Man wanted in Sexual Assault investigation, Finch Avenue West and Keele Street area, Update, Man, 60, arrested and charged

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a Sexual Assault investigation.

On Friday, August 31, 2018, at 1 p.m., police responded to a call for a Sexual Assault in the Finch Avenue West and Keele Street area.

On Thursday, September 6, 2018, John Sachs, 60, of Cambridge, was arrested.

He is charged with:

1) Sexual Assault

He appeared in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West on Thursday, September 6, 2018.

Man wanted in Sexual Assault investigation, Orfus Road and Dufflaw Road area

The Toronto Police Service requests assistance locating a man wanted in a Sexual Assault investigation.

On Friday, September 7, 2018, at approximately 1 p.m., officers responded to a call for a Sexual Assault in the Orfus Road and Dufflaw Road area.

It is reported that:

- a 22-year-old woman was sitting down, eating her lunch

- a man approached her and engaged in conversation

- he sexually assaulted her

- she was able to break free and run for help

The man is described as tanned complexion, 35-40, goatee, short black hair, brown eyes. He was wearing a grey T-shirt, dark jeans.

Homicide #76/2018, Martin Grove Road and Redgrave Drive area, Ameer Saib, 50, Man, 20, charged with Second-Degree Murder

On Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at approximately 4:30 p.m., police responded to a Stabbing call in the Martin Grove Road and Redgrave Drive area.

Officers arrived on scene and located a man with apparent stab wounds. Paramedics began lifesaving efforts however he was pronounced at the scene.

He has been identified as Ameer Saib, 50, of Toronto.

It is alleged that:

- a man, 20, fled the scene in a vehicle

- he was located in the Hwy 401 East and Islington Avenue area

He was arrested by police and taken to hospital via emergency run.

Homicide investigators took over the investigation.

On Wednesday, September 12, 2018, Noah Saib, 20, of Toronto, was charged with:

1) Second-Degree Murder

He is scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West on Friday, September 14, 2018.

Man, 25, arrested in connection with 11 retail Robberies, Facing 32 charges

Toronto Police Service Hold Up would like to make the public aware of an arrest and charges laid from a joint investigation into 11 retail Robberies in Peel Region and Toronto.

It is alleged that:

- between Tuesday, August 14, 2018 and Friday, September 7, 2018, a masked man targeted 11 retail gas stations

- the man initially was armed with a knife but then committed eight robberies while armed with an air pistol

- during the robberies, the man approached the victims with his weapon and made a demand for money

- in several of the robberies, he held the weapon to the victim’s head or stomach

- fearing for their safety, the victims complied with the demands and the man fled with a quantity of money

- the man made his escape using a stolen white Dodge Caravan

It is further alleged that:

- the man was identified by Peel Regional Police Central Robbery Bureau

- on Friday, September 7, 2018, the man was located in the stolen vehicle by officers from 23 Division

Toronto Police Service Hold Up charged Chanvir Fangura, 25, of Mississauga, with:

1) Nine counts of Robbery with a firearm
2) Three counts of Robbery with an Offensive Weapon
3) 11 counts of Disguise with Intent
4) Three counts of Weapons Dangerous
5) Theft over $500
6) Possession of Property obtained by Crime (over)
7) Three counts of Theft Under
8) Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle

He appeared in court at Old City Hall on Sunday, September 9, 2018, 10 a.m., room 111.

Homicide #75/2018, 103 West Lodge Avenue, Victim identified, Man, 30, arrested, charged with First-Degree Murder, Man, 28, arrested, charged with Second-Degree Murder

The Toronto Police Service would like to advise the public of two arrests in a Homicide investigation.

On Saturday, September 8, 2018, at 11:27 p.m., officers responded to a call for a suspicious death at 103 West Lodge Avenue.

Officers arrived to find a man lying on the front driveway with apparent serious injuries. He was pronounced on scene.

He has been identified as Chad Day, 42, of Toronto.

On Wednesday, September 12, 2018, Lee Newelln, 30, of Hamilton, was arrested. He has been charged with:

1) First-Degree Murder

He appeared in court at Old City Hall on Wednesday, September 12, 2018.

