The Toronto Police Service is requesting assistance locating a missing woman.

Racquel Antonia Armstrong, 49, was last seen on Friday, June 2, 2017, at approximately 10 p.m., in the Lake Shore Boulevard West and Strachan Avenue area.

She is described as 5’7”, medium build, with long, curly, brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a grey-and-white long dress, dark denim jacket, beige hat.

Police have concerns for her safety.

GO Train fatality, East of Kipling GO station

On Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at 6:49 p.m., police responded to a call for a pedestrian who had been struck by a train, on the GO Train tracks, east of the Kipling GO station.

It is reported that:

- a woman, 41, was attempting to cross the GO Train tracks, east of the Kipling GO station

- a westbound GO Train was approaching the Kipling GO station and struck the woman as she attempted to cross the train tracks

The woman received life-threatening injuries and was pronounced at the scene.

Assistance sought identifying man in Assault investigation, Queen Street East and Coady Avenue area, Security camera image of man released

The Toronto Police Service is seeking assistance identifying a man involved in an Assault investigation.

On Saturday, June 3, 2017, at approximately 11:45 a.m., a man approached a 69-year-old man while walking near Queen Street East and Coady Avenue.

It is reported that:

- the man assaulted the 69-year-old man

- the man fled the area

- police located the man on a TTC bus nearby

- when they attempted to arrest the man, he assaulted one of the officers and fled

The man is described as 5'10", thin build, with long curly hair. He was wearing a red sweater, black T-shirt, grey pants.

A security camera image of the man has been released.

On Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at 4:53 a.m., police responded to a call for a Fail-to-Remain personal injury collision at Eglinton Avenue West, west of Black Creek Drive.

It is alleged that:

- a man, 37, and woman, 59, were involved in an altercation in the eastbound lanes of Eglinton Avenue West, west of Black Creek Drive

- a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee was northbound on Black Creek Drive and made a left turn to proceed westbound in the eastbound lanes of Eglinton Avenue West

- the 37-year-old man was struck by the Jeep

- the driver and vehicle involved in the collision failed to remain at the scene of the collision and were last seen westbound on Eglinton Avenue West

The 37-year-old man who was struck was pronounced at the scene.

He has been identified as Dario Humberto Romero, of Toronto.

The 59-year-old woman was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle has been identified as Anthony James Kiss, 31, of Wasaga Beach. He is charged with:

1) Manslaughter
2) Impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death
3) Over 80mgs operation of a motor vehicle causing death
4) Fail to stop at scene of accident causing death

He appeared in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West on Thursday, June 8, 2017, 10 a.m., courtroom 206.

Saturday, June 10, 2017 – Sunday, June 11, 2017, Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer, Exhibition Place, Road closures

On Saturday, June 10, 2017, and Sunday, June 11, 2017, the annual Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer event will take place.

Approximately 200 cyclists have been invited to participate in a ride from Princess Margaret Hospital to the CNE grounds. This portion of the ride will start at 7:30 a.m. and will take place on open roadways.

The main portion of the event will start at Exhibition Place and will include more than 6,000 cyclists who will ride either a 200-mile route or a 200-kilometre route that finishes in Niagara Falls, Ontario. On the second day of the event, a smaller group of cyclists will return to Toronto. The finish line for the returning riders will be at Exhibition Place.

Saturday, June 10, 2017: road closures & race set-up at 6 a.m. The ride will start at approximately 8:30 a.m.

