The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a missing man.

Jevon Coveny, 43, was last seen on Sunday, December 27, 2020, in the Dufferin Street and King Street West area.

He is described as 5'10", with short brown and grey hair, and has a beard.

He was last seen wearing a black baseball hat, blue jacket, blue vest, dark coloured jogging pants, brown construction boots and he was carrying a dark coloured duffle bag.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Missing woman located, Queen Street East and Sherbourne Street area, Nadine Tag-El-Din, 48

Fail to Remain Personal Injury Collision, Markham Road and Lawrence Avenue East area

On Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at 12:43 a.m., officers responded to a fail to remain collision that occurred in a parking lot in the Markham Road and Lawrence Avenue East area.

It is reported that:

- a 27-year-old woman was with a man in a parking lot when the driver of a westbound vehicle struck her

- the woman suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision

- a man exited the passenger side of the involved vehicle and got into an altercation with the man who was with the injured woman

- the driver of the vehicle, believed to be a woman, and a male passenger fled westbound in the parking lot in a blue Nissan Sentra.

Police are looking to identify the man and woman who fled the scene and are asking any witnesses who may have been in the area, or who may have dash cam footage, to contact investigators.

Break and Enter Investigation, Bremner Boulevard and Navy Wharf Court area, Assistance sought identifying suspects

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance identifying suspects in a Break and Enter investigation that occurred in the Bremner Boulevard and Navy Wharf Court area.

It is reported that:

- on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, three individuals attended a residential building

- the individuals attended a unit in the building and gained entry by using force

- the individuals stole a quantity of money and valuables

Suspect #1 is described as a man, Asian, wearing a blue baseball hat, a dark sweater, dark track pants with a red stripe, brown shoes, and a surgical mask.

Suspect #2 is described as a man, Asian, wearing a blue baseball hat, a dark winter jacket, blue jeans, blue shoes, and a surgical mask.

Suspect #3 is described as wearing a brown wig, a pink hoodie over a red sweater, light blue jeans, grey running shoes, a surgical mask and a black backpack.

Traffic Fatality #40/2020, Kennedy Road and Sheppard Avenue East

On Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at 5:20 p.m., police received a report of a personal injury collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian at Kennedy Road and Sheppard Avenue East.

It is reported:

- a 56-year-old man was crossing from the north east corner to the north west corner of Kennedy Road and Sheppard Avenue East

- an unknown driver in a dark coloured sedan was travelling eastbound on Sheppard Avenue East, turning left to go northbound on Kennedy Road

- the vehicle struck the pedestrian in the crosswalk

- the pedestrian succumbed to their injuries at the scene

The investigation is ongoing by members of Traffic Services. Police are requesting local residents, businesses, and drivers, who may have security or dash camera footage of the area or incident, to contact investigators.

The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (R.O.P.E.) Squad is updating the public on the arrest of a man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.

Jordan Welch, 32, is currently serving a two-year and one-day sentence.

On Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at 5:20 p.m., police received a report of a personal injury collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian at Kennedy Road and Sheppard Avenue East.

- the vehicle is believed to be a Chrysler 300, 2005-2010 model, dark-coloured (silver or teal), missing its driver-side mirror

- the vehicle failed to remain at the scene and continued to travel northbound on Kennedy Road

- a second vehicle, believed to be a white or silver crossover or SUV, had also struck the pedestrian. The vehicle failed to remain at the scene and continued to travel northbound on Kennedy Road

The investigation is ongoing by members of Traffic Services. Police are requesting local residents, businesses, and drivers, who may have security or dash camera footage of the area or incident, to contact investigators.

Public Safety Alert, McCowan Road and Eglinton Avenue East area, Hazardous Substance Found

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of hazardous substances found in a public park.

On Friday January 1, 2021, at 1:12 p.m., several 2 litre plastic bottles containing a white substance were found near a park in the McCowan Road and Eglinton Avenue East area.

The contents of the bottles are combustible, considered hazardous and should not be touched.

Should any suspicious bottles be located, please contact police immediately.

Personal Injury Collision 1/2021, Keele Street / Sheppard Avenue West

On Friday, January 1, 2021, at 11:29 a.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collission involving three motor vehicles at the intersection of Keele Street and Sheppard Avenue West.

It is reported that:

- a black 2012 Mercedes M350 SUV was travelling northbound on Keele Street, entered the intersection at Sheppard Avenue West and struck a motor vehicle that was travelling westbound on Sheppard Avenue

- the Mercedes lost control, then hit a stopped vehicle before flipping over and coming to rest on the boulevard on the west side of Keele Street, north of Sheppard Avenue

- an occupant was pulled out of the vehicle with the assistance of unknown person(s) who were in the area at the time of the collision.

The investigation is ongoing by members of Traffic Services. Police are interested in speaking to the person(s) that assisted the occupant out of the motor vehicle as well as local residents, business and drivers, who may have security or dash camera footage of the area or incident.

Marvel Banda, 30, was last seen on Saturday, January 2, 2021, at 10 p.m., in the Lansdowne Avenue and Bloor Street West area.

He is described as 5'1", 120 lbs., short brown hair with a long thin braid at the back, green eyes and clean shaven. He has tattoos on his arms, neck and a tattoo of a feather on the right side of his head.

He was last seen wearing a black nylon bicycle jacket, a black hooded jacket with the hood up, black pants, a neon orange beanie and he was carrying a black backpack.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Sexual Assault Alert, Kingston Road and Midland Avenue area, Man Wanted

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a Sexual Assault investigation in the Kingston Road and Midland Avenue area.

It is reported that:

- on Sunday, January 3, 2021, at approximately 1:10 a.m., the female victim was walking when she was approached from behind by a man

- she was grabbed, pushed to the ground, and sexually assaulted

- the man fled the scene eastbound on foot

The man is described as white, 5’11”- 6’0”, 175-200 lbs., 19-30 years old, with brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing a black winter jacket with the hood up, a dark mask or face covering, black pants and white sneakers.
