The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a missing man.

Mark Kalka, 41, was last seen on Thursday, December 20, 2018, around midnight, in the Victoria Park Avenue and St. Clair Avenue East area.

He is described as having a thin build, with short black hair, a goatee, and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a red jacket.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Missing Boy, Don Mills Road and Sheppard Avenue East, Abdullateef Akinbode-Isiake, 16

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance locating a missing boy.

Abdullateef Akinbode-Isiake, 16, was last seen on Monday, January 7, 2019, at 7:30 p.m., in the Don Mills Road and Sheppard Avenue East area.

He is described as 5'10", with a thin build, brown eyes and short black hair. He was last seen wearing black pants, a dark jacket, boots and carrying a multi-coloured bag.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Hold Up investigation, Man charged in three bank robberies

The Toronto Police Service Hold Up Squad would like to make the public aware of an arrest made for three bank robberies that occurred in January 2019.

It is alleged that:

- on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at 2:32 p.m., a man entered a bank in the Bloor Street West and Jane Street area

- he approached the Customer Service Representative and produced a note indicating a gun and demanding cash

- money was obtained and he fled


It is further alleged that:

- on Thursday, January 3, 2019, at 10:35 a.m., the same man entered a bank in the Dundas Street West and Dufferin Street area

- he approached the Customer Service Representative and produced a note indicating a gun and demanding cash

- money was obtained and he fled


It is further alleged that:

- on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at 3:31 p.m., the same man entered a bank in the Dufferin Street and St. Clair Avenue West area

- he approached the Customer Service Representative and produced a note indicating a gun and demanding cash

- money was obtained and he fled


On Sunday, January 6, 2019, Jeffery MacIntyre, 25, of No Fixed Address, was located and arrested.

It is further alleged that:

- at the time of his arrest, he was in possession of a starter's pistol and a switchblade knife


He was charged with:

1. Three counts of Robbery with a Firearm
2. Three counts of Disguise with Intent
3. Possession Prohibited Weapon
4. Possession Imitation Firearm
5. Fail to Comply Recognizance
6. Two counts of Fail to Comply Probation
7. Possession Property Obtained by Crime

He appeared in court at Old City Hall on Monday, January 7, 2018.

Homicide #2/2019, 544 Birchmount Road

On Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at 2:16 p.m., police responded to a call for Unknown Trouble at 544 Birchmount Road.

It is reported that:

- police and paramedics located a 40-year-old man on the ground in front of a residential building

- he was suffering from life-threatening injuries

- further investigation led officers to a unit on the eighth floor of the building, where they located a 30-year-old woman with life-threatening injuries

- the man and woman were pronounced deceased at the scene

There are no outstanding suspects.

A post-mortem examination has been scheduled for Thursday, January 10, 2019.

Theft investigation, Man and woman wanted, Bloor Street West and Annex Area

The Toronto Police Service is seeking the public's assistance identifying a man and woman involved in a theft investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at 6:45 p.m., a man and a woman walked into a bistro located in the Bloor Street West and Brunswick Avenue area.

- they both sat behind a 32-year-old woman, who was seated with three other people

- the man took the woman's laptop bag, which was on the floor

- he removed her laptop, iPad and personal belongings and passed it to the woman he was with

- the woman left the bistro, followed shortly by man

The woman is described as in her mid twenties to early thirties, between 5'3" to 5'5", with a medium build, straight light brown hair with possible highlights. She was wearing a glitter/sequin winter hat, a black jacket, black pants, and black winter boots. She was carrying a side bag.

The man is described as in his mid thirties to early forties, between 5'6" to 5'8", with a medium build. He was wearing a black toque, a blue bubble jacket, black pants and black shoes.


Police believe the man and woman are known to enter coffee shops or bistros on Bloor Street West in the evening around 5 p.m., to 7 p.m., and look for victims with bags not in their direct view. It is believed there could be additional victims of these thefts in the Bloor Street West and Annex area.

The public is reminded to keep bags and belongings in view at all times.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a missing woman and two boys.

Sadaf Rassoli, 29, Arman Rassoli, 9, and Eman Rassoli, 3, were last seen on Monday, December 24, 2018, in the area of Queen Street East and Parliament Street.

Sadaf is described as 5'7", with a medium build and brown eyes. She wears a black or blue hijab.

Arman is described as 4', with a slim build, black hair and brown eyes.

Eman is described as 3', with a slim build, black hair and brown eyes.

Police are concerned for their well-being.

Homicide #3/2019, Redwater Drive and Elmhurst Drive

On Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at 9:20 p.m., police responded to a Shooting in the Redwater Drive and Elmhurst Drive area.

