Police request assistance with stabbing investigation on TTC bus, Sheppard Avenue East and Consumers Road

The Toronto Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance identifying a man wanted in a stabbing investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Thursday, January 1, 2015, between 4:30 a.m. and 5:10 a.m., a 19-year-old man was on a TTC bus eastbound on Sheppard Avenue East

- an unknown man boarded the bus and approached the man and his girlfriend

- there was an exchange of words that escalated into a physical altercation

- the unknown man then slashed the victim's face with a knife

- all three people then exited the bus in the Sheppard Avenue East and Consumers Road area

- the unknown man was last seen eastbound on Sheppard Avenue East

The man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The unknown man is described as black, 20-30, 6'0", bald, and a thin build. He was wearing a black fedora hat, black leather jacket, blue jeans and a red or black shirt.
