Homicide #22/2015, 12-year-old boy, 15 Richmond Street East

On Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at approximately 5:50 a.m., officers responded to a stabbing call at 15 Richmond Street East.

Officers arrived and located a 12-year-old boy suffering from obvious injuries.

The boy was taken to hospital via emergency run and was later pronounced in hospital.

TPS Homicide is investigating.

The identity of the victim will not be released at this time.

A man has been arrested, his identity will not be released pending charges.

Homicide detectives would like anyone who may have seen or heard anything to contact police.

Police request assistance in identifying a man involved in a Threatening Death Investigation, Spadina Avenue and Adelaide Street West

The Toronto Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man involved in a threatening death investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Friday, April 10, 2015, at approximately 3:15 p.m., two men in the area of Spadina Avenue and Adelaide Street West entered a store

- the men got into a verbal disagreement with a 23-year-old man inside the store and one of the men threatened him

He is described as black, 6'3", approximately 200 lbs., dreadlock-style haircut, wearing a black baseball cap and a black hoodie-style jacket.

Police seek public's assistance in identifying two men involved in an Assault Causing Bodily Harm investigation, Security camera images released

The Toronto Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying two men wanted for assault causing bodily harm.

It is reported that:

- on Saturday, May 9, 2015, at 1:10 a.m., in the Bathurst Street and Bloor Street West area, a man and woman were approached by two men

- a physical altercation ensued between the two men and the man

- the two men punched the man and the man lost consciousness

The two men are described as:

1) white, 5'8", 20- to 21-years-old, athletic build, short black hair, grey tooth on the left side of his mouth and has tattoos on left hand "mob" and "$" symbol. He was wearing a dark t-shirt, Nike shorts with a 3D cube pattern and Adidas sandals.

2) white, 5'9", 20- to 21-years- old, medium build, black hair and has facial hair. He was wearing dark jeans, a black t-shirt and a baseball cap.

Missing woman, Alicia Harrison, 26

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a missing woman.

Alicia Harrison, 26, was last seen on Friday, April 10, 2015, in the Sherbourne Street and Shuter Street area.

She is described as white, 5'8", 160 lbs., long brown hair and green eyes. It is unknown what clothing she was last wearing.

The police are concerned for her safety.

Police seek public's assistance in a break-and-enter investigation, Old Kingston Road and Morrish Road

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance in a break-and-enter investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Sunday, May 31, 2015, a man and woman broke into a business in the Old Kingston Road and Morrish Road area

- the man and woman took a quantity of auto parts

Police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the man and woman who are both persons of interest.

The woman is described as white, mid 30's, with black hair. She was wearing a black knee-high dress, a black-and-white-checkered shirt and a black top hat.

The man is described as white, mid to late 30's, heavy build, brown hair, and has an unshaven appearance. He was wearing blue jeans, white t-shirt and black jacket.

Fatal collision #27/2015, Lawrence Avenue East at McCowan Road

On Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at approximately 12:32 p.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collision at Lawrence Avenue East at McCowan Road.

It is reported that:

- an 82-year-old woman was driving a Chevrolet Cobalt, westbound on Lawrence Avenue East at McCowan Road

- an 84-year-old woman was driving a Honda Civic, westbound on Lawrence Avenue East at McCowan Road

- a 70-year-old woman was attempting to cross Lawrence Avenue East on the east side of McCowan Road

- the woman was struck by the Chevrolet Cobalt,

- after the collision, the Honda Civic rear-ended the Chevrolet Cobalt

The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

At approximately 5 a.m. this morning, police executed more than 40 search warrants across the Greater Toronto Area as part of Project Pharaoh.

Inspector Bryan Bott, of the Integrated Gun & Gang Task Force, will update the media this morning at 10 a.m., at 23 Division, located at 5230 Finch Avenue West.

Missing woman, Jean Walks, 74

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance locating a missing woman.

Jean Walks, 74, was last seen on Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at 2:40 p.m. in the Warden Avenue and Finch Avenue East area.

She is described as black with a light complexion, 5'3", heavy build, 170 lbs., with short grey hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a blue and gold long-sleeved shirt, blue sweatpants and black jacket with gold accents.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Toronto Police Target Guns and Gangs in Project Pharaoh

During the early morning hours of Thursday, June 4, 2015, members of the Toronto Police Service with the assistance of other law enforcement partners, executed 50 search warrants in the Greater Toronto Area, including the areas of Peel, Hamilton, Halton, Barrie and Brantford, as part of Project Pharaoh.

In total, more than 60 people have been arrested for their alleged involvement in criminal organizations, including the street gang known as “Monstarz”.

Led by the Integrated Gun & Gang Task Force and the OPP’s Provincial Weapons Unit, the ongoing investigation was helped by the Toronto Police Service’s Major Crime Task Force, Drug Squad, Intelligence, the Firearms Enforcement Unit, and Computer Cyber-Crime (C3).

This morning’s warrants were executed with the assistance of the RCMP, OPP, Guelph Police Service, Peel Region Police Service, York Region Police, Durham Region Police Service, Barrie Police Service and Niagara Region Police Service.

A list of those arrested and the charges they face will be made available on Friday, June 5, 2015.

Jean Walks, 74, was last seen on Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at 2:40 p.m. in the Warden Avenue and Finch Avenue East area.

She was located on Thursday, June 4, 2015, at 8 a.m.

She was found safe and returned home.

Homicide #20/2015, Mahmedaarif "Arif" Patel, 23, Man charged with Second Degree Murder, Syed Mohammed Ali Zaidi, 19

On Monday, June 1, 2015, at approximately 2:10 p.m., officers responded to a call for a shooting in the area of 3601 Lawrence Avenue East.

It is alleged that:

- two men were involved in a fight

- one man shot the other man

The man succumbed to his injuries. He has been identified as Mahmedaarif "Arif" Patel, 23, of Toronto.

On Wednesday, June 3, 2015, Syed Mohammed Ali Zaidi, 19, of Toronto surrendered to police. He has been charged with:

1) Second Degree Murder
2) Careless use of a Firearm
3) Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace
4) Carry a Concealed Weapon
5) Use Firearm while Committing a Indictable Offence
6) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
7) Possession of a Firearm while its possession is unauthorized
8) Possession of a Restricted Weapon
9) Possession of a Firearm contrary to a Prohibited Order

He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, June 4, 2015, at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East, at 10 a.m.

Homicide Detectives are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have information to contact investigators.

Police Request Assistance with Sexual Assault Investigation, Dundas Street West and Mabelle Avenue

On Thursday, June 4, 2015, the Toronto Police Service received a radio call for a sexual assault in the area of Dundas Street West and Mabelle Avenue.

It is reported that:

- at approximately 5 a.m., a 24-year-old woman was awakened by an unknown man in her apartment

- the woman was sexually assaulted by the man

- the man fled the area

He is described as black, 6'0", has a pot belly and spoke with a Caribbean accent. He was wearing dark pants and a light-coloured long-sleeved top.

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of recent distraction-type Robberies in 42 Division.

Security camera images of the three suspects are now available.

These men are described as:

#1 white, olive complexion, 5'6", heavy build, shaved head

#2 white, olive complexion, 5'9" – 6", slim build, short dark hair

#3 white, olive complexion, 5'9" – 6", slim build, short dark hair

Police are asking the public to contact the police immediately if they see anything they deem unusual or anything suspicious in and around financial institutions.
