The Toronto Police Service requests the public’s assistance locating a missing man.

Manuel Pereira, 84, was last seen on Thursday, August 9, 2018, at 4:30 p.m., in the Ossington Avenue and Dundas Street West area.

He is described as 5’5”, with a slim build, brown eyes and short white balding hair. He was last seen wearing a dark blue t-shirt, light grey pants, dark brown shoes and teal-framed eyeglasses.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Yorcaef Rodriguez-Martinez, 19, was last seen Thursday, August 9, 2018, at 5 a.m., in the Sheppard Avenue West and Laura Road area.

He is described as 5’4”, 140 lbs., with a medium build and wavy black hair.

He was last seen wearing a grey sweater and black rain-proof jogging pants.

Police are concerned for his safety.

2018 Taste of the Danforth, Friday, August 10, to Sunday, August 12, 2018, Road closures

The Greektown on the Danforth BIA will host the 2018 Taste of the Danforth street festival from Friday, August 10, 2018 to Sunday, August 12, 2018. Approximately 1.6 million people are expected to attend the festivities, to experience the culture, and to enjoy the food and entertainment. This event will proceed regardless of weather conditions.

During the event, Danforth Avenue between Broadview Avenue and Jones Avenue will be closed to all traffic.

Road closures will go into effect on Friday, August, 10, 2018, at 10 a.m., and will remain in place until Monday, August 13, 2018, at 3 a.m.

Vehicles are advised to take alternate routes as there will be traffic delays in the area and various TTC routes will be diverted.

Man wanted in Bank Robbery investigation, Jesse Jack Breese, 21

The Toronto Police Service - Hold Up Squad is seeking the public's assistance locating a man wanted in a bank robbery investigation.

It is alleged that:

- on Thursday, May 24, 2018, at 5:05 p.m., four men were in a stolen 2017 Honda Accord

- the men drove to a bank branch located near Warden Avenue and St. Clair Avenue East

- three men entered the bank, disguising their identities with masks, sunglasses and hooded sweatshirts

- one of the men discharged a round from a handgun into the floor

- the other two men ordered all the customers to lay down on the floor

- the men obtained a quantity of money and fled the bank


On Thursday, June 7, 2018, following an investigation by the Hold Up Squad, the get-away driver and one man were arrested. The Honda Accord get-away vehicle was located and seized.

A Canada-Wide arrest warrant has been issued for Jesse Jack Breese, 21, of No Fixed Address. He is wanted for the following:

1. Robbery While Armed with a Firearm
2. Disguise with Intent
3. Discharge Firearm with Intent
4. Careless Use Firearm
5. Possession Weapon for Committing Offence
6. Use Firearm Commit Indictable Offence
7. Illegal Possession of Firearm with Ammunition
8. Unauthorized Possession Firearm
9. Possession Firearm Knowing it's Unauthorized
10. Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence

He is described as 6'3", with a slim build and short dark hair. He occasionally wears prescription glasses. He is known to frequent both Barrie and Toronto.

He is considered armed and dangerous. If seen, do not approach, and immediately call police.

The handgun alleged to have been used during the robbery has not been recovered.

Adrieanna Meecham, 13, was last seen on Tuesday, August 8, 2018, at 4 p.m., in the O'Connor Drive and St. Clair Avenue East area.

She is described as 5',6”, with long curly brown hair. She was last seen wearing a blue “do rag”, a black Tommy Hilfiger shirt, blue jeans and a black Jansport Backpack.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Traffic fatality #41/2018, Bellamy Road and Brimorton Drive, Marc Laurin, 29, now wanted

On Friday, August 10, 2018, at 8:57 p.m., a fatal collision occurred in the intersection of Bellamy Road and Brimorton Drive.

It is alleged that:

- a 71-year-old man was riding a motorcycle westbound on Brimorton Drive

- a man, driving a black Dodge Challenger, was travelling northbound on Bellamy Road

- the car struck the motorcycle

- the rider was pronounced at the scene

- the man fled the scene on foot

Marc Laurin, 29, of Toronto, is wanted for:

1. Unlawfully at Large
2. Dangerous Operation Causing Death
3. Fail to Stop After Collision

He is described as 5'10", 160 lbs., with a medium build, short black hair, and he was unshaven. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, dark pants and a dark blazer.

He is believed to be violent and dangerous. If located, do not approach. Call 9-1-1 immediately.

George Flie, 78, was last heard from on Friday, August 10, 2018, at 9 p.m., from the Kennedy Subway Station.

He is described as 5’5”, 135 lbs., with black, grey and white shoulder-length hair. He always wears a grey brimmed hat and he was using his black wheelchair.

