The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a missing woman.

Shirley Reingewertz, 77, was last seen on Saturday, August 29, 2020, at 2:03 a.m., in the Bathurst Street and Baycrest Avenue area.

She is described as 5'6, with a heavy build.

She was last seen wearing a dark red sweater, a blue shirt, black pants and she uses a walker.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Leslie Ann Chin, 68, was last seen on Friday, August 28, 2020, at 7 p.m., in the Brimley Road and St. Clair Avenue East area.

She is described as 5'5", with a medium build, short grey and black hair, and brown eyes.

She was wearing a blue Toronto Argonauts #47 jersey, light grey sweatpants, black socks and sandals. She walks with a limp and has a hand disability.

Jonalyn Ester, 14, was last seen on Saturday, August 29, 2020, at 8:30 p.m., in the Midland Avenue and Lawrence Avenue East area.

She is described as 5'4", 99lbs, with long straight black hair.

She was last seen wearing black and white shorts, a black hooded jacket with "Canada" across the front, and a cream-coloured bandana.

Police are concerned for her safety.

TTC Assault Investigation, Man Arrested, Joshua Byer, 32

The Toronto Police would like to thank the public for their assistance in relation to an assault investigation.

On Tuesday, February 4, 2020, at approximately 8:20 p.m., a woman was onboard a TTC bus in the area of Finch Subway Station.

See previous news release.

It is alleged:

- a man, for unknown reasons, violently struck the woman on the side of her head

- he then fled the bus in an unknown direction

On Friday, August 19, 2020, at 7:30 a.m., Joshua Byer, 32, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

1. Assault Causing Bodily Harm

He is scheduled to appear in Toronto North Court, on October 8, 2020, in courtroom 301.

Missing Boy, Sunrise Avenue and Bermondsey Road area, Isaiah Twyman, 16

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a missing boy.

Isaiah Twyman, 16, was last seen on Friday, August 28, 2020, sometime after 6 p.m. in the Sunrise Avenue and Bermondsey Road area.

He is described as black, 5’4”, 140 lbs, with black hair and no facial hair.

He was last known to be wearing a black zipped up jacket that has ‘DC’ just above the waist on the left side and a hood, a black shirt, blue jeans and white running shoes with a black Nike swoosh.

His picture is unavailable at this time.

Officers are concerned for his safety and are urging anyone with any information about his whereabouts to contact police.

Mischief to Religious Property Investigation, 1515 Queen Street West, Suspect Images Released

The Toronto Police Service is seeking the public's assistance in a mischief to religious property investigation.

On Monday, August 31, 2020, at approximately 1:22 pm., officers commenced an
investigation at Our Lady of Lebanon Parish located at 1515 Queen Street West, where a religious statue was damaged.

It is reported:

- on Sunday, August 30, 2020, at approximately 3:18 a.m., on the front lawn of Our Lady of Lebanon Parish, a statue of Mother Mary was damaged

- the head portion of the statue was removed

The suspect is described as 5'11"- 6'1", thin build, long dark swept back hair, and clean shaven. He was wearing a black t-shirt with a large white design on the front, a thin red vest over the t-shirt, beige shorts and dark Birkenstock-style sandals

Security camera images of the suspect have been released.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses to come forward and speak to police.

Andrew Vivian, 15, was last seen on Friday, August 14, 2020, in the Pharmacy Avenue and Huntingwood Drive area.

He is described as 5'10", thin build, short blond hair, green eyes, with a tattoo on his forearm.

He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt with "Guess" across the chest in red writing and red trim on the sleeves and collar, and light coloured shorts.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Missing woman located, Brimley Road and St. Clair Avenue East area, Leslie Ann Chin, 68

Appeal to identify man found deceased in 2019, 901 King Street West, Artist's rendition and video released

The Toronto Police is requesting the public’s assistance identifying a man who was found deceased.

On Thursday, July 18, 2019, the body of a man was found at 901 King Street West in Toronto.

The man is described as white, approximately 32 to 52 years of age, 5’8” to 6’2” tall, with an average build, short salt and pepper hair, a few days growth of salt and pepper facial hair and good teeth.

He has extensive tattoos on both of his arms and on his upper back. Images of his tattoos have been released.

