Marijuana dispensary search warrant executed, Canna Clinic, 213 Ossington Avenue

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of arrests in a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act investigation.

On Wednesday June 28, 2017, a search warrant was executed at Canna Clinic at 213 Ossington Avenue. Eight Canna Clinic employees were arrested. A search warrant had been executed at the same location on Thursday June 22, 2017, as part of Project Lincoln.

It is alleged that the following was seized during the execution of the search warrant:

- 908.12 grams of marijuana oil
- 73.52 grams of shatter
- 8.3 kilograms of marijuana
- 42.7 grams hash
- $4,941 Canadian currency

Petro Merkulov, 21, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1) Possession schedule ii substance
2) Possession for the purpose trafficking schedule ii substance
3) Possession proceeds of crime (under $5000)


Pabo Ogunlesi, 22, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1) Possession schedule ii substance
2) Possession for the purpose trafficking schedule ii substance
3) Possession proceeds of crime (under $5000)


Grad Murray, 29, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1) Possession schedule ii substance
2) Possession for the purpose trafficking schedule ii substance
3) Possession proceeds of crime (under $5000)
4) Fail to comply recognizance (peace bond)


Kavan Benthien, 28, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1) Possession schedule ii substance
2) Possession for the purpose trafficking schedule ii substance
3) Possession proceeds of crime (under $5000)
4) Fail to comply recognizance


Eric On, 23, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1) Possession schedule ii substance
2) Possession for the purpose trafficking schedule ii substance
3) Possession proceeds of crime (under $5000)


Ruth-Lande Henry, 21, of Toronto, was arrested. She is charged with:

1) Possession schedule ii substance
2) Possession for the purpose trafficking schedule ii substance
3) Possession proceeds of crime (under $5000)


Joshua Hakimi, 23, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1) Possession schedule ii substance
2) Possession for the purpose trafficking schedule ii substance
3) Possession proceeds of crime (under $5000)


Katherine Klippenstein, 27, of Toronto, was arrested. She is charged with:

1) Possession schedule ii substance
2) Possession for the purpose trafficking schedule ii substance
3) Possession proceeds of crime (under $5000)


They were all scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Thursday, June 29, 2017, 10 a.m.

Three men arrested in Attempt Murder investigation, Toronto South Detention Centre

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of arrests in an ongoing Attempt Murder investigation.

It is alleged that:

- on Thursday, June 22, 2017, a 35-year-old male inmate at the Toronto South Detention Centre was attacked by three other inmates

- he was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries

- the ensuing investigation resulted in the identification and arrest of three inmates

On Tuesday, June 27, 2017, Calvin Michail Nimoh, 23, of Mississauga; Mahad Liban Dahir, 23, of Toronto; and Tyler Almeida, 22, of Caledon; were arrested and charged with:

1) Attempt Murder
2) Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence
3) Aggravated Assault
4) Criminal Negligence Cause Bodily Harm

They were scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, 10 a.m., room 206.

Andrew Kinsman, 49, was last seen on Thursday, June 29, 2017, in the Parliament Street and Winchester Street area.

He is described as 6’4”, medium build, short brown hair, beard, glasses. No clothing descriptions are available.

Man, 35, faces six charges in Forcible Confinement investigation, Ingram Drive and Kincort Street area

The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of an arrest in a Forcible Confinement investigation.

On Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at 10:15 a.m., officers responded to a call for an unknown trouble at a massage parlour in the Ingram Drive and Kincort Street area.

It is alleged that:

- a man entered the massage parlour

- he announced he was taking the three women inside hostage

- he forced one of the women to bind the others

- he threatened them with physical harm

- he eventually released two of the women

- over a number of hours, officers were able to negotiate the last woman's release

Michael Storms, 35, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1) three counts of Forcible Confinement
2) three counts of Uttering Threats

He appeared in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West on Thursday, June 29, 2017, 10 a.m., room 206.

Man arrested in Attempt Murder/Police Pursuit investigation, Kristian Jarvis, 31

The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of an arrest in an Attempt Murder/Police Pursuit investigation.

On Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at 2:11 a.m., officers responded to a call for a shooting on Herzberg Gardens.

It is alleged that:

- a man discharged a firearm at another man

- the intended victim was not injured

- the suspect made good his escape

On Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at 5 a.m., officers responded to a call for a carjacking in the Finch Avenue West and Keele Street area.

It is further alleged that:

- the same man went to this area

- he stole a car

- he drove that car to an address on Murray Ross Parkway

- he attempted to rob another man of his car at gunpoint

- he was not successful

On Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at 6:15 a.m., officers responded to a call for a robbery on Norfinch Drive.

