On Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., the Canadian Bankers Association, Toronto Police Hold Up, and York Region Police Hold Up Unit held a press conference in relation to an investigation of a series of bank robberies involving the "Vaulter Bandit."

See previous release.

It is reported that:

- from February 2010 to date, the Vaulter Bandit has robbed 18 banks in the GTA, Ottawa and Calgary

- on Monday, May 5, 2014, at 7 a.m., he attended a bank in the Don Mills Road/Lawrence Avenue East area

- armed with a handgun, he confronted the branch manager, gained access to the bank vault, and fled with money

The man started his crime spree in 2010. Between February and August 2010, it is reported he committed seven bank robberies in Vaughan and Markham by jumping over the teller counter, emptying the cash drawers and jumping back over the counter before fleeing.

Towards the end of 2010, the man then started targeting banks in Mississauga and Hamilton.

In February 2011, the man appeared in Calgary and committed four robberies in ten days.

In May 2011, he returned to Vaughan and attempted an early-morning robbery. Unsuccessful, he then travelled to Ottawa where he continued his crimes.

He is described as white, over 50, 5'8"-5'10", with grey or salt-and-pepper hair. He wears glasses and is physically fit.

The Canadian Bankers Association is announcing an increased reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for these bank robberies.