On Wednesday, September 12, 2018, Christopher Small, 28, of Hamilton, was arrested. He has been charged with:

1) Second-Degree Murder

He is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Thursday, September 13, 2018.

There is one suspect still outstanding.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses and information.

Ukrainian Festival & Parade, Friday, September 14, 2018 to Sunday, September 16, 2018, Road closures

The Ukrainian Festival & Parade will be held on Bloor Street West, between Jane Street and Runnymede Road, from Friday, September 14, 2018 at 5 p.m. until Sunday, September 16, 2018 at 7 p.m.

Event organizers anticipate approximately 700,000 people will attend this event during the three-day period.

Festival hours:
Friday, September 14, 2018: 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Saturday, September 15, 2018: 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Sunday, September 16, 2018: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The Ukrainian Parade will take place on Saturday, September 16, 2018, starting at 11 a.m. within High Park and will proceed out onto westbound Bloor Street West, northbound on Jane Street, and eastbound on Weatherell Street to the dispersal area. The parade concludes at approximately noon. The Bloor Street West road closure will extend from Runnymede Road to High Park Avenue during the parade.

Road closures for this event will run from Friday, September 14, 2018, at 9:30 a.m. until midnight on Sunday, September 16, 2018:

- Bloor Street West, from Jane Street and Runnymede Road (full closure on Bloor Street West)

- Bloor Street West road closure will extend from Runnymede Road to High Park Avenue for the parade on Saturday, September 17, 2017 from approximately 11 a.m. until noon.

Missing woman, Bloor Street East and Broadview Avenue area, Jacqueline Roberts, 52

The Toronto Police Service requests assistance locating a missing woman.

Jacqueline Roberts, 52, was last seen on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at approximately 4:47 p.m., in the Bloor Street East and Broadview Avenue area.

She is described as white, 5'10", 125 lbs., thin build, short dark-brown hair, some missing teeth, scar on her chin. She was last seen wearing a red headband, white blouse, black cardigan, black pants, bright-blue Crocs shoes, carrying a green purse.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Police seek assistance with shooting investigation, 720 Midland Avenue

The Toronto Police Service is seeking assistance with a shooting investigation.

On Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at 11:48 a.m., officers responded to a shooting at the Scarborough Centre for Alternative Studies at 720 Midland Avenue.

It is reported that:

- a physical altercation ensued between two males at the school

- during the altercation, one male fired a shot at the other male, causing minor injuries

- the suspect ran from the area and was last seen northbound on Midland Avenue

He is described as black, 19-20, 5’5"-5’6", slim build. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, black sports Adidas jacket, dark-grey low-riding jeans, white shoes.

Investigators are appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident, or who has information, to contact police.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting assistance identifying a man wanted in a Sexual Assault investigation.

It has been reported that:

- in August 2016, a woman, then 44, was travelling on a TTC bus in the Eglinton Avenue West and Avenue Road area, when she was sexually assaulted by another passenger

It was further reported that:

- on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, she was again travelling on a bus, when she recognized the man and was able to photograph him

He is described as 50-60, approximately 5'9", medium build, white hair.

His photograph has been released.

The Toronto Police Service requests assistance identifying a man wanted in a Sexual Assault investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Monday, August 27, 2018, at approximately 4:20 p.m., a 29-year-old woman was walking on the sidewalk in the Yonge Street and Church Street area

- a man approached her from behind and sexually assaulted her

The man is described as mid-to-late 20s, black, medium complexion, thin build, facial hair on the sides of his face and chin, wearing a dark top, dark hat, dark pants.

Adam Collier, 35, arrested in Child-Luring investigation, Faces 15 new charges, Police concerned there may be other victims

On Thursday, June 29, 2017, as part of an investigation into luring of a child under 16, members of the Toronto Police Service Child Exploitation Section arrested Adam Collier, 35, of Toronto.

