The Toronto Police Service would like to advise the public of four arrests in a firearm discharge investigation.
It is alleged that:
- on Monday, August 15, 2016, police responded to the sound of gunshots in the
Pape Avenue and Mortimer Avenue area
- a vehicle in the area was investigated
- police located a Glock 10mm handgun inside the vehicle and bullet casings
Vishnuvarthan Srivaratharajah, 26, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
1) Careless use of a firearm.
2) Unauthorized possession of a firearm
3) Unauthorized possession of a restricted weapon
4) Possession of a firearm knowing that its possession is unauthorized.
5) Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle.
6) Discharge firearm recklessly
7) Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Bao Quach, 19, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
1) Careless use of a firearm
2) Unauthorized possession of a firearm
3) Unauthorized possession of a restricted weapon
4) Possession of a firearm knowing that its possession is unauthorized.
5) Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle.
6) Discharge firearm recklessly
7) Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
Walter Long, 19, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
1) Careless use of a firearm
2) Unauthorized possession of a firearm
3) Unauthorized possession of a restricted weapon
4) Possession of a firearm knowing that its possession is unauthorized.
5) Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle.
6) Discharge firearm recklessly
7) Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
Van Le, 19, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
1) Careless use of a firearm
2) Unauthorized possession of a firearm
3) Unauthorized possession of a restricted weapon
4) Possession of a firearm knowing that its possession is unauthorized.
5) Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle.
6) Discharge firearm recklessly
7) Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
They were scheduled to appear in court at College Park on Monday August 15, 2016, 2 p.m.
