Missing man, Birchmount Road and Finch Avenue area, Gary McCullough, 63

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance locating a missing man.

Gary McCullough, 63, was last seen on Saturday, April 18, 2020, at approximately 12:08 p.m., in the Birchmount Road and Finch Avenue area.

He is described as 6'2", 210 lbs., with shoulder length grey/white hair. He was last seen wearing a black jacket and black pants.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Man arrested for assaulting a By-Law Officer, Mornelle Court and Ellesmere Road area

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in an assault investigation.

On Friday, April 17, 2020, at approximately 1:50 p.m., officers were called to the Mornelle Court and Ellesmere Road area for an Assault.

It is alleged that:

- A municipal by-law officer approached two men for the purpose of enforcing social distancing orders

- One of the men yelled at the by-law officer and punched him in the face with a cell phone

- Both men fled the scene, northbound on Mornelle Court

The by-law officer sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

The man was located a short time later and arrested.

Thipakaran Navaratnam, 45, of Toronto, was charged with:

1) Assault Peace officer and use of a Weapon
2) Assault Peace Officer
3) Breach of Recognizance, Sec 811

He was also issued tickets for:

1. Enter into area of park posted to prohibit/restrict admission
2. Smoke tobacco prohibited place
3. Care & control motor vehicle liquor readily available

He is next scheduled to appear in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East, on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at 2 p.m., in room 407.

Theft of Motor Vehicles from Dealership Holding Lots, 42 Division

The Toronto Police would like to make the public aware of ongoing Theft of Motor Vehicle investigations.

It is reported that:

- in April 2020, a number of motor vehicle thefts have recently been occurring in 42 Division

- suspect(s) are cutting through exterior security fences to gain access to the dealership holding lots

- high-end vehicles are being targeted and stolen from the lots

The investigations are ongoing. The Toronto Police Service is requesting that anyone observing loitering or suspicious behavior around auto malls or dealership holding lots contact police immediately.

Media Advisory, Photo Opportunity, Toronto Police to Salute Hospitals Across the City, Sunday, April 19, 2020, 7:45 p.m.

On Sunday, April 19, at 7:45 p.m., the Toronto Police Service, in partnership with the city’s front-line responders, will pay respect to Toronto's healthcare workers with a “Night to Salute Hospitals Across the City”.

The Toronto Police Service recognizes the dedication of our city's healthcare workers and will acknowledge their commitment to our community during this global pandemic. The show of appreciation will happen at the same time at hospitals across Toronto.

Toronto Police Service vehicles will line up in front of the hospitals listed below. Once the motorcades have come to a stop, sirens will continue for approximately 10 seconds and then be turned off with emergency lighting still active. Members will exit vehicles to acknowledge healthcare professionals at each location. Following this event, divisional vehicles will continue to long-term care homes in their divisions and conduct a drive-by salute to those workers and residents.

Toronto Fire Services, Toronto Paramedic Services, Toronto Transit Commission, Metrolinx, Toronto Community Housing Corp., and others are expected to join Toronto Police Service members.

Media are invited to attend any of the locations listed below for a photo opportunity and to film.

Please Note: Chief Mark Saunders and Mayor John Tory will attend the “Hospital Row” location, and will be near University Avenue and Gerrard Street West. The Mounted Unit will also be present in this area.

Desiree Morris-Boulter, 21, was last seen on Friday, April 17, 2020, at 11 p.m., in the Bathurst Street and Finch Avenue West area.

She is described as 5’2”, 130 lbs., with curly long black hair, and brown eyes. She has a tattoo on her right wrist depicting a half moon and a star. She was last seen wearing a black jacket, black tights and black shoes with white stripes.

Police are concerned for her safety.

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest made in a homicide investigation.

On Tuesday, April 14, 2020, at approximately 8:15 a.m., officers responded to sudden death call at 42 Howard Drive.

See previous news release.

A post-mortem examination was completed on Wednesday, April 15, 2020, and the deceased has since been identified as Dr. Paul Morgan, 79, of Toronto.

On Monday, April 20, 2020, Makoons Meawasige-Moore, 23, of Toronto was arrested.

He has been charged with:

1. Second Degree Murder.

He is scheduled to appear at court at 1000 Finch Avenue West, at 10 a.m., on Monday, April 20, 2020.

Man arrested for retail robbery, Twenty Seventh Street and Lakeshore Boulevard West area, Christopher Noel, 35

The Toronto Police Service Hold Up Squad would like to make the public aware of a man arrested for a retail robbery.

On Tuesday, April 14, 2020, a telecommunication retail store robbery was committed in the Twenty Seventh Street and Lakeshore Boulevard West area.

It is alleged that:

- a man entered the store carrying large bolt cutters

- the man took physical control of the store employee and forced them into a room at the rear of the store

- the man took a quantity of cellular phones and fled the area on foot

Hold Up Squad investigators were able to identify the man, and on Saturday, April 18, 2020, the man was arrested.

