Public Safety Alert, Kingston Road and McCowan Road area, Lost medication

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a quantity of lost medication.

On Thursday, March 4, 2021, a quantity of medication was lost in the area of Kingston Road and McCowan Road area.

The lost medication contained THC flour, THC gel capsules, THC oil, and cigarette tobacco.

The pills could be harmful and/or fatal if ingested, especially to children.

Catherine Bonnett,40, was last seen on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, in the Yonge Street and Cummer Avenue area.

She is described as 5'4, 180lbs, with shoulder length dark curly hair.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Arrest Made in Unprovoked Attack On TTC Bus, Police believe there are more victims, Update, More images released

Officers investigating an assault on a TTC bus have released further images.

On Monday, March 1, 2021 at approximately 9:40 a.m., a 57-year-old woman was on board a TTC bus travelling westbound on Dundas Street and Shaw Street.

Investigators are asking anyone who has been assaulted in a similar unprovoked manner to contact police.

Arson Investigation, Victoria Park Avenue and Sunrise Avenue area, Images released

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arson investigation.

On Tuesday, February 23, 2021, police investigated fires in the Victoria Park Avenue and Sunrise Avenue and the Victoria Park Avenue and Parma Court areas.

It is reported that:

- two suspects set fire to two tow trucks

- both suspects were last seen fleeing the area in a silver Ford F-150 with stolen licence plates attached

Images of the suspects have been released.

The 23 Division Warrant Office is seeking the public’s assistance locating Loyaan Ahmed, 29, of Toronto.

He is wanted for the following charges:

1. four counts of Theft Not Exceeding $5000
2. eight counts of Breach of Probation

He is described as being 6’0”, 229 lbs., with short black hair and with brown eyes.

Woman Arrested for Carjacking, Pharmacy Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East area, Shannon Kutt, 25

A woman has been arrested as part of a gunpoint carjacking investigation.

On Friday, February 26, 2021, at approximately 4:44 p.m., police responded to a gunpoint robbery in the Pharmacy Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East area.

It is alleged that:

- the victim and a lone female suspect were travelling together in the victim’s pickup truck

- the pair drove to a parking lot, parked the truck and sat inside

- the two began to argue and the victim got out of the truck

- the woman pulled out a large black handgun, threatened the victim and then drove off in the truck

- the victim was left at the side of the road

Members of the Hold Up Squad conducted an investigation and were able to identify a suspect. With the assistance of Durham Regional Police, Shannon Kutt, 25, of Toronto, was arrested on Thursday, March 4, 2021.

She is facing the following six charges:

1. Robbery with a Firearm
2. Theft of Motor Vehicle
3. Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle
4. Operate a Conveyance While Prohibited
5. Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over
6. Fail to Comply Release Order

She is scheduled to appear at court on Friday, March 5, 2021, at 10 a.m., at the Toronto East Court, 1911 Eglinton Avenue East, Room 412

Missing Woman Located, Dundas Street West and Scarlett Road area, Amanda Killeen, 33

A homicide victim has now been formally identified as missing woman Amanda Killeen.

On Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at 3:58 a.m., officers attended 291 George Street as part of inquiries into a missing woman.

Through investigation, human remains were discovered and tests have confirmed it is the body of Amanda Killeen, 32, of Toronto.

She was previously last seen on Friday, February 19, 2021, at 10:30 a.m., in the Dundas Street West and Scarlett Road area.

The homicide investigation remains active and investigators continue to appeal for information.

Norwan Karyar, 26, was last seen on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at 6:30 a.m., in The Kingsway and Anglesey Boulevard area.

She is described as 5'6, with a thin build, long black hair and brown eyes.

She was wearing a dark bomber jacket, orange toque with ear flaps, a long navy dress and flip flops.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Man arrested after intentionally crashing into a police car, threatened officer with a knife, Ellesmere Road and Gander Drive area, Lamont Hunter, 47

On Saturday, March 6, 2021, at 7:54 a.m., a police officer was working in the Ellesmere Road and Gander Drive area.

It is reported that:

- the police officer was stopped in a marked scout car at an intersection

- the driver of a vehicle intentionally hit the scout car

- the driver got out of his vehicle and brandished a knife toward the officer

- officers arrested the driver

Lamont Hunter, 47, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1. Attempt murder

2. Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle

3. Two counts of Assault a peace officer with a weapon

4. Weapons Dangerous

5. Fail to comply with release order

He will be appearing in court at Old City Hall on Sunday, March 7, 2021, at 10am in room 112.

He was wearing a black medium length jacket, black track pants with a white stripe and white and grey running shoes.

Alysha Pilcher, 27, was last seen on Saturday, March 6, 2021 in the Kingston Road and Lawrence Avenue East area.

She is described as 5’5", skinny build, dyed straight long blonde hair, with tattoos on her wrist, shoulder, lower back and ankle.

Child Sexual Abuse Investigation, Man faces more charges

The Toronto Police Service’s Sex Crimes – Child & Youth Advocacy Centre (CYAC) would like to make the public aware of additional charges laid against a man as part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of child sexual abuse.

On October 21, 2013, a man attended a home in the High Park area to cut hair for a boy.

On that date, an 11-year-old boy reported that the man sexually assaulted him. Officers from the CYAC started an investigation and a man was immediately arrested.

Jorge Nieto Zelaya, 45-years-old at that time, of Toronto, was charged with:

1. Four counts of Sexual Assault
2. Four counts of Sexual Interference
3. Two counts of Invitation to Sexual Touching
4. Exposure to person under the age of sixteen years

On September 18, 2015, he was convicted on four counts and was sentenced to twelve months to be served concurrently.

On February 16, 2021, another victim came forward to police.

It is alleged that:

- between 2011 and 2015, the man was cutting the boy's hair

- during this time, he sexually assaulted the boy on numerous occasions

- this took place in the area of Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue and 110 Wellesley Street, in Toronto.

On Monday, March 1, 2021, Jorge Nieto Zelaya, now 53, was arrested and charged with:

1. Sexual Assault
2. Expose Genitals to Person under 16 years of age for Sexual Purpose
3. Invitation to Sexual Touching
4. Sexual Interference
5. Two counts of Fail to Comply with Release Order

He was released on bail and is next scheduled to appear in court on April 16, 2021, at 9 a.m., at Old City Hall, in room 117.

Police believe there may be other victims.

Jorge Nieto Zelaya is known to have worked in the following hair salons in Toronto and Windsor:

- Morpheus Salon, 105 Adelaide Street West, Toronto (2013)

- Sabin Salon, 3100 Howard Avenue, Windsor (2015 – 2020)

- La Vida Salon, 1580 Ouellette Avenue, Windsor (2015 -2020)

He would also cut hair at his own apartment, located at 110 Wellesley Street, in Toronto, as well as client’s homes in Toronto.

investigators from the Toronto Police Service, in collaboration with members of the Catholic Children's Aid Society, the Children's Aid Society of Toronto, the Hospital for Sick Children's Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect Program (SCAN), Radius Child & Youth Services, and Boost Child & Youth Advocacy Centre.