It is reported that:

- an 18-year-old man was walking on Elmhurst Drive, when a dark-coloured vehicle approached him

- sounds of gunshots were heard

- the man attempted to flee the area on foot, was shot and collapsed

- the vehicle fled the area

People in the area stopped to provide medical assistance for the man who was lying on the ground. He was taken to hospital via emergency run, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Assault Investigation, Dundas Street West and Bay Street, Man arrested

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest made in an investigation involving a man assaulting a TTC employee.

On Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at 9 a.m, officers responded to a call for an Assault on a TTC streetcar driver at Dundas Street West and Chestnut Street

It is alleged that:

- a man entered the streetcar and began yelling profanities at the driver

- he then assaulted the driver and fled

- the man was arrested a short distance away

- the man was identified from a previous assault involving a TTC driver

Dean Watson, 62, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1. Two counts of Assault
2. Four counts of Fail to Comply Probation

He is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Thursday, January 10, 2019, at 10 a.m, in room 101.

Assault Causing Bodily Harm investigation, Danforth Avenue and Barrington Avenue area, Man wanted

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance identifying a man wanted in an Assault Causing Bodily Harm investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Saturday, November 17, 2018, at approximately 12:15 a.m., a 59-year-old man was inside a bar in the Danforth Avenue and Barrington Avenue area

- he was assaulted by a male patron in the bar and was left unconscious on the floor

- the male patron left the bar with a woman

- the man sustained non-life-threatening injuries

The man is described as having a large build with long hair in a ponytail. He was wearing a zip-up sweater, a t-shirt, pants and shoes.

The police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying the man in this video.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a missing woman.

Jun Xia Ma, 81, was last seen on Sunday, January 6, 2019, at 10:55 a.m., in the Midland Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East area.

She is described as 5’3”, 110 lbs. She was last seen wearing a grey winter coat, with a distinct green fur around the hood, black pants, wearing sunglasses, possibly has a wig in dark-brown or black. She was carrying a reusable shopping bag.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Personal Injury Collision #2/2019, Now Fatal #1/2019, Close Avenue and Queen Street West

On Monday, January 7, 2019, at 8:12 p.m., police responded to a call for a Personal Injury Collision that occurred on Close Avenue south of Queen Street West.

It is reported that:

- a 65-year-old woman was driving a Mazda, westbound on Queen Street West

- she turned left onto southbound Close Avenue

- a 60-year-old man was operating a personal mobility device, southbound on Close Avenue south of Queen Street West

- the vehicle struck the man on his personal mobility device

- the pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital

On Tuesday, January 8, 2019, the man died from his injuries.

Police are asking local residents, business, and drivers, who may have security or dash-camera footage of the area or incident, to contact investigators.

Robbery with a Firearm investigation, Dundas Street East and Victoria Street, Four men wanted

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance identifying four men wanted in a robbery with a firearm investigation.

On Saturday, January 5, 2019, at approximately 11:18 p.m., officers responded to a call for a robbery in the Dundas Street East and Victoria Street area.

It is reported that:

- two men in their 20's were in the area

- they were approached from behind by a group of suspects

- one of the suspects produced a firearm, demanding personal items

- one of the victims was struck by a suspect with the firearm

- the group of suspects fled

Officers responding to the call were able to make several arrests.

A 16-year-old boy, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1. Robbery with a Firearm
2. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
3. Two counts of Fail to Comply with Recognizance

He will appear in court at 311 Jarvis Street on Thursday, January 24, 2019, at 2 p.m., in room 1.

Abdulla Addulkadir Musse, 32, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1. Robbery with a Firearm
2. Fail to Comply with Probation

Stevon Thavanayagam, 18, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1. Robbery with a Firearm
2. Two counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance

Videlle Rutherford, 26, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1. Robbery with a firearm
2. Possession of Counterfeit Currency

All three men appeared in court at Old City Hall on Sunday, January 6, 2019, at 10 a.m., in room 101.

Four suspects remain outstanding.

Suspect #1 is described as 20-30, 5'6", wearing a white hooded sweater, a black jacket, white baggy pants and black shoes.

Suspect #2 is described as 25-25, 6'1", wearing a black baseball hat, a black sweater, navy zip-up jacket, and dark jeans.

Suspect #3 is described as 25-35, 5'9", wearing glasses, a black hooded sweater, a black and grey jacket, blue jeans and white shoes.

Suspect #4 is described as 25-35, 5'5", wearing glasses, a black hooded sweater, a black vest, blue jeans and white shoes.

