Two men wanted in Attempt Murder investigation, Wakunda Place and O'Connor Drive area, Security camera image of one man released

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an Attempt Murder investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Sunday, January 24, 2016, at 3:23 a.m., a 25-year-old man was walking on Wakunda Place after parking his car in the Wakunda Place and O'Connor Drive area

- a man approached the 25-year-old man from the front, pointed a gun, and began to shoot at him

- the 25-year-old man ran away while the other man chased after him and continued shooting at him

- as the 25-year-old man ran away, a second man also began to shoot at him

The first man is described as black, wearing a grey track suit

This is the latest instalment of 14 Division's "Fugitive Friday." We are looking for Shola Ajose, 22, of Toronto.

He is wanted on the strength of a Warrant in the First Instance for:

1) five counts of Assault with a Weapon
2) three counts of Assault
3) Assault Causing Bodily Harm
4) Uttering Threats
5) Possession of a Weapon
6) Mischief Under

He is described as 5'11", 150 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes.

Police warn that he is considered violent. If located, do not approach. Call 9-1-1.

Police request assistance with robbery investigation, Security camera images of wanted men released

The Toronto Police Service requests the public's assistance identifying two men wanted in a Robbery investigation.

On Saturday, January 16, 2016, a 38-year-old taxi driver picked up a group in the Spadina Avenue and Queen Street West area.

It is reported that:

- he was asked to take them to the Danforth Avenue and Pape Avenue area

- once at their destination, a man in the back seat produced a knife and ordered the driver out of his taxi

- the group then rummaged through the taxi, taking a quantity of money

Security camera images of the men are now released.

55 Division thanks residents and media for "Wanted Wednesday" success

55 Division's Crime Management Team started the "Wanted Wednesday" program in September 2012.

They release the name, photograph and offences for which the person is wanted. The offences vary from Theft, Robbery, and Sexual Assault to Homicide.

In 2015, 44 wanted people were included as part of the “Wanted Wednesday” campaign. Of those, 38 (86%) were arrested.

55 Division Detective Sergeant Warren Wilson said, "I want to extend my appreciation and gratitude to the residents of 55 Division and the media who are responsible for so much of the success of 'Wanted Wednesday.'" This shows what our community, working together, can achieve."

Sexual Assault Alert, Boy, 14, arrested, faces four charges

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a Sexual Assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

- on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, a young girl was sexually assaulted by a 14-year-old boy at the YMCA at 230 Town Centre Court.

The boy, 14, was arrested and charged with:

1) Invitation to Sexual Touching
2) Sexual Exploitation
3) Sexual Assault of person under 16 years of age
4) Indecent Exposure to a person under 16 years of age

The boy's identity cannot be disclosed under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Police believe there may be other victims.

Man wanted in Break-and-Enter and Harassment investigation, Ali Moshir, 43, Photograph released

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance locating Ali Moshir, 43, of Richmond Hill, New York City.

It is alleged that:

- on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, a man traveled from New York to Toronto

- the man broken into a home in the Warden Avenue and Sheppard Avenue East area

- he was located by the home owner, at approximately 6 p.m., and fled to an unknown location

Ali Moshir, 43, of Richmond Hill, New York City, is wanted on a warrant for:

1) Criminal Harassment
2) Break-and-Enter
3) Unlawfully in a Dwelling

He is described as 5'2", 130 lbs., brown eyes and now bald.

If located, do not approach. Call 9-1-1.

On Monday, January 18, 2016, the Toronto Police Service sought the public's assistance identifying six men wanted in a Robbery investigation from Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at 312 Yonge Street.

On Friday, January 29, 2016, members of 52 Division Major Crime Unit arrested a 16-year-old boy, suspect #3 in the previous release.

The boy, 16, of Toronto was charged with:

1) Robbery with an Offensive Weapon
2) Aggravated Assault
3) Assault with a Weapon
4) Carry Concealed Weapon
5) Possession of Weapons Dangerous
6) Fail to Comply with a Youth Court Disposition

He appeared in court at 311 Jarvis Street, on Friday, January 29, 2016, 10 a.m, room 311-1.

Because he is under 18, he cannot be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act and his image can no longer be published under the provisions of the same act.

110. (1) Subject to this section, no person shall publish the name of a young person, or any other information related to a young person, if it would identify the young person as a young person dealt with under this Act.*

Police are requesting assistance with a robbery investigation in the John Street and Adelaide Street West area.

It is reported that:

- on Saturday, January 16, 2016, at 2:42 p.m., a man walked into a restaurant

- he ordered food and asked if the cashier could make change for a $100 bill

- when the cash registered was opened, the man reached over the counter and took a quantity of cash

- another employee tried to stop the man

- the man hit the other employee and ran away with the cash

Missing boy located, McLevin Avenue and Sewells Road area, Orion Neguse, 14

Homicide #7/2016, 160 Playfair Avenue, Domenico Scopelliti, 51, wanted for First-Degree Murder

On Friday, January 29, 2016, at 5:08 p.m., officers responded to a call for a shooting in the Playfair Avenue and Caledonia Road area.

