On Friday, May 5, 2017, at 11:59 p.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collision at Morningside Avenue, north of Sewells Road.
It is reported that:
- a man, 74, was driving a 1995 GMC van, southbound on Morningside Avenue, approaching Sewells Road
- a woman, 20, was driving a 2002 Acura MDX, northbound on Morningside Avenue, north of Sewells Road
- for reasons not yet determined, the GMC van crossed into the northbound lanes and collided with the northbound Acura MDX
- following that collision, a Mercedes-Benz was involved in a collision with the GMC van, and a Nissan Sentra struck the rear of the Mercedes-Benz
The driver of the GMC van was pronounced at the scene. The driver of the Mercedes-Benz was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The remaining drivers and passengers were uninjured.
