Sexual Assault Alert, Keele Steeet and Finch Avenue West

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a sexual assault investigation and is requesting assistance identifying a man.

It is reported that:

- on Monday, January 27, 2014, at approximately 9 p.m., a woman in her 20s was walking near the Student Centre, on York Lanes on, the York University campus

- as she walked past a man, the man sexually assaulted her

- the woman turned to face the man, confronted him, then continued to walk away from him

The man is described as having a light-black complexion, 5'5"-5'7", medium build, short black hair, and a small nose. He was wearing a black or grey jacket, dark pants, and dark-framed reading glasses.

Sexual Assault Alert, Men wanted

The Toronto Police Service is alerting the public to a sexual assault.

It has been reported that:

- on Friday, January 31, 2014, at 2 a.m., police responded to a robbery on Yorkland Boulevard,

- a 28-year-old woman, a sex trade worker, engaged in a sexual act with an unknown man,

- at the conclusion of the interaction, two other unknown men entered the room and sexually assaulted the woman at gunpoint,

- the men took her money and some personal belongings.

The men are described as:

1) black, 20-25, grey hoodie, black jeans, black shoes, white gloves and white scarf

2) black, 20-25, black jacket, blue jeans, white shoes.

3) black, 20-25

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance in an assault causing bodily harm investigation.

It is alleged that:

- on Wednesday, January 1, 2014, a 28-year-old man was at the Gladstone Hotel, at 1214 Queen Street West, for a New Year's Eve party

- he was assaulted by another man and suffered serious facial injuries

The suspect is described as white, approximately 6', and was in the company of a woman.

A photo of the suspect is released.

The Toronto Police Service is seeking the public's assistance locating a missing girl.

Nadia Seetaran, 14, was last seen on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, in the Keele Street and Wilson Avenue area.

She is described as black, 5'3", 116 lbs., with brown eyes, curly black hair, and was wearing a school uniform that consisted of a green jacket and black pants.

Police are concerned for her safety.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance with a theft investigation.

On Monday, January 27, 2014, at approximately 2 p.m., it is reported that:

- a man entered an office in the area of Queen Street West and Ossington Avenue

- once inside, he took property and money

The man is described as having a dark-black complexion, approximately 55, 5'7", with a thin build, grey facial hair and sunken cheeks. He was wearing faded blue jeans, a black jacket and a blue toque with a white pattern.

Security camera images of the man have been released.

Public assistance sought identifying victim of assault, Simcoe Street and King Street West

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance identifying a victim of an assault.

On Friday, January 31, 2014, at approximately 8:35 p.m., it is reported that:

- a man and women were on Simcoe Street, in front of Roy Thompson Hall, when a male suspect approached and punched the man in the head, knocking him to the ground

- the assault was witnessed by police officers

- the suspect fled the scene, a foot chase ensued, and the suspect was arrested

- when police returned to the scene, the man and woman were gone

Police are appealing for assistance identifying the victim.

Man faces nine charges in drug/gun investigation, Drugs and two rifles seized

On Thursday, January 30, 2014, as the result of a criminal investigation, 42 Division's Major Crime Unit executed a search warrant at an address in the Allandford Road and Birchmount Road area.

It is alleged that:

- during the execution of the search warrant, a semi-automatic .22 calibre assault rifle with ammunition, a modified .22 calibre Winchester rifle and a large quantity of ecstasy pills, psilocybin (magic mushrooms), marijuana and ketamine were seized

Jacki Fung, 21, of Toronto, is charged with:

1. Possession Restricted Weapon Knowing Possession Unauthorized
2. Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
3. Possession Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition
4. Careless Storage of Firearm
5. Careless Storage of Ammunition
6. Weapons Dangerous
7. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Ecstasy
8. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Marijuana
9. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Psilocybin

He appeared in court at Old City Hall on Friday, January 31, 2014.

Missing woman, Vasilike (Vicki) Karastergios, 44

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance locating a missing woman.

Vasilike (Vicki) Karastergios, 44, was last seen on Saturday, February 1, 2014, at 10 a.m., in the Eglinton Avenue West and Dufferin Street.

She is described as white, thin build, 5'4", 140 lbs, and was wearing a black ski jacket, red toque, blue jeans and brown boots.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Nikolia Lukovic, 15, was last seen on Friday, January 31, 2014, at 3 p.m., in the Bloor Street West and Keele Street area.

She is described as white with a fair complexion, 5'8", 120 lbs., brown eyes, and black hair worn in a bun. She is believed to have been wearing a dark-blue or black cardigan-style sweater and baggy grey Roots sweatpants.

Man faces five charges in online ticket-fraud investigation, Photograph of accused released, Police believe there may be other victims

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a recent arrest in a fraudulent online ticket-selling investigation.

It is alleged that:

- the accused advertised tickets to events on a popular online site

- the accused would meet buyers in person, accepting cash in exchange for fake tickets to the venue

On Friday, January 31, 2014, Mackenzie Footman, 22, of Inglewood, was charged with:

1. two counts of Fraud Under $5,000
2. two counts of Utter Forged Document
3. Possession of Proceeds of Crime

He is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Friday, March 14, 2014.

Police believe there may be other victims.

A photograph of the accused has been released.

Witnesses sought in shooting investigation, TIME nightclub, 81 Peter Street

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance with a shooting investigation.

On Monday, February 3, 2014, just before 1 a.m., police responded to a shooting call at the TIME nightclub at 81 Peter Street.

When officers arrived, they were unable to locate any victims.

At approximately 1:30 a.m., a victim, a man in his 30s, was dropped off at a hospital suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the head.

Police investigating death of a child

The Toronto Police Service would like to advise the public of an investigation into the death of a child.

On Monday, February 3, 2014, at approximately 4 p.m., police were called to attend an address in Scarborough. As a result of the ensuing investigation, police attended the Howard Johnson Toronto East at 22 Metropolitan Road, where they found a child in obvious distress.

The child was taken to hospital by ambulance via emergency run and was pronounced dead at hospital.

The Homicide Squad has been called in to investigate.

Homicide #4/2014, Matthew Archibald, 40, Arrest made

On Monday, January 20, 2014, 10:30 p.m., police responded to a call for a stabbing at 500 Dawes Road.

Officers attended and located a man inside an apartment suffering from obvious stab wounds. He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Andrew Jackson, 30, of no fixed address, was arrested at the scene, at the time of the call. He was charged with:

1. Attempted Murder
2. Aggravated Assault

On Sunday, February 2, 2014, the victim succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

The victim has been identified as Matthew Archibald, 40, of Toronto.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court at College Park on Wednesday, February 5, 2014.

Public Safety Alert, Lost medication, Cosburn Avenue and Donlands Avenue area

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a quantity of lost medication in the Cosburn Avenue and Donlands Avenue area.

On Monday, February 3, 2014, at approximately 4:45 p.m., police received a report that a person had lost a bag containing six 30 mL bottles of methadone.

The medication could be harmful if ingested, especially to children.
