uzi and the other man had a handgun

The suspect vehicle was described as a white four-door sedan.
