The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance in locating a missing woman.

Cecilia Alexander, 83, was last seen on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at 3 p.m., in the Lansdowne Avenue and Seaforth Avenue area.

She is described as 5'6", short grey hair, and has a very distinctive gait. She uses a blue shopping cart as a walker.

She was last seen wearing a light coloured shirt, green sweater, a long brown skirt, a grey flower patterned hat, black sandals and white socks.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Missing man, University Avenue and Elm Street area, Simon Thompson, 61

The Toronto Police Service requests the public’s assistance locating a missing man.

Simon Thompson, 61, was last seen on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at approximately p.m., in the University Avenue and Elm Street area.

He is described as 5’9”, 187 lbs., with a medium build, bald and clean shaven. He was wearing black pants, a black jacket, white running shoes, a white toque with a red pom-pom and a surgical mask.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Police seek public assistance in locating missing dog in a carjacking, Man Arrested, Bhupinder Singh, 33

The Toronto Police Service would like to advise the public of an on-going carjacking investigation.

On Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at approximately 1 a.m., a white 2013 Mercedes-Benz was stolen in the area of Victoria Park Avenue and Ellesmere Road.

It is reported that:

- the owner's dog was inside of the vehicle at the time it was taken

- the vehicle was located and a man was arrested in the Victoria Park Avenue and Eglinton Avenue area

- it is believed the dog was let out of the vehicle somewhere in the area

- there is possibly another person involved in this carjacking

The dog is a large white and fluffy 19-month-old Samoyed. His name is Sammy and he is around 60-70 lbs. He was last seen wearing a grey harness and is microchipped.


On Wednesday, October 7, 2020, Bhupinder Singh, 33, of no fixed address, was arrested. He is charged with:

1. Robbery with Violence
2. Theft Not Exceeding $5000
3. Dangerous Operation
4. Fail to Stop for Police
5. two counts of Mischief Not Exceeding $5000
6. Wilfully Cause Unnecessary Pain/Suffering to an Animal
7. seven counts of Posses Property Obtained by Crime Exceeding $5000

He is to appear in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at 10 a.m.

Police seek public assistance in locating missing dog in a carjacking, Man Arrested, Update, Dog has been located

The Toronto Police Service would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance in an on-going carjacking investigation.

On Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at approximately 1 a.m., a white 2013 Mercedes-Benz was stolen in the area of Victoria Park Avenue and Ellesmere Road.

The dog was located in the Pharmacy Avenue and Ellesmere Road area by a good samaritan. They noticed the media attention for the missing dog and immediately contacted police.

The dog appeared in good health and has been reunited with their owner.

Stabbing Investigation, Weston Road and Victoria Avenue area, Arrest made, Suspect and vehicle description released

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance in a stabbing investigation.

On Tuesday, October 6, at approximately 4:10 p.m., police responded to a stabbing call in the Weston Road and Victoria Avenue area.

It is alleged that:

- two men attempted to break up a fight and were stabbed

- an unknown suspect fled in a vehicle

- the two men - aged 29 and 26 - took themselves to hospital

- a 35-year-old man was also involved in the confrontation and received injuries

- none of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening

The suspect is described as a man, black, with a dark complexion, mid 30s to early 40s, a pierced left ear, wearing black jeans with silver zippers on the pockets which were worn low, a USA flag on his underwear at the back, grey sweater, and sunglasses with a green toned reflective lens.

The vehicle is described as a white, 2019 Honda Civic, four-door, with licence plate CJKH724.

Kevin Williams, 44, of Toronto, has been charged with the following:

1) Assault with a Weapon
2) Assault

He was scheduled for a Bail Hearing on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at Toronto West Court, 2201 Finch Avenue West, at 10 a.m., in room 206.

Investigations continue to urge anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

Kidnapping and Sexual Assault Investigation, Shanthakumar Kandiah, 54, Update, Further charges laid

The Toronto Police Service would like to advise the public of an ongoing sexual assault investigation.

On Saturday, July 11, 2020, at 10:30 p.m., a man was operating a power boat in the area of Woodbine Beach.

It is alleged that:

- a man welcomed two people onto his boat

- once on the boat, he steered the boat away from the shoreline

- the man sexually assaulted the two people

Shanthakumar Kandiah, 54, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

1. Two counts of Kidnapping
2. Two counts of Sexual Assault
3. Two counts of Forcible Confinement
4. Operation of a Conveyance with Ability Impaired
5. Operation of a Conveyance with more than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood

He appeared in court, at College Park, on Monday, July 13, 2020, at 10 a.m.

It is further alleged:

- on Friday, July 7, 2020, at approximately 5:30 p.m. a man was operating a power boat in the area of Woodbine Beach

- the man met a group of three individuals at Woodbine Beach and welcomed the group on his boat

- he then steered the boat away from shore

- the group requested to be returned to shore but the man refused

- the man then proceeded to perform indecent acts and sexual assaults before eventually returning the group to shore

On Tuesday, October 6, 2020, Shanthakumar Kandiah, 54, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

1. Sexual Assault
2. Forcible Confinement
3. Indecent Act

He was scheduled to appear at court on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at College Park Courts for 9:30 a.m. in room 507.

