The Toronto Police Service requests assistance with a shooting investigation.

On Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at 2:40 a.m., officers responded to a call for a shooting in the Portland Street and King Street West area.

See previous release.

Investigators have identified a Person of Interest and a vehicle which were in the immediate area at the time of the shooting. They are seeking the public's assistance locating both.

Susan Njeri, 17, was last seen on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at 3 p.m., in the Warden Avenue and Cataraqui Crescent area.

She is described as 5’2", 119 lbs., short black braided hair. She was last seen wearing a grey halter top, black leggings.

Police are concerned for her safety.

This is the latest instalment of 14 Division's "Fugitive Friday." We are looking for Pio Portocarrero Cruces, 36, of Toronto.

He is wanted on the strength of a Warrant in the First for:

1) Two counts of Assault
2) Three counts of Assault Cause Bodily Harm
3) Two counts of Fail to Comply Probation

He is described as 5’7”, 140 lbs., black hair, brown eyes.

Police seek assistance identifying man in Fraud Investigation, Keele Street and Finch Avenue West area, Security camera image of man released

The Toronto Police Service requests assistance identifying a man wanted in a Fraud investigation.

It is reported that:

- between Wednesday, July 18, 2018, and Saturday, July 21, 2018, a man attended a car dealership business wishing to purchase a high-end vehicle in the Keele Street and Finch Avenue West area

- the man used fraudulent identification to apply for financing and was approved due to impersonating an innocent third party

- he then took possession of a vehicle without making a single payment

The man is described as 45-55, approximately 6', 180 lbs.

The stolen vehicle is a 2018 BMW with Ontario dealer plate number 616 DPZ.

A security camera image of the man has been released.

Susan Humfryes, 49, was last seen on Sunday, July 29, 2018, in the Charles Street and Yonge Street area.

She is described as 5’11”, heavy build, with long light brown hair. There are no clothing descriptions at this time.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Two men charged in drug trafficking and firearm investigation, Each facing 20 charges

On Thursday, August 2, 2018, the Toronto Police Organized Crime Enforcement Drug Squad concluded a drug trafficking investigation near the Highway 401 and McCowan Avenue area.

It is alleged that:

- two men were trafficking powder cocaine while armed with a 7.62 calibre semi-automatic rifle

On Thursday August 2, 2018, Jaspal Bhatti, 22, and Sujan Balasubramaniam, 19, both of Toronto, were arrested and each charged with:

1. three Counts of Trafficking Cocaine
2. two Counts of Possession For the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine
3. two Counts of Possession For the Purpose of Trafficking Marihuana
4. Possession For the Purpose of Trafficking Psilocybin
5. eight Counts of Possession of Proceeds of Crime
6. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
7. Possession of Firearm knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
8. Careless Storage of Firearm
9. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle and Careless storage of Ammunition

Both men are scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Friday, August 3, 2018, 10 a.m.

Missing man located, Portland Street and Richmond Street West area, Anthony Siciliano, 18

Man, 39, charged in child pornography investigation, Tobermory Drive and Finch Avenue West

On Monday, July 30, 2018, members of the Toronto Police Service 33 Division Major Crime Unit executed a Criminal Code search warrant in the Tobermory Drive and Finch Avenue West area.

As a result of the evidence gathered by police, Russell Norman, 39, of Toronto, was arrested.

It is alleged:

- he possessed child sexual abuse material

Russell Norman, 39, of Toronto, was charged with:

1) Possession of Child Pornography

He appeared in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West, on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at 10 a.m.

Personal injury collision #31/2018, Jane Street, and Firth Road

On Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at 9:03 p.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collision at Jane Street, north of Firth Road.

It is reported that:

- a man, 18, was driving a BMW 323i, southbound on Jane Street approaching Firth Road

- a male pedestrian, 68, was attempting to cross Jane Street

- the pedestrian was struck by the vehicle

The man received life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital.

Police are asking local residents, businesses, and drivers, who may have security or dash-camera footage of the area or incident, to contact investigators.

Man Wanted in Threatening Investigation, Mark Livingston, 48, Photo released

The Toronto Police Service requests the public's assistance locating a man wanted in a Threatening investigation.

On Thursday, August 2, 2018, at approximately 6:45 p.m., the Toronto Police Service received a call in the Lawrence Avenue East and McCowan Road area.

It is reported that:

- a man, 48, connected with a woman

- he sent her text messages

- he continued to have contact with the woman throughout the night

- within the text messages he told the woman he would harm her and damage property

Mark Livingston, 48, of Toronto, is wanted for:

1. Utter threats (death)

2. Utter threats (damage to property)

His photograph is being released. Police believe him to be violent and dangerous. If located, do not approach. Call 9-1-1 immediately.

Peeks Toronto Caribbean Carnival Parade

The 51st annual Toronto Caribbean Carnival Grand Parade is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 4, 2018.

The Parade will commence at 8:30 a.m. and will conclude at 9:30 p.m.

According to the Festival Management Committee (FMC), a total of 11 large Mas Bands, 6-8 guest bands, and six Steel Bands will depart from Exhibition Place from British Columbia Road, travel east along Lake Shore Blvd West, and return into Exhibition Place at Canada Blvd.