It is further alleged that:

- the same man tried to rob another man of his car

- he displayed a firearm

- there was an altercation

- the victim was pistol-whipped, sustaining injuries

On Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at approximately 6:25 a.m., officers responded to another call for a Person with a Gun in the Norfinch Drive and Steeles Avenue West area.

It is further alleged that:

- the same man approached a 53-year-old woman sitting in her car

- he discharged a firearm at her

- she sustained life-threatening injuries

- she was taken to hospital

- the man fled the area in her car with officers in an unmarked car following him

- he discharged his firearm at the officers

- he continued to flee from police, north along Highway 400

- officers from several GTA police services assisted in an attempt to stop him

- at one point, he stopped the stolen car to shoot at police again

- he eventually stopped and surrendered to police

Kristian Jarvis, 31, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

1) six counts of Attempt Murder
2) Unauthorized Possession of a Loaded Firearm
3) four counts of Discharging Firearm with Intent
4) five counts of Weapons Dangerous
5) two counts of Theft of Motor Vehicle
6) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
7) three counts of Armed Robbery
8) six counts of Assault with a Weapon
9) Occupy Motor Vehicle with a Firearm
10) Possess Firearm Knowing its Possession is Prohibited
11) Carry Concealed Weapon
12) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
13) Flight While Pursued by Police
14) Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle

He appeared in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West on Thursday, June 29, 2017, 10 a.m., room 306.

On Friday, June 30, 2017, at 10 a.m., at TPS Mounted Unit headquarters, 91 Manitoba Drive, on the grounds of Exhibition Place, the Toronto Police Service Mounted Unit will be presenting the newest fully trained police mounts.

In attendance will be Chief Mark Saunders, the Honourable Bill Blair, the family of Ryan Russell and Toronto Blue Jays President Emeritus Paul Beeston.

The ceremony will honour police mounts Chief Blair, Russell and Blue Jay.

Members of the media are invited to attend.

Winston Watson, 75, was last seen on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at approximately 6 p.m., in the Coxwell Avenue and Mortimer Avenue area.

He is described as black, 5’11", 180 lbs., black and grey hair, grey beard, wearing khaki-coloured pants, a multi-coloured striped dress shirt, navy blue windbreaker jacket, blue baseball cap, and possibly carrying a "Sobey’s" grocery bag.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Harry Bernstein, 87, was last seen on Thursday, June 29, 2017, at 4 p.m., in the Bathurst Street and Sheppard Avenue West area.

He is described as 5’8”, 145 lbs., grey hair, thin build. He was last seen wearing a black sports jacket, blue checkered shirt, grey pants, white running shoes, and a flat cap.

He is believed to be driving a black 2013 Lexus bearing Ontario number plate AWHC 122.

Police are concerned for his safety.

He is described 5’10"-5’11", in his 30s, thin to medium build, black scruffy beard, wearing a white shirt with a logo, dark jacket with side vents, dark baseball hat with logo, dark pants, and white high-top running shoes.

Man arrested in Attempt Murder investigation, Ellesmere Road and Markham Road

The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of an arrest made in an Attempt Murder investigation.

On Thursday, June 29, 2017, at approximately 4:45 p.m., police responded to a call for a Stabbing in the Ellesmere Road and Markham Road area.

It is alleged that:

- a 48-year-old woman was standing out front of a building

- she was approached by a man wielding a large knife

- she was stabbed numerous times

- the man then fled the scene in a van

The woman was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

On Thursday, June 29, 2017, at approximately 5 p.m., a man, 48, surrendered to police. He was arrested and charged with:

1) Attempt Murder
2) Aggravated Assault
3) Assault with a Weapon
4) Weapons Dangerous
5) Fail to Comply with Recognizance

He appeared in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East on Friday, June 30, 2017, at 10 a.m., in room 412.

Assistance sought in a robbery with a firearm investigation, York Street and Lakeshore Boulevard West area, Photographs of suspects released

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance identifying three men involved in a robbery with a firearm investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Friday, June 9, 2017, at approximately 4:20 p.m., a robbery with a firearm occurred in the York Street and Lakeshore Boulevard West area

- the victim was approached by three men

- one of the men brandished a black semi-automatic handgun and obtained a gold bracelet from the victim

- the men fled the scene

They are described as:

1) 5'8" to 5'9", 20 years old, medium build, with black hair in cornrows. He was wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans, dark-colour running shoes and had a satchel around his shoulder. He was armed with a black semi-automatic handgun

2) thin build, with black Afro-style hair. He was wearing a black long-sleeve shirt and dark pants

3) medium build. He was wearing a dark short-sleeve golf shirt, off-white capri pants, white running shoes and a burgundy baseball hat.
