On Sunday, April 27, 2014, the "Backs in Motion 5k & 10k Run/Walk" will take place.
The event will form up at approximately 8 a.m., at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, at 6100 Leslie Street.
The Run/Walk will start in two waves: 8:45 a.m., for the 10k run and 9:15 a.m., for the 5k run. The runners will proceed southbound on Leslie Street, west on Finch Avenue, and northbound into and through the parkland and finish at the CMCC. All participants will utilize the marked curb lanes only.
5k route:
Formation - 6100 Leslie Street
South - Leslie Street (curb lane)
West - Finch Avenue (curb lane)
North - Parkland entrance, west of Pineway Blvd.
South - Leslie Street
Dispersal - 6100 Leslie Street
10k route:
Formation - 6100 Leslie Street
South - Leslie Street (curb lane)
West - Finch Avenue (curb lane)
North - Parkland entrance, west of Pineway Blvd., loop through the park
South - Leslie Street
Dispersal - 6100 Leslie Street
The organizers of the event are expecting approximately 600 runners. As Leslie Street and Finch Avenue will be reduced to one lane, some congestion is expected during the period of the event.
