Missing man, Parliament Street and Winchester Street area, Andrew Kinsman, 49 Update, Disappearance being treated as suspicious

The Toronto Police Service requests assistance locating a missing man.

Andrew Kinsman, 49, was last seen on Monday, June 26, 2017, in the Parliament Street and Winchester Street area.

He is described as approximately 6’2”, medium-to-stocky build, buzz-cut brown hair, beard, glasses. He has a vertical scar on each of his knees from past surgeries. He is also described as having two tattoos: an armband-type tattoo with wording on his right bicep and an armband with an expletive word tattooed on the left side of his chest.

There are no specific clothing descriptions available. He often wears cargo shorts and brown leather Birkenstock sandals.

People who know him describe his disappearance as completely out of character. As a result, it is now being treated as suspicious.

Police are concerned for his safety.

On Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at 10 a.m., the 11th Anniversary of the Toronto Police Service Youth in Policing Initiative Program will be marked.

Assistant Deputy Minister, Ministry of Children and Youth Services Youth Justice Services Division David Mitchell, Chair of the Toronto Police Services Board Andrew Pringle and Chief Mark Saunders will congratulate 155 young people from across the city on being employed for eight weeks in the 2017 Summer Youth in Policing Initiative Program.

These students will be assigned to various units, Divisions and will be gaining job experiences and life skills through their work with the police officers and community members. They also had a chance to partake in several community events and training opportunities.

The Youth in Policing Initiative is part of the Government of Ontario’s Youth Opportunities Strategy. This Strategy is helping to build stronger communities by establishing and expanding community programs that help youth achieve a brighter future.

The young people in this program, aged 15-18, represented neighbourhoods throughout the city: Eglinton East-Kennedy Park; Scarborough Village; Kingston-Galloway; South Parkdale; Westminister-Branson; Steeles-L’Amoreux; Weston-Mt. Dennis; Lawrence Heights; Flemingdon Park-Victoria Village; Crescent Town; Malvern; Jane-Finch; Jamestown; Regent Park; and Dorset Park.

Fatal collision #28/2017, Jane Street at Alliance Avenue

On Friday, June 30, 2017, at 1:04 p.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collision on Jane Street at Alliance Avenue.

It is reported that:

- a man, 70, was riding a bicycle, westbound on the north sidewalk of Alliance Avenue, approaching Jane Street

- a man, 62, was driving a 2012 Ford van, westbound on Alliance Avenue, attempting to make a right turn into a driveway at 847 Jane Street

- as the van made the right turn, the cyclist and van collided

The cyclist received life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital. On Sunday, July 2, 2017, he was pronounced.

Jennifer Chankersingh, 71, was last seen on Sunday, July 2, 2017, at 2 p.m., at the intersection of Sheppard Avenue East and Markham Road.

She is described as 5'5", 120 lbs., light-brown/blonde hair in a ponytail, last seen wearing black pants, dark shoes possibly beaded, white top (no collar) short-sleeve with beading on front.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Dorothy Newby, 88, was last seen on Sunday, July 2, 2017, at 3:38 p.m., in the Don Mills Road and Steeles Avenue East area.

She is described as 4’11", 100 lbs., pale complexion, long grey shoulder-length hair, missing a few bottom teeth. She was last seen wearing a sun hat with a black ribbon around it, blue spring-type jacket, black pants, black shoes, carrying white handbag.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Sarah Holland, 41, was last seen on Monday, July 3, 2017, at 11 p.m., in the Bathurst Street and Dundas Street West area.

She is described as white, blue eyes, light-brown hair, thin build, 5'11". She has tattoos on her upper back and on the front of her right shoulder. She was last seen wearing a black tank top, denim jacket, black skinny jeans, cowboy boots, carrying a brown shoulder-purse.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Federal inmate wanted, Geary Laing, 34, Photograph released

The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad is requesting assistance locating a federal offender wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant as a result of his alleged breach of parole.

Geary Laing, 34, is described as 5'11", 207 lbs., brown eyes, black hair. He has several tattoos including the Toronto skyline and globe on his upper left arm, skulls with three-point crown on left forearm. He also has a tattooed skull and claws on his abdomen.

He is serving a six-year sentence for Possession of Firearms.

He is known to frequent Toronto.

The 55 Division Crime Management Team, in the latest edition of "Wanted Wednesday," is searching for Kevan Anderson, 27 of Toronto.

He is wanted for:

1) Robbery
2) Aggravated Assault
3) Carry Concealed Weapon
4) Weapons Dangerous

He is described as 5’9”, 170 lbs., black hair, brown eyes.

He is believed to be armed, violent and dangerous. If located, do not approach. Call 9-1-1 immediately.

Randy Amofa, 29, wanted for two counts of Attempt Murder, Allenbury Gardens and Kingslake Road area, Photograph released

The Toronto Police Service is seeking assistance locating a wanted man.

On Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at 11:07 p.m., police responded to a radio call for the sounds of gunshots in the Allenbury Gardens and Kingslake Road area.

It is alleged that:

- a 29-year-old man uttered death threats and physically assaulted a 38-year-old man

- the 29-year-old man intentionally drove a vehicle towards the 38-year-old man

- the vehicle was driven over the sidewalk and ended up striking a home in the Allenbury Gardens area

- the 29-year-old man struck three people with the vehicle and fled the area in a gold or brown BMW

The people struck all received non-life-threatening injuries.

Randy Amofa, 29, of Toronto, is currently wanted for:

1) two counts of Attempt Murder
2) four counts of Assault with a weapon
3) Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
4) Threaten Death
5) Drive disqualified
6) Fail to Comply Probation

Randy Amofa is encouraged to contact counsel and turn himself in immediately.

He is described as 6’2”, 200 lbs., with a short black afro, last seen wearing a white golf shirt with horizontal purple stripes and a purple collar, black pants, black shoes.

Three men arrested in Attempt Murder Investigation, 2757 Kipling Avenue, Face total of 45 charges

The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of arrests in an Attempt Murder investigation.

On Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at 1:22 a.m., the Toronto Police Service received a call for a double shooting at 2757 Kipling Avenue.

It is alleged that:

- a 19-year-old pregnant woman and a 20-year-old man, along with two children, were at a unit at 2757 Kipling Avenue

- three men, known to the man and woman, entered the unit armed with handguns

- the woman and man were shot at multiple times

- the three men fled the area

- the man and woman were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries

On Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at 8 p.m., Seraphin McKenzie, 32; Tola Paul, 32; and Edsel Augustin, 29; all from Toronto, were arrested. They are charged with:

1) Careless Storage of a Firearm
2) Careless Storage of Ammunition
3) two counts of Attempt Murder
4) two counts of Pointing a Firearm
5) Carrying a Concealed Weapon
6) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
7) Use Firearm During Commission of an Indictable Offence
8) Possession of a Firearm Knowing Its Possession is Unauthorized
9) two counts of Discharge Firearm with Intent to Wound or Endanger Life
10) Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
11) Use Firearm During Commission of an Indictable Offence
12) Possession of a Firearm Obtained By Crime

They were scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West on Wednesday, July, 5, 2017, 10 a.m., room 206.
