The Toronto Police Service is releasing a letter from Chief Mark Saunders to the Pride Toronto Board of Directors.

Chief Saunders said, "In the aftermath of the Pride Parade, much has been written and said about the Toronto Police Service and our relationship with the LGBTQ communities in Toronto, little of it accurate.

"We have also had concerned feedback from members of the LGBTQ communities who feel marginalized. They are worried that the confusion created by the post-Parade uncertainty might have an impact on our continuing outreach efforts. I wanted to get some facts out and reassure all members of the LGBTQ communities that our outreach efforts will contine. That's why I felt I had to release my letter."
