Man, 40, charged in Theft investigation, Yorkville area

The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of an arrest in a Theft investigation

It is alleged that:

- on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at 3:51 p.m., police responded to a call for a Break-and-Enter in the Yorkville area

- a woman, 59, was at a work function and her purse was stolen from a common area within a hotel

- the suspect used her identification to get her home address and broke into her house

- the suspect encountered a woman, 60, within the home and fled but took the victim's vehicle

On Sunday, July 23, 2017, Martin Dimitrov, 40, of Thornhill, was arrested. He has been charged with;

1) Theft Under $5000
2) Break-and-Enter with Intent
3) Theft Over $5000
4) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

Man wanted in romance Fraud investigation, Randolph Aquino, 46

The Toronto Police Service is seeking help from the public with an ongoing Fraud investigation.

In January 2017, the Toronto Strategic Partnership started an investigation named Project War Hero.

It is alleged that:

- between September 2016 and February 2017, Randolph Aquino, 46 of Markham, laundered proceeds derived from a scheme to defraud victims via romance fraud

- female victims were contacted on dating websites that included match.com, ourtime.com, and chemistry.com

- victims were misled into believing that they were involved in a relationship with a wealthy person who was a victim of unforeseen circumstance in a foreign country

- three victims were tricked into wiring over $1 million (U.S) to a business account using the name “TRESA GROUP LTD., which was controlled by Randolph Aquino

- the funds were provided to assist with a supposed emergency

Investigators believe that Randolph Aquino may have fled to the Philippines. Investigators are requesting assistance from people with knowledge of the current whereabouts and activities of Randolph Aquino.

He is currently wanted for:

1) Possession of Proceeds of Crime Over $5000
2) Laundering Proceeds of Crime

He is described as 46, clean-shaven, 5’7”,180 lbs., short hair. He dresses well and describes himself as a professional in the financial services industry.

Man, 32, arrested in Child Pornography investigation, Bayview Avenue and Moore Avenue area

Between April 2017 and May 2017, members of the Toronto Police Service Child Exploitation Section conducted an online investigation into the trading of child sexual abuse material.

On August 3, 2017, a search warrant was executed at a residence in the Bayview Avenue and Moore Avenue area.

Christopher MacDonald, 32, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) Two counts of Access Child Pornography
2) Two counts of Possess Child Pornography
3) Make Available Child Pornography
4) Make Child Pornography

He was scheduled to appear in court at College Park on August 3, 2017, room 501.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting assistance locating a missing man.

Chester Brodowski, 92, was last seen on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 8 p.m., in the Sheppard Avenue West and Bathurst Street area

He is described as 5'9", slim build, grey/blue eyes, short white hair, white beard. He wears prescription glasses. He may also be riding a white bicycle.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Assistance sought with Robbery and Aggravated Assault investigation, George Ben Park, Ossington Avenue and Roxton Road area

The Toronto Police Service requests assistance identifying three men involved in a Robbery and Aggravated Assault investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Sunday, July 29, 2017 at approximately 2:45 p.m., three boys, 17, were walking in George Ben Park in the Ossington Avenue and Roxton Road area

- the three boys were accosted by three men who exited a stolen red Dodge Caravan with a wheelchair ramp at the rear

- the licence plate for the stolen minivan is a personalized plate: "4BW"

- the suspects approached the three boys and demanded their clothing they had just purchased at a nearby store

- the suspects then attacked the three boys

- one of the boys was pistol-whipped and stabbed, resulting in serious injuries

- the suspects returned to the stolen Dodge Caravan and fled northbound on Ossington Avenue

It is believed that there may have been another two suspects in the stolen minivan during the robbery. The suspects were unable to obtain any of the boys' property.

The male suspects are described as follows:

1) possibly light-skin black, approximately 6’0”, average build, approximately 18, wearing all-black clothing, including a hoodie which was up at the time

2) black, 5’6’-5’10”, thin build, approximately 18, short black hair

3) white, approximately 6’0”, thin build, approximately 18, black baseball hat

Omar Mbarak, 34, charged in ongoing Criminal Harassment investigation, Birmingham Street and Islington Avenue area, Man's photograph released

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a man charged in an ongoing Criminal Harassment investigation.

It is alleged that:

- on Monday, July 31, 2017, at approximately 12:30 p.m., a boy, 17, was walking in the Birmingham Street and Islington Avenue area.

