Man wanted in Sexual Assault cause Bodily Harm and Robbery investigation, Gerrard Street West and Yonge Street area, Update, Hakim El Mozazi, 18, arrested, faces eight charges

The Toronto Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance with a Sexual Assault Cause Bodily Harm and Robbery with a Firearm investigation.

It is alleged that:

- on Saturday, November 5, 2016, at approximately 4:20 a.m., a man physically and sexually assaulted an 18-year-old woman in the Gerrard Street West and Yonge Street area

- subsequent to the assault, the man forcibly removed the woman's belongings

- the man was armed with a firearm

- he fled the area on Gerrard Street West

On Tuesday, January 10, 2017, Hakim El Mozazi, 18, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1) Sexual Assault cause Bodily Harm
2) Robbery with a firearm
3) two counts of Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorzied
4) two counts of Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
5) two counts of Store firearm or restricted weapon

He is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Monday, January 16, 2017.

She is described as 4’7”, very thin build. She has short, white hair, brown eyes, and dark-rimmed glasses. She was last seen wearing a red winter coat with a hood and may be wearing a black knitted hat and pearl earrings.

Homicide #9/1983, Graham Hugh Pearce, 36, Homicide cold case resolved

The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of a resolution of the investigation into Homicide #9/1983.

On Sunday, March 20, 1983, at 12:40 p.m., officers responded to a call at an apartment within 35 High Park Avenue.

Officers arrived to find the lifeless body of a man. He was later identified at Graham Hugh Pearce, 36, of Toronto.

A post-mortem examination was conducted and the cause of death was exsanguination, the result of a stab wound.

Investigators from Homicide - Cold Case section reviewed the case and, as a result, a Person of Interest was identified. It was determined that the Person of Interest had died in 2001.

Had this Person of Interest been alive today, he would have been arrested and charged with the murder. As this person is now deceased, the Toronto Police Service will not identify him.

This cold case is now considered resolved.

Future Kaakunga, 15, was last seen on Thursday, January 12, 2107, in the Dupont Street and Christie Street area.

He is described as 5’10”, heavy build, brown eyes, short black hair. He was last seen wearing grey shoes and a green-and-brown camouflage backpack.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Public Safety Alert, Lost medication

The Toronto Police Service wishes to caution the public following the reported loss of a quantity of prescription drugs.

It is reported that:

- on Friday January 12, 2017, between 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., a quantity of prescription drugs was accidentally left on a TTC subway train between Warden station and Dufferin station.

- the drugs were in a brown computer bag made from a material that appears to be leather

- the bag has a flap opening and two handles

The lost medication includes:

-nine Fentanyl patches (50mg) contained in two separate white boxes with the prescription information

- eight Lorazepam pills (2mg)

- six Temazepam pills contained in separate orange pill bottles.

The medication is of sufficient quantity and toxicity to be fatal if ingested in quantity. Children are a particular concern and parents are requested to impress upon them the danger of touching any medication that may be found.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance identifying a man wanted in a Sexual Assault Investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at approximately 9:50 a.m., a woman, 26, was on board a TTC subway train, heading northbound, between St. Clair West subway station and Glencairn subway station.

- a man sat beside the woman and sexually assaulted her

He is described as 5’9" -5’11", 35-45, wearing a dark winter coat, a black baseball hat with white Nike logo and rectangular-frame glasses.

Security camera images of the man have been released.

Three men face 10 charges in Theft investigation, Meadowvale Road and Sheppard Avenue East area

The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public about three arrests in a Theft investigation.

It is alleged that:

- on Thursday, January 12, 2017, the Canadian National Railway Police contacted the Toronto Police Service regarding the theft of copper plates from sealed train box cars

- at 7 p.m., three men arrived at a Canadian National Railway service road in the Meadowvale Road and Sheppard Avenue East area and stole 26 copper plates that had been thrown off a moving train box car.

- the men were arrested in a rented truck a short distance away in possession of the copper plates

- the copper plates are valued at between $500 and $600 each (total $13,000-$15,600).

Andrei Mosonyi, 44, of Toronto, was charged with:
1) Theft over $5,000
2) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000
3) Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence

Neculai Ghitiu, 42, of Montreal, was charged with:
1) Theft over $5,000
2) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000
3) Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence

Cristea Cristea, 51, of Blainville, Quebec, was charged with:
1) Theft over $5,000
2) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000
3) Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence
4) Fail to comply with Recognizance

The three men were scheduled to appear in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East on Friday, January 13, 2017, room 412.

Man and woman sought in synagogue Theft investigation, Bathurst Street and Warwick Avenue area, Security camera images released

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance identifying a man and woman wanted in a Theft investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Sunday, December 25, 2016, at approximately 11:15 a.m., a man and woman attended a synagogue in the Bathurst Street and Warwick Avenue area

- they entered an area where coat racks were being stored and stole multiple items before leaving the building

- the man and woman were last seen entering a 2010-2015 black Volkswagen Golf before leaving the area

The man is described as 20-25, 5’7" - 5’10", wearing a dark winter coat with fur trim, a red sweater, grey pants, and beige shoes. He was wearing red-trimmed glasses.

The woman is described 20-25, 5’2" - 5’5", wearing a long black winter jacket with fur trim, a black shirt, black leggings, a pink scarf, and purple winter boots. She was wearing large framed sunglasses.

Security camera images of the man and woman, as well as the suspect vehicle, have been released.