The boat is described as a 22-foot, Rinker power boat and is yellow/white in colour.

At this time, investigators are aware that the accused had access to multiple vessels and are concerned there may be other victims.

Arrest made in Sexual Assault Investigation, Bloor Street West and Spadina Avenue area, Moe Alfalahi

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest made in a Sexual Assault Investigation.

It is alleged that:

- a man met a woman in her 20s online via a dating application

- they began dating each other

- between January 2019 and April 2019, the man sexually assaulted her in a condo in the Bloor Street West and Spadina Avenue area


On Tuesday, September 15, 2020, Moe Alfalahi, now 34, of Toronto, surrendered to police. He was arrested and charged with:

1. two counts of Sexual Assault
2. two counts of Sexual Assault Causing Bodily Harm

He is scheduled to appear at court at Old City Hall on Monday, October 26, 2020, at 2 p.m., in room 114.

Man wanted in Assault investigation, Yonge Street and Sheppard Avenue West area, Security camera images released

The Toronto Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance identifying a man wanted in an assault investigation.

It was reported that:

- on Monday, September 21, 2020, at 8:30 p.m., a woman was in a gas station kiosk in the Yonge Street and Sheppard Avenue West area

- a man was inside the kiosk as well, purchasing a drink

- after purchasing his drink the man, for unknown reasons, struck the victim on the side of her head

- he then fled in an unknown direction

Security camera images have been released and video can be viewed on YouTube.


The man was described as 20-30, 6'2", 140-160 lbs., dark complexion, skinny build, and medium-length black braided hair. He was last seen wearing a dark blue hooded jacket and beige khaki pants.

Man charged in Fraud investigation, Ajay Aery, 28, Police believe there may be more victims

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest made in a fraud investigation.

It is alleged that:

- between March 2017 and December 2017

- a man attended a restaurant on four separate occasions and purchased a quantity of food and alcohol

- he then texted the server a credit card number for the payment

- the credit card was fraudulently obtained

It is further alleged that:

- between June 2019 and February 2020

- a man, 40, wanted to purchase basketball playoff tickets

- he arranged to purchase 11 tickets with a value of $15,400

- he e-transferred the money but never received the tickets or his money back

On Monday, October 5, 2020, officers executed a Warrant at a Toronto residence and arrested one man.

Ajay Aery, 28, of Toronto, is charged with:

1. Fraud Over $5000
2. Fraudulently Obtain Food
3. Unauthorized Use of Credit Card Data
4. Fraudulently Obtain Food
5. Unauthorized Use of Credit Card Data
6. Fraud Under $5,000
7. Unauthorized Use of Credit Card Data
8. Fraudulently Obtain Food

He will appear at Old City Hall on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at 10 a.m., in room 101.

Man wanted in robbery investigation, Lumsden Avenue and Barrington Avenue area, Jordan Lem, 29

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a man wanted in a robbery investigation.

On Sunday, October 4, 2020, at 2 p.m., officers responded to a call for a robbery in the Lumsden Avenue and Barrington Avenue area

It is reported that:

- a man went into a residential building

- a woman entered the lobby of the same building

- the man waited for the woman to enter the lobby before pushing her to the ground

- the man robbed the woman of her cell phone

- he then fled the area with the woman's phone in a dark grey SUV, believed to be a Mitsubishi


Jordan Lem, 29, of Toronto, is wanted for:

1. Robbery

He is described as Asian, 5'6, 150 lbs., thin build, with curly black hair and brown eyes.

An image of Lem is not available at this time but an image of the vehicle used during the incident has been released.

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a homcide investigation.

The Service received a radio call for the sound of gunshots on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at 11:38 p.m., in the Bathurst Street and Ranee Avenue area.

It is reported that:

- police arrived and located a man inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound

- the man was pronounced deceased at the scene

The man has been identified as Shane Shannon Stanford, 33, of Toronto

Homicide officers are investigating and would like to speak to anyone who has any information that may assist with this investigation.

Police seek assistance in Shooting Investigation, Walpole Avenue and Hiawatha Road area, Videos Released

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an ongoing shooting investigation.

On Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at approximately 5:25 a.m. police responded to the sound of gun shots in the Walpole Avenue and Hiawatha Road area.

It is reported that:

- a person was seen fleeing into a vehicle which then fled the area

- multiple shell casings were located at the scene

- no injuries have been reported at this time

- the vehicle is described as a 2003 to 2006 Acura TL

Investigators have released two videos in connection with the shooting.

The suspect in the video is described as having a light complexion, medium build and their hair is in a puffy pony tail. They were wearing a black baseball hat, grey sweatshirt and black pants.

Homicide #57/2020, 18 Skipton Court

On Saturday, October 3, 2020, at 5:14 a.m., officers responded to a call for a shooting at 18 Skipton Court.

Officers located three people shot inside an apartment. One man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.

The other two victims were taken to a trauma centre with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

A dark coloured SUV was seen leaving the area.

The deceased has been identified as Gary Douglas Gallant, 36, of Toronto.

Investigators request residents, business owners, or anyone who was in the area to check their security cameras or dash-cams for any footage that may assist in this investigation.