The bands will pass through the judging area, and then establish individual “Blockorama” style concerts in various locations throughout Exhibition Place and along Lake Shore Boulevard West. The bands will continue to play music until 8:30 p.m., within Exhibition Place Grounds, 8:45 p.m., in the Ontario Place Parking lot and until 9:00 p.m., on Lake Shore Boulevard West.

Paid admission is required for access and viewing within the Exhibition Place Grounds, viewing the parade from Lakeshore Boulevard West is free of charge.

ROAD CLOSURES

The festival will require numerous road closures and restrictions which will lead to delays and congestion in the immediate area of the parade. The traffic conditions in the downtown area, Lake Shore Boulevard West, The Queensway, Queens Quay West and the Fred Gardiner Expressway are expected to be very heavy.

Road closures within Exhibition Place Grounds and Lake Shore Boulevard West for this event take effect Saturday, August 4, at 2 a.m., until Sunday, August 5, at approximately 6 a.m., including:

- Westbound Lake Shore Boulevard West will be closed to traffic from Bathurst Street to Parkside Drive

- Eastbound Lake Shore Boulevard West will be closed from Colborne Lodge to Bathurst Street

- Dufferin Street south of Springhurst Avenue

- Strachan Ave south of Liberty Street

- Vehicle access west of Bathurst St. on Fleet St. may be closed after the parking lot at Exhibition Place and the Gore Lots are full. This closure will be determined by need.


The following Gardiner Expressway ramps will be closed at 2 a.m., on Saturday, August 4, 2018:

- eastbound Gardiner Expressway exit to Jameson Avenue,

- Jameson Avenue and British Columbia entrance ramps to eastbound Gardiner Expressway

- westbound Gardiner Expressway to Dunn Avenue exit ramp.

The Gardiner Expressway is a restricted access highway which will be patrolled to ensure that vehicles are not parked adjacent to the parade route and pedestrians do not enter the highway area. Drivers who choose to stop or drive in a manner that puts other road users at risk will be subject to strict enforcement.

RESTRICTED ACCESS POINTS

In order to assist the safe movement of traffic and to provide for as little disruption as possible to residents, the following streets will have a restricted access, for vehicles:

- Dufferin Street south of King Street West

- Dowling Avenue south of King Street West

- Stadium Road south of Lake Shore Boulevard west

- Queens Quay West west of Bathurst Street

- Springhurst Avenue west of Jameson Avenue

- Springhurst Avenue east of Jameson Avenue

Other streets, although not restricted to vehicles, will be strictly enforced for parking infractions. Those streets are bounded by King Street West, east of Colborne Lodge and west of Bathurst Street.


TOWING POLICY

All vehicles including tour buses, parked illegally on the following streets will be tagged and towed:

- Lake Shore Boulevard West (including the grassed area),
- Rememberance Drive,
- Bathurst Street,
- Fleet Street,
- King Street West,
- Queen Street West,
- Roncesvalles Avenue,
- Dufferin Street,
- The Queensway, and
- Gardiner Expressway


Vehicles parked illegally in the Parkdale and Stadium Road areas will be tagged and towed.

It is recommended that you make yourself aware of alternative routes before heading into the downtown or entertainment district areas to avoid delays.

The Toronto Transit Commission will provide additional service to and from the event.

T.T.C. service to and from the east end of the event will be through the Manitoba Drive/Strachan Avenue area of Exhibition Place and it will stop at Strachan Avenue/Fleet Street, to enable any passengers attending the parklands on the south side of Lake Shore Boulevard West to exit at this location.

ONTARIO PLACE PARKING ACCESS

Access to Ontario Place will be restricted to Staff and Service vehicles only through Remembrance Drive at 649 Lake Shore Boulevard West., west of Bathurst Street. Vehicles exiting Ontario Place will do so at the same location.

Holiday on-street parking enforcement

Toronto Police Service Parking Enforcement will not be enforcing the following on-street parking bylaws during the civic holiday on Monday, August 6, 2018:

• Pay-and-Display/Metered Areas
• Rush-Hour Routes
• Posted signs indicating Monday to Friday regulations

All other areas and parking offences will continue to be enforced.

Barry Strangeways, 42, was last seen on Friday August 3, 2018, at 3 p.m., near the intersection of Rockford Road and Bathurst Street.

He is described as 5’7", 155 lbs., with a slim build, blue eyes, clean shaven, and balding, short brown hair. There is no clothing description at this time.

Domingos Carvalho, 78, was last seen on Friday, August 3, 2018, at approximately 8:30 p.m., in the Jane Street and St. Clair Avenue West area.

He is described as 5’7”, 140 lbs., with a receding hair line. There is no clothing description at this time.

He was last seen driving a Red Ford Focus with Ontario licence plate BKTS 199 and is possibly in the Chatham-Kent area.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Public assistance sought in Aggravated Assault investigation, Canadian National Exhibition, Princes' Boulevard and Ontario Drive area

The Toronto Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance with an Aggravated Assault investigation which occurred on the Canadian National Exhibition grounds.

It is reported that:

- on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at 7:43 p.m., a man was in the area of Princes' Boulevard and Ontario Drive near BMO Field, when he was approached by three unknown men

- the unknown men assaulted the man, punching him about the body, causing him to lose consciousness

- the man was taken to hospital, where he received treatment for severe head injuries