Christopher Leo Noel, 35, of no fixed address, was charged with:

1. Robbery with an Offensive Weapon
2. Forcible Confinement
3. Possession of a Weapon
4. Fail to Comply with Release Order
5. three counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order

He appeared in court at Old City Hall on Sunday, April 19, 2020, at 10 a.m., room 111.

Man arrested for four retail robberies and six retail thefts, John Perry, 52

The Toronto Police Service Hold Up Squad would like to make the public aware of a man arrested as part of multiple robbery investigations.

Between Saturday, March 28, 2020 and Sunday, April 19, 2020, four convenience retail store robberies were committed.

It is alleged that:

- in each incident, a man entered the store and walked behind the checkout counter

- the man assaulted and threatened the store employees

- the man took lottery tickets, cash and cigarettes and then fled the area on foot


Between Wednesday, January 1, 2020, and Saturday, April 18, 2020, six convenience retail store thefts were committed.

It is further alleged that:

- in each incident, a man entered the store and walked behind the checkout counter

- the man took lottery tickets, cash and cigarettes and then fled the area on foot

With the assistance of several Toronto Police Divisional Units, Hold Up Squad investigators were able to identify the man.

On Sunday, April 19, 2020, a man was located and arrested.

John Perry, 52, of no fixed address, was charged with:

1. three counts of Robbery
2. six counts of Theft Under

He was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Monday, April 20, 2020, 10 a.m., room 101.

Man arrested for three bank robberies and a retail robbery, Jeffrey Bluecloud, 52

The Toronto Police Service Hold Up Squad would like to make the public aware of a man arrested for three bank robberies and a retail robbery.

Between Monday, April 6, 2020, and Friday, April 17, 2020, three bank robberies were committed.

It is alleged that:

- in each incident, a man entered the bank while concealing his identity with a hat, mask and sunglasses

- the man indicated he had a gun, threatened the bank employees and made a demand for cash

- the man took cash and then fled the area


On Saturday, April 18, 2020, a grocery retail store robbery was committed by the same man.

It is further alleged that:

- a man entered the store wearing a mask and carrying a large knife

- the man approached the checkout counters and pointed the knife at employees while making demands for cash

- the man fled the store empty-handed

- the man approached a customer who was waiting outside the store and demanded her wallet

- the man took the wallet and ran away toward a TTC bus

- a store employee followed the man to the bus and the man assaulted the employee


Police arrived to the scene, located and arrested a man.

Jeffrey Bluecloud, 35, of no fixed address, was charged with:

1. two counts of Robbery with an Offensive Weapon
2. five counts of Robbery
3. two counts of Possession of a Weapon
4. two counts of Carry Concealed Weapon
5. four counts of Disguise with Intent
6. Assault
7. Possession Property Obtained by Crime
8. four counts of Fail to Comply with Release Order
9. four counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order

He appeared in court at Old City Hall on Sunday, April 19, 2020, at 10 a.m., room 111.

The Toronto Police Service Hold Up Squad would like to make the public aware of a man arrested in relation to two retail robberies.

On Monday, April 13, 2020, a convenience retail store robbery was committed in the Progress Avenue and Markham Road area.

It is alleged that:

- a man entered the store carrying a broken beer bottle

- the man threatened the store employee and made a demand for cash

- the man took a quantity of lottery tickets and fled the area on foot

Police arrived on scene, located a man and arrested him.

It is further alleged that:

- lottery tickets stolen during the robbery were located


He appeared in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East, on Tuesday, April 14, 2020, 10 a.m., room 412.


On Tuesday, April 14, 2020, a convenience retail store robbery was committed in the Ellesmere Road and Markham Road area

It is further alleged that:

- the same man entered the store and immediately walked behind the checkout counter

- the man told the store employee that he had a gun and made a demand for cash

- the man took a quantity of cigarettes and lottery tickets and fled the area on foot


Hold Up Squad investigators were able to identify the man, and on Friday, April 17, 2020, they located the man and rearrested him.

Andrew David Delaney, 55, of no fixed address, was charged with:

1. Robbery with an Offensive Weapon
2. Robbery with Violence
3. Fail to Comply with Release Order

He appeared in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East, on Friday, April 17, 2020, 10 a.m., room 412.

The Toronto Police Service Hold Up Squad would like to make the public aware of a man arrested for a retail robbery.

On Monday, April 20, 2020, a retail store robbery was committed in the Thirteenth Street and Lakeshore Boulevard West area.

It is alleged that:

- a man rode into the store on a bicycle acting erratically, selected a quantity of items and placed them into his knapsack

- the man attempted to ride out of the store but was stopped by an employee

- he pushed the employee to the ground and put his hands on her neck

- he then approached a customer, grabbed her by the neck and threw her to the ground

- he attempted to exit but was confronted by a second employee, a struggle took place and he tried to bite and kick the employee

- he was finally restrained by several employees and customers until police arrived


On Monday, April 20, 2020, Thomas Nunno, 27, of no fixed address was arrested and charged with:

1. Robbery
2. Assault
3. Assault Bodily Harm
4. Assault with a Weapon
5. Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest
6. Mischief Over $5000

He appeared in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Tuesday, April 21, 2020, at 10 a.m., room 204.
