The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an investigation in which two men have been arrested and two firearms seized.
It is alleged that:
- On Saturday, August 11, 2018, at 2:20 a.m., officers from 55 Division were on general patrol and investigated two motor vehicles in the
Don Mills Road and O’Connor Drive area
- during this investigation, a shotgun and a handgun, both with ammunition, were seized
- a number of knives and a quantity of cocaine, hashish, marijuana, ecstasy, and methamphetamine were also seized.
Darrin Peever, 43, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
1. Novice driver BAC above zero
2. Fail to Transfer Ownership
3. Plates Not Authorized
4. Operate Motor Vehicle without Insurance
5. Drive Motor Vehicle Open Liquor
6. Possession of a Firearm Restricted or Prohibited No Licence
7. Possession of a Firearm Knowingly not Holding a Licence
8. Possession of a Firearm Obtained by Crime
9. Careless Storage of a Firearm
10. Careless Storage of Ammunition
11. Occupy a Motor Vehicle with a Firearm
12. Possession of a Weapon Contrary to an Order
13. Possession of a Firearm Restricted or Prohibited no Licence
14. Possession of a Firearm Knowingly not Holding a Licence
15. Possession of a Firearm Obtained by Crime
16. Careless Storage of a Firearm
17. Careless Storage of Ammunition
18. Occupy a Motor Vehicle with a Firearm
19. Possession of an Unloaded Restricted or Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition Readily Available
20. Possession of a Weapon Contrary to an Order
21. Four counts of Possession of Schedule 1 Substance
22. Two counts of Possession of Schedule 2 Substance
23. Possession of Schedule 2 for the Purpose of Trafficking
24. Possession of Schedule 1 for the Purpose of Trafficking
Brad Rhodes, 41, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
1. Possession of a Firearm other than Restricted or Prohibited no Licence
2. Possession of a Firearm Knowingly not Holding a Licence
3. Possession of a Firearm Obtained by Crime
4. Careless Storage of a Firearm
5. Careless Storage of Ammunition
6. Occupy a Motor Vehicle with a Firearm
7. Possession of a Weapon Contrary to an Order
8. Possession of a Firearm Restricted or Prohibited no Licence
9. Possession of a Firearm Knowingly not Holding a Licence
10. Possession of a Firearm Obtained by Crime
11. Careless Storage of a Firearm
12. Careless Storage of Ammunition
13. Occupy a Motor Vehicle with a Firearm
14. Possession of an Unloaded Restricted or Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition readily available
15. Possession of a Weapon Contrary to an Order
16. Four counts of Possession of Schedule 1 Substance
17. Two counts of Possession of Schedule 2 Substance
18. Possession of Schedule 2 for the Purpose of Trafficking
19. Possession of Schedule 1 for the Purpose of Trafficking
They were both scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Sunday, August 12, 2018, at 10 a.m., in room 103.
