On Monday, February 23, 2015, the TPS Out-of-Province Habitual Offender Initiative started. Its aim is to to improve traffic flow as well as compliance with the city’s parking regulations.

The first week's results (Monday, February 23, 2015 - Sunday, March 1, 2015) are:
Habitual offenders with Ontario licence plates towed: 470
Habitual offenders with out-of-province licence plates towed: 145
Total habitual offenders towed : 615
Total vehicles towed for 2015: 923
