Man wanted in attempted kidnapping investigation, Eric Coplin-Duran, 18, Update, Man arrested, facing three charges in attempted kidnapping investigation

On Saturday, April 27, 2013, police arrested a man in connetion with a attempted kidnapping investigation.

On Saturday, April 27, 2013, Eric Coplan-Duran, 18, was arrested and charged with:

1) Conspiracy to commit indictable offence
2) Assault
3) Attempt Kidnapping

He was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall, on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at 10 a.m. courtroom 101.

Police have not yet identified the other man allegedly involved in the attempted kidnapping, described as a black male, but are requesting the assistance of anyone who knows him.

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a sexual assault investigation.

On Sunday, September 30, 2012, at 9:30 a.m, police responded to a call for unknown trouble in the Finch Avenue East/Don Mills Road area.

On Monday, April 29, 2013, Wayne Connell, 20, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

1. Weapons Dangerous
2. Uttering a Death Threat
3. Forcible Confinement
4. Assault
5. Sexual Assault with a Weapon

He was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Monday, April 29, 2013, at 10 a.m., room 101.

A photograph of the man has been released. Police believe there may be more victims.

The Toronto Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance locating a missing man.

Julian King, 80, of Connecticut, was last seen on Friday, April 26, 2013, in the morning hours in the Bathurst Street/St. Clair Avenue West area. He arrived in Toronto on Thursday, April 25, 2013, via bus, at the Toronto Bus Terminal.

Public Safety Alert, Suspicious incident, Eglinton Avenue East/Laird Drive

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a suspicious incident in the Eglinton Avenue East /Laird Drive area.

It is reported that:

- on Monday, April 29, 2013, at 12:30 p.m., a man approached a 15-year-old girl and asked for directions

- the man then asked the girl to come with him and took hold of her wrist

- a woman witnessed what was happening and intervened

- the man continued walking eastbound along Eglinton Avenue East

The man is described as having a light-brown complexion, in his 50s, 5’5"-5’6", with a heavy build and bald. He was wearing a black jacket with dark jeans.

Rick Hazzard, 23, was last seen on Monday, April 29, 2013, at approximately 4 p.m., in the Weston Road/Lawrence Avenue West area.

He is described as black, 5'8", 150 lbs., with short hair and a thin face. He is non-verbal and autistic.

Police are concerned for his safety.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a missing man.

Eddo Andreatta, 80, was last seen on Monday, April 29, 2013, at approximately 1 p.m., in the Finch Avenue West/Islington Avenue area.

He is described as 5'10", 210 lbs., with brown eyes, and thinning, short, white hair. He was wearing a dark-coloured jacket, brown pants and a plaid shirt. He was driving a blue 2006 Toyota Matrix with Ontario licence plate BDYY 479.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Public assistance sought with security services company robbery

The Toronto Police Service is seeking the public's assistance with a security services company robbery investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Sunday, April 14, 2013, in the early-morning hours, the INKAS Security Services Company was robbed by two men

- the men entered the premises while armed with a silver-coloured handgun, and made demands for cash

- the victim was bound and struck with a handgun, causing facial injuries

- the men fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in a dark, possibly grey, two-door coupe, driven by a third suspect

The first man is described as black, 6', wearing black clothing.

The second man is described as black, shorter than 6', wearing black clothing.

On Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at 3:26 a.m., police responded to a stabbing call at 1678 Kingston Road.

Officers attended and located a man, in his late 50s, suffering from obvious wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The name of the victim is not being released at this time.

A post-mortem examination is to be scheduled.

A 23-year-old man was arrested at the scene. No charges have laid at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.

On Monday, April 29, 2013, at 2:06 p.m, police responded to a fight call at 2020 Sheppard Avenue West.

Police responded and located a 47-year-old man suffering from obvious trauma. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police arrested a man at the scene.

The victim has been identified as Valence Mills, 47, of Toronto.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled for Tuesday, April 30, 2013.

Ian Senior, 30, of Toronto, has been charged with First-Degree Murder.

He was scheduled to appear in count at on 1000 Finch Avenue West on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, room 306, 10 a.m.