The Ontario Pathologist’s office, with the assistance of the O.P.P., undertook to create an artist’s rendition of the man. It is hoped that someone may recognize him and bring resolution for his family as well as the investigation.

A video appeal with Detective Mary Vruna from the Service's Missing Persons Unit has been released in a bid to encourage anyone with any information to come forward.

Assistance in identifying deceased woman, Dundas Street West and Crawford Street area, Artist's rendition released, Update, Video appeal released

The Toronto Police Service continues to seek the public’s assistance in identifying a deceased woman.

On Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at approximately 1:20 a.m. the body of a woman was located in the Dundas Street West and Crawford Street area.

The Ontario Pathologist’s office, with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police, undertook to create an artist’s rendition of the woman in the hopes that someone might recognize her and bring some resolution for her family and the investigation.

Images were previously released.

A video appeal with Detective Mary Vruna from the Service's Missing Persons Unit has been released.

Public Safety Alert, Indecent Exposure, Queen Street East and Hammersmith Avenue area

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a man exposing himself to women.

On Monday, August 31, 2020, at 2 p.m., police attended the area of Queen Street East and Hammersmith Avenue area.

It is reported that:

- a man was sitting in a parked white 4-door Jeep

- the man called out to two girls walking

- the man exposed himself and committed an indecent act on himself

The man is described as white, with short grey and brown hair, brown eyes, and with a muscular build. He was wearing beige cargo shorts and a dark tank top.


If you see this man, do not approach, call 9-1-1.

Suspect sought in robbery and vehicle theft investigation, Bathurst Street and Lawrence Avenue area

The Toronto Police Service requests the public's assistance identifying a man as part of a robbery and vehicle theft investigation.

On Monday, August 31, 2020, at 1:17 p.m., officers attended a robbery call in the Bathurst Street and Lawrence Avenue West area.

It is reported that:

- a woman was unloading groceries from her vehicle

- a man approached the woman, brandished a knife and demanded her car keys

- the woman surrendered her keys to the man

- the man stole the woman's vehicle - a white 2016 Honda HR-V

- he then fled the scene

He is described as white, approximately 25-35 years old, 6'0", with a medium build.

He was last seen wearing a dark coloured baseball cap, blue hooded sweater, blue jeans, black shoes, face covering, and black sunglasses.

Man arrested in Sexual Assault Investigation, John Lee, 42

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a Sexual Assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

- from March 2013 to April 2016, a man was employed as a photographer

- the man sexually assaulted women in relation to his activities as a photographer

On Monday, August 31, 2020, John Lee, 42, of Toronto was arrested. He is charged with:

1. six counts of Sexual assault
2. two counts of Sexual Assault Cause Bodily Harm
3. Administer Drug Overcome Resistance
4. Voyeurism

He is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall, on Wednesday, October 14, 2020.

Investigators are concerned there may be other victims.

Arrest made in Robbery investigation, Renforth Drive and Rathburn Road area, Young person faces 10 charges

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest made in a robbery investigation.

On Sunday, August 2, 2020, at 2 p.m., officers attended a robbery call in the Renforth Drive and Rathburn Road area.

It is alleged that:

- a man was walking on Renforth Drive

- a male suspect approached the man from behind and struck him numerous times

- the suspect stole the man's cell phone and fled on foot

On Sunday, August 30, 2020 at 5:10 p.m., officers attended a robbery call in The East Mall and West Deane Valley Road area.


It is further alleged that:

- a male suspect attempted to steal from a vehicle parked in a driveway of a residence

- a witness parked his vehicle and confronted the man

- the suspect produced a knife and chased the witness down the street

- the witness dropped his car keys and the suspect picked up the keys

- he then subsequently stole the witness' vehicle

- the stolen vehicle was involved in a minor collision and fled the scene

- the stolen vehicle was involved in another collision, which rendered it inoperable.

- officers attended the collision scene and made an arrest


A 16 year-old boy, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1. Theft Under $5000.00
2. Mischief Over $5000.00
3. Robbery With Offensive Weapon
4. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.00
5. Assault with a Weapon
6. Weapons Dangerous
7. Dangerous Operation
8. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000.00
9. Possession of Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
10. Robbery with Violence

He was scheduled to appear in court on August 31, 2020 at 10 a.m., at 311 Jarvis Street, room 1.