- the boy was approached by a man driving a small, dark, compact vehicle

- the man made sexual gestures and offered to perform sexual acts on the boy

- the driver continued to follow the boy, attempting to engage him in conversation

- after a short time, he drove off

Omar Mbarak, 34, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

1) two counts of Criminal Harassment

He was scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West on Thursday, August 3, 2017, courtroom 206.

Man, 30, faces Child Pornography charges, Yonge Street and St. Clair Avenue West area

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a Child Pornography investigation.

On Tuesday, August 1, 2017, members of the Toronto Police Service Sex Crimes Child Exploitation Section executed a Criminal Code search warrant in the Yonge Street and St.Clair Avenue West area.

It is alleged that:

- a man possessed and accessed child sexual abuse material

Adam Johnson, 30, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) Possession of Child Pornography
2) Access Child Pornography

He was scheduled to appear in court at College Park on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, 2 p.m.

Toronto Police Service Parking Enforcement will not be enforcing the following on-street parking bylaws during the Civic holiday on Monday, August 7, 2017:

• Pay-and-Display/Metered Areas
• Rush-Hour Routes
• Posted signs indicating Monday-to-Friday regulations

All other areas and parking offences will continue to be enforced.

Man wanted in Attempt Murder investigation, Caledonia Road and Castlefield Avenue area, Photos released

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance with identifying a man wanted in an attempt murder investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Sunday, July 2, 2017, at 6:55 p.m., officers responded to a shooting in the Caledonia Road and Castlefield Avenue area

- two men were approached by an unknown man, while walking eastbound into the plaza, who engaged them in conversation

- the man attempted to rob the victims of their jewelry

- the man shot one of the victims in the lower abdomen

- the man entered the passenger seat of a motor vehicle, which fled at a high rate of speed northbound on Caledonia Road

He is described as being in his mid 20’s, 6’3", with a large build. He was last seen wearing glasses and a dark grey “Roots” tracksuit.

The vehicle is described as a 2013 or 2015, dark-coloured Chevrolet Malibu.

This man is considered armed, violent and dangerous. If located, do not approach, call 9-1-1 immediately.

Assistance sought identifying man wanted in Bank Robbery investigation, Security image of wanted man released

The Toronto Police Service is seeking the public's assistance identifying a man wanted in a bank robbery investigation.

It is reported that:

- On Friday, June 23, 2017, at 2:50 p.m., a man entered a financial institution located in the Bloor Street West and Spadina Avenue area

- he handed the teller a note, on which a demand for cash was written

- the teller handed a quantity of money over to the man, at which point he fled

It is further reported that:

- On Friday, June 30, 2017, at 2:30 p.m., the same man entered a financial institution in the Avenue Road and Davenport Road area

- similar to the previous incident, he handed a note to the teller demanding cash

- the teller complied and the man was last seen fleeing the bank on foot

The man is described as being in his 30’s – 40’s, 5’9", 140 lbs., clean shaven with short black hair. He was wearing a "Burberry" golf shirt, black pants, white leather "Lacoste" shoes, and "Gucci" sunglasses.

Security camera images of the man have been released.

Robert Saunders, 26, was last seen on Friday, August 4, 2017, at 1 a.m., in the York Mills Road and Leslie Street area.

He is described as 6', with a slim build. He was last seen wearing a red/black lumber jacket, with a black hooded sweater, dark khaki pants, and black "Nike" shoes.

He is travelling on a “Specialized” road racing bike and may be outside of the city of Toronto.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Public Safety Alert, University Avenue and Elm Street area, Stolen Medication

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a quantity of stolen medication.

It is reported that:

- between Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at 7 p.m., and Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at 4 a.m., two containers of medication were stolen from a vehicle which was parked in the area of University Avenue and Elm Street

- one container contained 15 pills of Lisdexamfetamine Dimesylate and the second container contained 50 pills of Clonazepam

The pills could be very harmful if ingested, especially to children.

The Toronto Police Service would like to advise the public of a residential break-and-enter investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at approximately 11 p.m., an intruder entered a residence in the area of Finch Avenue East and Victoria Park Avenue

- the residents of the home awoke to find a man standing in their bedroom

- at this point the man fled

Residents are reminded to keep their property well-lit, and to contact police if there are any suspicious persons on their property.
