Samiya Phillips, 15, was last seen on Monday, May 8, 2017, at approximately 11:30 a.m., in the Guildwood Parkway and Livingston Road area.

She is described as 5’3”, thin build, with long, black, curly hair, brown eyes.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Chianne Mair, 15, was last seen on Saturday, May 6, 2017, at approximately 5 p.m., in the Royal York Road and Bloor Street West area.

She is described as 5’2”, 146 lbs., thin build, reddish/brown shoulder-length hair, blue eyes.

She was last seen wearing black leggings, black Adidas jacket, carrying a large beige purse.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Public Safety Alert, Islington Avenue and The Queensway area, Stolen medication

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a quantity of stolen medication.

It is reported that:

- on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at approximately 10 a.m., a quantity of narcotics, which include Vetergesic, Torbugesic, Hydromophone, Ketaset, Morphine, and Fentanyl vials, were stolen in the Islington Avenue and The Queensway area.

The vials and pills could be harmful and possibly fatal if ingested, especially to children.

Homicide #22/2016, Parliament Street and Richmond Street East, Update, Michael Teddy Gibson, 29, wanted for First-Degree Murder, Arrest made in Aruba

Michael Teddy Gibson, 30, of Toronto, is wanted for First-Degree Murder in the shooting death of Julian Weekes, 27.

On Saturday, April 2, 2016, at 2:03 a.m., officers came across Weekes lying on the sidewalk, near Parliament Street and Richmond Street East. He later succumbed to his injuries.

Gibson was last seen in the Toronto area on April 5, 2016 and may have fled the country.


At the end of April 2017, Gibson was arrested in Aruba by Aruban police. He is currently being investigated for criminal offences in Aruba.

William Walewski, 22, was last seen on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at 6:05 p.m., in the Oxford Street and Spadina Avenue area.

He is described as 6’1", 130 lbs., light-brown hair, brown eyes. He was last seen wearing grey pants, black shirt, navy-blue hooded sweater, open-toe sandals with socks.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Man arrested in child sexual abuse images investigation, Ko-Lun "Kevin" Liu, 26, Faces four charges

On Thursday, May 11, 2017, members of the Toronto Police Service’s Sex Crimes Child Exploitation Section made an arrest as part of an investigation into child sexual abuse images.

It is alleged that:

- since March 2017, the man engaged in the exchange of child sexual abuse images online

Ko-Lun "Kevin" Liu, 26, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) Accessing Child Pornography
2) Make Available Child Pornography
3) Two counts of Possession of Child Pornography

He was scheduled to appear in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East on Thursday, May 11, 2017, room 412.

Police request assistance with shooting investigation, Warden Avenue and Walbon Road area

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a shooting investigation.

On Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at approximately 5:07 p.m., police received a call for a shooting in the Warden Avenue and Walbon Road area.

It is reported that:

- two vehicles were travelling northbound on Warden Avenue

- the occupants of the two vehicles were exchanging gunfire

- the first vehicle lost control and crashed on to the private property of a homeowner at 1080 Warden Ave

- the occupants of that vehicle fled the area on foot

- the second involved vehicle was last seen heading northbound on Warden Avenue

- moments later, a victim of the shooting, (one of the first vehicle's occupants) was located by police a short distance away

- he was taken to hospital where he received treatment for his injuries. They were non-life-threatening.

Police are seeking the public's assistance for:

- any dash-camera video from motor vehicles that were in the area at the time of the incident

- residents with home security cameras in and around the 1080 Warden Avenue area, Wayne Avenue, Lingarde Drive, or Tedford Drive, who have not yet spoken to police

- anyone with damage to their motor vehicles as a result of the incident

Assistance sought with Criminal Harassment investigation, Lawrence Avenue East/Mount Pleasant Road area, Security camera video of man released, Update, Another security camera video of man released

The Toronto Police Service is requesting assistance with a Criminal Harassment investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, shortly after 7:45 a.m., a 13-year-old girl was walking her dog in the Lawrence Avenue East/Mount Pleasant Road area

- a man began to follow her

- concerned for her own safety, the girl returned home, walking through her backyard

The man is described as white, 20-25, brown hair, goatee, wearing a black hoodie with white on the front, and black pants.

Arrest in series of hold-ups, South Etobicoke area, Man, 40, faces 11 charges

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a series of hold-ups.

It is alleged that:

- between April 2017 and May 2017, a barefaced man entered convenience stores posing as a customer

- he would approach the lone victim at the service counter when no customers were inside the store

- he would produce a large knife, making a demand for money at knifepoint

- he would flee using a getaway vehicle parked nearby

Investigators disseminated a crime bulletin of the man and the getaway vehicle.

It is further alleged that:

- on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, police observed a man operating a vehicle matching the description.

Tomasz Burzawa, 40, of Toronto, was arrested for five armed robberies in the Lake Shore Boulevard West area of south Etobicoke, and one robbery on Lakeshore Boulevard in Mississauga.