We have no clothing description at this time.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Arrests made in drug investigation, Dowling Avenue and King Street West area, Three people face multiple charges

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of three arrests in a drug investigation.

It is alleged that:

- on Friday, August 10, 2018, a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant was conducted at an address in the Dowling Avenue and King Street West area

- officers located quantities of fentanyl, powdered cocaine, crack cocaine and Canadian money

John Okoro, 23, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

1. Three counts of Possession of Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
2. Three counts of Possession of Schedule I Substance
3. Possession of Proceeds of Crime under $5000
4. Fail to Comply with Probation

Andrea Morrow, 61, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

1. Three counts of Possession of Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
2. Three counts of Possession of Schedule I Substance

Stephanie Arsenio, 22, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

1. Three counts of Possession of Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
2. Three counts of Possession of Schedule I Substance

They were scheduled to appear in court on Saturday, August 11, 2018, at 10 a.m., at Old City Hall courts, room 101.

Esmail Khalid, 26, was last seen on Sunday, August 12, 2018, at 1:15 p.m., in the Sheppard Avenue East and Leslie Avenue area.

He is described as 5’4”, with a thin build, brown eyes, and medium-length curly black hair. He is clean shaven with a mustache. He was last seen wearing a blue suit with a blue striped tie, a white dress shirt and black shoes.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Two men arrested, face multiple charges, Two firearms seized, Don Mills Road and O’Connor Drive area

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an investigation in which two men have been arrested and two firearms seized.

It is alleged that:

- On Saturday, August 11, 2018, at 2:20 a.m., officers from 55 Division were on general patrol and investigated two motor vehicles in the Don Mills Road and O’Connor Drive area

- during this investigation, a shotgun and a handgun, both with ammunition, were seized

- a number of knives and a quantity of cocaine, hashish, marijuana, ecstasy, and methamphetamine were also seized.


Darrin Peever, 43, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

1. Novice driver BAC above zero
2. Fail to Transfer Ownership
3. Plates Not Authorized
4. Operate Motor Vehicle without Insurance
5. Drive Motor Vehicle Open Liquor
6. Possession of a Firearm Restricted or Prohibited No Licence
7. Possession of a Firearm Knowingly not Holding a Licence
8. Possession of a Firearm Obtained by Crime
9. Careless Storage of a Firearm
10. Careless Storage of Ammunition
11. Occupy a Motor Vehicle with a Firearm

Investigators believe the man responsible is in the Scarborough area. It is believed that he is being assisted by a friend. Anyone who aids him may be committing a criminal offence and may be subject to charges.

Police seek assistance with Attempt Murder investigation, Tree Sparroway and Leslie Street

The Toronto Police Service is seeking the public's assistance in an Attempt Murder investigation.

On Saturday, August 11, 2018, at 5:02 p.m., police responded to multiple radio calls for the sound of gunshots in the Tree Sparroway and Leslie Street area.

It is reported that:

- a vehicle was firing multiple gunshots inside the garage area of a complex

- the vehicle was seen driving away, continuing to fire rounds

- multiple shell casings were located in the area

- two men took themselves to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries

Starting Tuesday, August 14, 2018, members of the public are invited to sign Books of Condolence for the families of Constables Robb Costello and Sara Burns, members of the Fredericton Police Force who were killed in the line of duty on Friday, August 10, 2018.

The Books will be available in the main lobby of Toronto Police Service Headquarters, located at 40 College Street.

They will then be privately presented to the families of the officers.

Personal injury collision #32/2018, Claremore Avenue and Craiglee Drive

On Monday, August 6, 2018, at 9:14 a.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collision at Claremore Avenue and Craiglee Drive.

It is reported that:

- a man, 66, was driving a Pontiac G6, northbound on Claremore Avenue at Craiglee Drive,

- a man, 82, in a motorized wheelchair, was attempting to cross Claremore Avenue at Craiglee Drive

- the 82-year-old man was struck by the vehicle

He received life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital.

Police are asking local residents, businesses, and drivers, who may have security or dash-camera footage of the area or incident, to contact investigators.

Personal injury collision #33/2018, Dufferin Street, south of Gibson Street

On Sunday, August 12, 2018, at 12:26 a.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collision at Dufferin Street, south of Gibson Street.

It is reported that:

- a man, 30, was driving a Kawasaki motorcycle, northbound on Dufferin Street, south of Gibson Street

- a man, 30, was driving a Toyota Rav4, southbound on Dufferin Street, south of Gibson Street

- for reasons not yet determined, the motorcycle entered the southbound lanes and was struck by the southbound Toyota

The driver of the motorcycle received life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital.

Police are asking local residents, businesses, and drivers, who may have security or dash-camera footage of the area or incident, to contact investigators.