He was charged with:

1) Make sexually explicit material available for the purpose of making child pornography
2) Luring for the purpose of making child pornography (Under 18)
3) Luring for the purpose of invitation to sexual touching (Under 16)
4) Attempt to make child pornography
5) Attempt invitation to sexual touching

As a result of that investigation, on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, Adam Collier was additionally charged with:

1) Make child pornography
2) Access child pornography
3) Possess child pornography
4) Indecent act
5) Attempt invitation to sexual touching
6) Luring for the purpose of making child pornography
7) Luring for the purpose of sexual interference
8) Luring for the purpose of sexual assault
9) Luring for the purpose of indecent act
10) Make sexually explicit material available for the purpose of making child pornography
11) Make sexually explicit material available for the purpose of sexual interference
12) Make sexually explicit material available for the purpose of sexual assault
13) Make sexually explicit material available for the purpose of invitation to sexual touching
14) Make sexually explicit material available for the purpose of indecent act
15) Agreement or arrangement for sexual offence against child for the purpose of sexual assault

It is alleged that Adam Collier posted ads on craigslist looking for high school girls and was using the email addresses of:
- “ justmylittlesecret3@gmail.com ”
- “ justmylittlesecret4@gmail.com ”
- “ justmylittlesecret5@gmail.com ”

He is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Wednesday, September 26, 2018.

Police are concerned there may be other victims and would like to speak with anyone who has communicated with Adam Collier in this capacity.

2018 RBC Run for the Kids Supporting Youth Mental Health at Sunnybrook, Saturday, September 15, 2018, Mel Lastman Square area

On Saturday, September 15, 2018, the RBC Run for the Kids Supporting Youth Mental Health at Sunnybrook will take place.

The race will consist of three distances, 5km, 7km, and 15km, which begin and end in the Mel Lastman Square area. A significant portion of the 15km race takes place in parkland.

All three distances will have various road closures and lane restrictions associated to them. Motorists can expect delays.

The 15km route:

- southbound Beecroft Road from Park Home Avenue to North York Boulevard
- eastbound North York Boulevard from Beecroft Road to Yonge Street
- northbound Yonge Street from North York Boulevard to Finch Avenue West
- westbound Finch Avenue from Yonge Street to Dufferin Street
- northbound Dufferin Street from Finch Avenue West to Supertest Road
- eastbound G. Ross Lord Park from Supertest Road to Torresdale Avenue
- southbound Torresdale Avenue to Finch Corridor Recreational Trail
- eastbound Finch Corridor Recreational Trail/Finch Hydro Corridor to Talbot Road
- southbound Talbot Road from Finch Hydro Corridor to Finch Avenue West
- eastbound Finch Avenue West to Yonge Street
- southbound Yonge Street from Finch Avenue West to North York Boulevard
- westbound North York Boulevard (the finish line)


The 7km route:

- southbound Beecroft Road from Park Home Avenue to North York Boulevard
- eastbound North York Boulevard from Beecroft Road to Yonge Street
- southbound Yonge Street from North York Boulevard to Sheppard Avenue West
- turn around on Yonge Street at Sheppard Avenue West
- northbound Yonge Street from turnaround to south of Newton Avenue
- southbound Yonge Street to North York Boulevard (the finish line)


The 5km route:

- southbound Beecroft Road from Park Home Avenue to North York Boulevard
- eastbound North York Boulevard from Beecroft Road to Yonge Street
- southbound Yonge Street from North York Boulevard to Sheppard Avenue West
- turnaround on Yonge Street at Sheppard Avenue West
- northbound Yonge Street from turnaround to Turnberry Court
- southbound Yonge Street to North York Boulevard (the finish line)

The Polish Festival, Saturday, September 15, 2018 to Sunday, September 16, 2018, Road closure

The Polish Festival will take place on Saturday, September 15, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., and on Sunday, September 16, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., on Roncesvalles Avenue.

A road closure will take place as follows:

On Saturday, September 15, 2018, at 5 a.m., until Sunday, September 16, 2018, at 11:59 p.m.: Roncesvalles Avenue will be closed between Grafton Avenue and Boustead Avenue

The TTC will maintain service on Howard Park Avenue. All other routes will divert around the festival.

Motorists can expect delays in the area. Those attending this event are encouraged to take the TTC as parking in the area will be limited.

This event will take place regardless of weather conditions.