He was charged with:

1) five counts of Robbery with an Offensive Weapon
2) five counts of Possession of a Weapon
3) Robbery

He appeared in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Thursday, May 11, 2017, 10 a.m., courtroom 206.

Boy, 15, faces 10 charges in series of retail robberies

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a series of retail robberies.

It is alleged that:

- between Friday, April 19, 2017, and Tuesday, April 30, 2017, a male rushed into retail stores, yelling demands for money

- he jumped on top of the counters and pulled out a knife

- he was very aggressive towards the victims during his demands for money

- he robbed the victims of a quantity of cash and cigarettes

On Thursday, May 11, 2017, a 15-year-old boy, of Brampton, was arrested and charged with:

1) three counts of Robbery with an offensive Weapon
2) Disguise with Intent
3) three counts of Fail to Comply Recognizance
4) three count of Possession of a Weapon

He is scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Friday, May 12, 2017.

He cannot be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Tekle Ogbamichael, 50, facing five charges in Sexual Assault investigation, Lawrence Avenue East and Railside Road area

The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of an arrest in a Sexual Assault investigation.

On Thursday, May 4, 2017, officers became involved in a Sexual Assault investigation in the Lawrence Avenue East and Railside Road area.

It is alleged that:

- a 22-year-old woman boarded a TTC bus

- she was approached by a man

- he sat down beside her, engaged her in a brief conversation

- he then sexually assaulted her

On Tuesday, May 9, 2017, Tekle Ogbamichael, 50, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1) Sexual Assault
2) five counts of Fail to Comply with Probation

Homicide #37/2015, Bevis Larmond, 56, Dalvin Lewis, now 49, wanted for First-Degree Murder, Update, Man arrested at Toronto Pearson International Airport, Charged with First-Degree Murder

On Tuesday, April 18, 2017, the TPS announced that Dalvin Lewis, now 49, of Toronto, was wanted for First-Degree Murder in the stabbing death of Bevis Larmond, 56.

On Saturday, September 12, 2015, at 3:21 p.m., 43 Division officers found 56-year-old Bevis Larmond on the ground near the apartment building at 4062 Lawrence Avenue East. He was later pronounced dead at hospital, having been stabbed.

On Thursday, May 11, 2017, Dalvin Lewis, now 49, was arrested on a Warrant in the First at Toronto Pearson International Airport. He was charged with:

1) First-Degree Murder

He was scheduled to appear in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East on Friday, May 12, 2017, 10 a.m., room 412.

Investigation into Assault on Parking Enforcement Officer, College Street and Manning Avenue area, Man, 56, charged

The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of an arrest in an investigation into an Assault on a Parking Enforcement Officer.

It is alleged that:

- on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at approximately 3 p.m., a Parking Enforcement Officer was enforcing municipal by-laws on Manning Avenue near College Street

- the officer was in the process of writing a ticket for a vehicle parked illegally on Manning Avenue

- he was approached by a man who identified himself as the owner of the vehicle

- the officer explained the circumstances under which he was issuing the ticket

- when the officer attempted to serve the ticket, the man pushed the officer, causing him to fall to the ground

Police were called.

On Wednesday, May 10, 2017, Victor Carvalho, 56, of Toronto was arrested. He has been charged with:

1) Assault Peace Officer

He was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Thursday, May 11, 2017, 10 a.m.

Two men sought in home-invasion robbery investigation, Security camera images released, Update, One man arrested, another outstanding

On Wednesday January 18, 2017, a news release from TPS Hold Up requesting assistance identifying two men wanted for a home-invasion robbery investigation was released.

...

On Saturday, November 26, 2016, at 1:42 a.m., officers responded to a call for a robbery in an apartment at 1950 Kennedy Road.

It is reported that:

- the apartment was being used for prostitution

- two men, posing as customers, entered the apartment armed with two handguns and a knife

- they demanded money from three people in the apartment

- two of the people were bound with zip ties and pistol-whipped

- a quantity of money was turned over to the suspects

- police attended the apartment building and heard a gunshot from inside the apartment

- the two suspects were able to scale down the outside balcony and evade capture

Suspect #1 is described as Asian, 25-35, 5'11", skinny build with short black hair.

Suspect #2 is described as Asian, 35-40, 5'7" - 5'9", medium build, wearing metal-framed glasses.

These men are considered armed and dangerous. If located, do not approach. Call 9-1-1 immediately.

On Wednesday, May 10, 2017, TPS Hold Up arrested one of the two suspects.

Shi Gum, 30, of Toronto, was charged with:

1) three counts of Robbery while Armed with a Firearm
2) two counts of Assault with a Weapon
3) three counts of Forcible Confinement
4) three counts of Possession of a Weapon
5) three counts of Utter Death Threats

He appeared in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East on Thursday, May 11, 2017, 10 a.m., room 412.

Suspect #2 is described as Asian, 35-40, 5'7"-5'9", medium build, wearing metal-framed glasses and is still outstanding.

He is considered armed and dangerous. If located, do not approach. Call 9-1-1 immediately.
