On Thursday, January 17, 2019, at approximately 9:20 p.m., police responded to a call for a collision at Lennox Street at Bathurst Street.
It is reported that:
- the driver operating a large green truck, possibly a garbage truck, was travelling east on Lennox Street stopped at Bathurst Street
- at that time, a man was walking on the south west corner of Lennox Street and Bathurst Street and fell onto the road
- the driver of the green truck turned right onto Bathurst Street, struck the man and continued south on Bathurst Street
- the man who was walking succumbed to his injuries at the scene
The investigation is ongoing by members of Traffic Services and efforts are being made to identify the fatally injured man.
Police are asking local residents, business, and drivers, who may have security or dash camera footage of the area or incident, to contact investigators.