Route: 200 km
Formation area: Exhibition Place
Southbound: Ontario Drive to Lake Shore Boulevard West
Westbound: Lake Shore Boulevard West (all westbound lanes) to
Windermere Avenue
Northbound: Windermere Avenue to The Queensway
Westbound: The Queensway (westbound curb lane only)
Turnover point: Toronto/Mississauga Border (The West Mall)

Route: 200 mile
Formation area: Exhibition Place
Southbound: Ontario Drive to Lake Shore Boulevard West
Westbound: Lake Shore Boulevard West (all westbound lanes) to
Windermere Avenue
Northbound: Windermere Avenue to The Queensway
Westbound: The Queensway (westbound curb lane only)
Northbound: The West Mall
Westbound: Burnhamthorpe Road
Turnover point: Toronto/Mississauga Border (Etobicoke Creek)

Road closures:
6 a.m. until approximately 10:30 a.m.:
Westbound Lake Shore Boulevard West, from Strachan Avenue to British Columbia Drive
8 a.m. until approximately 10:30 a.m.:
Westbound Lake Shore Boulevard West, from British Columbia Drive to Windermere Avenue

Lane restrictions will occur for the remainder of the routes.

Sunday, June 11, 2017: no road closures.

Motorists can expect delays in the area and should consider alternate methods of transportation.

Toronto Challenge Run, Sunday, June 11, 2017

On Sunday, June 11, 2017, the Toronto Community Services Department will host the 25th annual “Toronto Challenge Run."

This is both a 1-km walk, and a 5-km walk/run. Event organizers are expecting approximately 3,500 participants.

Participants will assemble on University Avenue near Armoury Street. At 9:30 a.m. they will depart along the following route:

Formation Area - University Avenue (Queen Street West to Armoury Street)

Northbound - University Avenue
Northbound - Queen’s Park Crescent West
Southbound - Queen’s Park Crescent East
Eastbound - Wellesley Street West
Southbound - Bay Street
Westbound - Adelaide Street West
Northbound - University Avenue

Dispersal Area - Nathan Phillips Square

Vehicles in the area will experience traffic delays due to this event and are advised to consider alternative routes.

Roads are expected to be fully reopened by 11 a.m.

This event will proceed regardless of weather conditions.

Murray Walsh, 74, was last seen on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at approximately 3 p.m., in the Bathurst Street and Glencairn Avenue area.

He is described as 5’9”, with a slim build and grey hair. He was last seen wearing glasses, a ¾-length light-coloured jacket, grey sweater, grey shirt and black pants.

He was last seen driving a red, 2004, 4-door, Lexus E33, with an Ontario license plate of AVAN 713.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Vanessa Campbell, 16, was last seen on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at approximately 9:30 a.m., in the Pape Avenue and Danforth Avenue area.

She is described as 5'6", with a slim build, brown hair, possibly in a bun on top of her head, brown eyes, and a small heart tattoo on the webbing of her left hand, between her thumb and first finger.

She may be wearing a pink t-shirt with a butterfly on the front. She has a nose piercing on the right side of her nose.

On Saturday, June 3, 2017, at approximately 1 p.m., a man approached a 61-year-old man while walking through High Park.

It is reported that:

- the man assaulted the 61-year-old man

- the man fled the area

The man is described as 6', medium build, with short curly black hair. He was wearing a black t-shirt, black denim vest, and black jeans. He was wearing a camouflage bandana around his neck and a green backpack.

A photo of the man and his dog have been released.

On Saturday, June 10, 2017, between noon and 5 p.m., at Burrows Hall Community Centre, 1081 Progress Avenue, 42 Division will be hosting its 20th Annual Police Community Picnic.

This event is fun for the whole family and is a wonderful opportunity for the community and the police to build a relationship within a friendly environment. Community events such as this help to break down barriers and misconceptions that youth may have about officers and promote a positive image of the police.

The picnic is hosted by the 42 Division Community Police Liaison Committees. These groups organize community walks, crime-prevention seminars, and financially support local community organizations.

The Toronto Police Service is seeking assistance identifying a man involved in a hate-motivated Mischief investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at approximately 11 p.m., a man entered Baycrest Health Sciences, 3560 Bathurst Street

- he entered the museum area, removed two photographs from the display wall, vandalized them, and threw them to the ground

- he then wrote a derogatory message in the comment book and left the building

The man is described as 5'8", 160 lbs., medium build, short red hair. He was wearing a blue baseball hat, black/blue running shoes and blue-and-red shorts.

A security camera image of the man has been released.