Images of the four suspects have been released.

Serguei Frolov, 33, was last seen on Thursday, January 3, 2019, at 12 p.m., in the Bathurst Street and Finch Avenue West area.

He is described as 6’0”, with blue eyes, unshaven, and short brown hair. He is believe to be dressed for the weather but there is no clothing description at this time.

There is no picture available currently.

The Toronto Police Service requests assistance identifying a man wanted in a robbery investigation.

On Monday, January 7, 2019, at approximately 4:30 p.m., officers responded to a call for a robbery in the Spadina Avenue and Sullivan Street area.

It is reported that:

-a 52-year-old woman was crossing the street

- she was approached from behind by an unknown man

- he grabbed her purse with such force that she was knocked down

- she was dragged on the ground as the suspect pulled her purse

The man is described as 20-30, 5'5", wearing a black parka, grey mittens, light blue jeans and a brown fur Yukon hat.

Surveillance camera video and an image of him is released.

On Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at 2:16 p.m., police responded to a call for Unknown Trouble at 544 Birchmount Road.

See previous release.

It is alleged that:

- a man stabbed a woman

- she was located by officers with life-threatening injuries

- she was pronounced deceased at the scene

She has been identified as Lorraine Kerubo Ogoti, 30, of Toronto.

The man has been identified as Mowlid Hassan, 40, of Toronto. Post-mortem examination has determined his cause of death to be blunt force trauma.

While the investigation continues, police are not looking for any other suspects.

Police seeking assistance in identifying driver and vehicle that fled from police, Humberline Drive north of Finch Avenue West

The Toronto Police Service, Traffic Services is seeking the public's assistance in identifying a driver and vehicle that fled from police.

It is reported that:

- on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at 10:56 a.m., an officer from Traffic Services was conducting speed enforcement duties on Humberline Drive north of Finch Avenue West

- the officer observed a vehicle speeding southbound on Humberline Drive and attempted to stop it

- the driver of the vehicle did not stop and fled from police

- the vehicle continued south on Humberline Drive, onto westbound Finch Avenue West, then onto the northbound Highway 427

- the officer followed in attempts to identify the vehicle and or the driver

- while on northbound Highway 427, the officer pulled up beside the driver’s side of the vehicle in attempts to identify the driver, at this point, the vehicle veered to the left and collided with the police vehicle

- the officer then discontinued the pursuit of the vehicle

- the suspect vehicle is described as a white Mercedes Sprinter Van, high roof, with no windows on the side panels of the van

- the vehicle may have damage and grey paint transfer all along the driver’s side of the van

The driver is described as having a medium complexion, mid-thirties, small goatee, and was wearing a dark toque

The rear licence plate AW54207, attached to the vehicle did not belong to the suspect vehicle

Police are asking local residents, business, and drivers, who may have security or dash camera footage of the area or incident, to contact investigators.

One man arrested, one man outstanding in shooting investigation, Walpole Avenue and Greenwood Avenue

The Toronto Police Service requests the public's assistance locating a man wanted in a shooting investigation.

On Friday, January 4, 2019, at approximately 2:22 a.m., officers responded to a call for a shooting in the Walpole Avenue and Greenwood Avenue area.

It is alleged that:

- two cars, a grey Nissan Altima and a red Nissan Altima, were parked

- each with a number of occupants seated inside

- an unknown man approached on foot and began shooting at the two cars

- occupants in the two vehicles began shooting back at the man

- as the man fled, he was followed by the two vehicles

- an exchange of gunfire continued as he ran onto Walpole Avenue

- one of the occupants in the vehicle was shot

- he made his way to hospital where he was treated for his injuries

Steven Karapetrov, 25, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

1. Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
2. Point Firearm
3. Possess Weapon Dangerous to Public Peace
4. Use Firearm to Commit Indictable Offence
5. Discharge Firearm with Intent
6. Conspiracy to Commit Murder
7. Occupy Motor Vehicle with Firearm
8. Attempt Murder

He is scheduled to appear in court at College Park on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at 10 a.m., in room 505.

Benvolio Valenski, 27, of Ajax, is wanted for:

1. Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
2. Point Firearm
3. Possess Weapon Dangerous to Public Peace
4. Use Firearm to Commit Indictable Offence
5. Discharge Firearm with Intent
6. Conspiracy to Commit Murder
7. Occupy Motor Vehicle with Firearm
8. Attempt Murder
9. two counts of Fail to Comply with Recognizance

A photograph of him is released.

He is believed to be violent, armed and dangerous. If located, do not approach. Call 9-1-1 immediately.