It is alleged that:

- officers arrived to find a man with a gunshot wound

- lifesaving efforts were made at the scene

- the man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced

The identity of the man is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

A post-mortem examination will be conducted on Saturday, January 30, 2016.

Domenico Scopelliti, 51, of Toronto, has been identified as the suspect in this homicide. He is now wanted for:

1) First-Degree Murder

He is considered armed and dangerous. If located, do not approach. Call 9-1-1.

TPS officers and Toronto Community Housing Special Constables will go door-to-door, providing residents with safety tips and Crime Stoppers information.

Two men wanted in home invasion/Robbery investigation, Security camera images released

The Toronto Police Service is seeking the public's assistance identifying two men wanted in a home invasion/Robbery investigation.

On Sunday, January 17, 2016, at 10:50 p.m., an 18-year-old woman was in a condo in the Blue Jays Way and Front Street West area.

It is reported that:

- two men entered the condo

- they grabbed the woman, tied up her hands, and locked her in a washroom

- a 43-year-old man, the resident of the condo, returned home

- he was surprised by the assailants and punched in the face

- a cell phone, some cash and a safe were taken

- the men fled

Security camera images of the two men are now released.

The first suspect is described as white, late-30s-to-40s, medium build, wearing grey pants, a grey Adidas hoodie, a dark toque and carrying a dark backpack.

The second suspect is described as white, late-30s-to-40s, medium build, wearing a dark-blue hooded jacket and a red toque.

Homicide #7/2016, 160 Playfair Avenue

On Friday, January 29, 2016, at 5:08 p.m., officers responded to a call for a shooting in the Playfair Avenue and Caledonia Road area.

It is alleged that:

- officers arrived to find a man with a gunshot wound

- lifesaving efforts were made at the scene

- the man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced

The victim is now identified as Rocco Zito, 87, of Toronto.

Domenico Scopelliti, 51, of Toronto, surrendered to police on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at midnight. He has been charged with:

1) First-Degree Murder

He appeared in court at Old City Hall on Saturday, January 30, 2016, 10 a.m., room 111.

Homicides #8/2016 and #9/2016, Spadina Avenue and Nassau Street

On Sunday, January 31, 2016, at 3:15 a.m., police responded to the Spadina Avenue and Nassau Street area for a report of a shooting.

It is reported that:

- a group of men was involved in an altercation in the area of the intersection of Spadina Avenue and Nassau Street, on the west side of Spadina Avenue

- a suspect fired at the group, wounding five people

- one victim was pronounced dead at the scene, four were taken to hospital

- a second victim succumbed to his injuries at approximately 8:45 a.m., Sunday, January 31, 2016

- the remaining three victims remain in hospital

The identities of the victims will not be released until next-of-kin have been notified.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area, who may have seen something, and ask they contact police. If anyone has video or images from the scene at the time of the shooting, they are also asked to call police.

On Saturday, January 30, 2016, at 10:44 p.m., the Toronto Police Service received a report of gunshots in the Islington Ave and Bloor Street West area.

It is reported that:

- at 10:44 p.m., a number of gunshots were fired at a vehicle travelling in the area of Islington Avenue and Bloor Street West.

- no injuries were sustained

- there was minor damage done to the motor vehicle

Police seek assistance with Sexual Assault Investigation, Ryerson Avenue and Queen Street West area

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance with a Sexual Assault investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at 11:55 p.m., a woman, 25, was walking in the Ryerson Avenue and Queen Street West area

- a man grabbed the woman from behind and forced her into the Linda Griffith Laneway

- the suspect knocked the woman to the ground and sexually assaulted her

- the assault was interrupted by a passer-by

- the suspect fled the scene, westbound

The suspect is described as white, 30-40, 5'11", chubby build, approximately 250 lbs., with short ,wavy black-or-dark-brown hair, unshaven, with a large nose, wearing a dark, hooded sweater, dark-gray track pants and dark shoes.

Police are appealing to witnesses who may have been in the area at the time of the assault to contact police.

Homicide #10/2016, Sylvia Consuelo, 31

On Saturday, January 30, 2016, at approximately 4:45 a.m., police responded to a radio call for a sudden death at an apartment complex at 121 Kendleton Drive .

It is reported that:

- acquaintances attended the residence to socialize with a 31-year-old woman

- the acquaintances found the woman deceased

The woman has been identified as Sylvia Consuelo, 31, of Toronto.

On Sunday, January 31, 2016, a post-mortem examination was conducted. The cause of death will not be released for the time being.

Police are appealing to witnesses who may be able to provide any information on Sylvia Consuelo's whereabouts from Friday, January 29, 2016, onward.

Fatal collision #7/2016, Dufferin Street, south of Armstrong Avenue

On Saturday, January 30, 2016, at 5:53 p.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collision at Dufferin Street, south of Armstrong Avenue.

It is reported that:

- a 90-year-old woman was attempting to cross Dufferin Street, south of Armstrong Avenue

- a 39-year-old man was driving a Honda CRV, northbound on Dufferin Street, approaching Armstrong Avenue

- the woman was struck by the vehicle

The 90-year-old woman was taken to hospital where she was pronounced.