Sexual Assault Alert, Man wanted

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a sexual assault that occurred on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, between 10:30 p.m. and 11 p.m.

It is reported that:

- a 21-year-old woman boarded a bus at Warden subway station and a man followed her onto the bus

- when the woman exited the bus in the Brimley Road/St. Clair Avenue East area, the man also exited at the same bus stop

- as the woman was walking, the man approached her from behind and sexually assaulted her

- he was last seen walking westbound on St. Clair Avenue East

The man is described as having a light-black complexion, 25-30, 5’8", 150 lbs., medium build, black hair worn in a ponytail. He was wearing blue baggy jeans and black jacket.

On Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at 3:26 a.m., police from 41 Division responded to a stabbing call at 1678 Kingston Road.

Officers attended and located a 58-year-old man suffering from obvious wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The name of the victim has not been released, pending notification of next-of-kin.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled for Wednesday, May 1, 2013.

Kalib Dufty, 23, of Toronto, is charged with:

1. Second-Degree Murder

He is scheduled to appear in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, room 412, 10 a.m.

The investigation is ongoing.

On Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., in the lobby at headquarters, the Toronto Police Service will be joined by the Honourable Laurel Broten, MPP for Etobicoke-Lakeshore and Minister Responsible for Women's Issues and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, to kick off Sexual Assault Awareness Month in partnership with the Toronto Police Service's Sexual Assault Advisory Committee and students from Seneca College's Graphic Design program.

This year's theme is "Report Support" and the Toronto Police Service will be working with its community partners to encourage survivors of sexual assault to tell their story by reporting it to police and seeking support in the community.

A graphic arts campaign by Seneca College students and a video message from a sexual assault survivor will be featured.

Members of the media are invited to attend the event. The campaigns and the video will be posted on the Toronto Police Service's website and social media accounts. Follow #sexassault or #saam2013 on Twitter or visit us on Facebook for event details.

Police request assistance identifying man wanted in bank robbery, Security images of man released

The Toronto Police Service Hold Up Squad is requesting the public's assistance identifying a man wanted in a robbery investigation.

It is alleged that:

- On Saturday, April 13, 2013, at 10:20 a.m., a man walked into the CIBC bank at Finch Avenue West/Weston Road, approached the bank teller and handed over a note

- the note indicated that this was a hold-up and that he was armed with a gun

- the man was given a quantity of money and he took back his hold-up note

- he was seen fleeing west along Finch Avenue West

Security camera images of the man have been released.

The man is described as white with a tanned complexion, 30-40, 5’6". He was wearing black trackpants with white stripes down the side, a black t-shirt with a grey hoodie and a black/red baseball cap.

Arrest made in drug investigation, Ping Jiang, 44, faces production-related charges

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a drug investigation.

On Tuesday, April 30, 2013, members of the Toronto Drug Squad executed a search warrant in the Gerrard Street East/Leslie Street area.

It is alleged that:

- the commercial premises was licensed under the Medical Marijuana Access Regulations

- their production was in excess of the authorized amount by 2,203 plants at a street value of $2,203,000

- the amount in excess, which could be reproduced every two-to-three months, was for the purpose of trafficking

It is further alleged that the following was seized:

- 2,203 marijuana plants
- 20,250 grams of dry marijuana
- high-intensity light bulbs
- $515 in cash

On Tuesday, April 30, 2013, Ping Jiang, 44, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1) Produce marijuana
2) Possession for the purpose of trafficking marijuana (over)
3) Possession of proceeds of crime.

He is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall in courtroom 103, on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at 9 a.m.

The Toronto Police Service wants to remind the public to be alert for marijuana grow-operations in their community and to call the police or Crime Stoppers if they are suspicious of any unusual activity in their neighbourhood.

55 Division's Crime Management Team, in this week's installment of "Wanted Wednesday," is looking for Hossein Moeinifar, 45.

He is currently before the courts for Arson-Disregarding Life.

It is alleged that:

- he contacted a witness involved in this case and threatened to kill them if they testified against him

He is wanted for:

1) Threaten death
2) Attempt to obstruct Justice

He is described as brown, 5'3", approximately 165 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes.
