Assistance sought identifying man in Sexual Assault investigation, Bathurst Street and Steeles Avenue West area, Update, Further complaints, security camera video of man released, Police concerned there may be other victims

The Toronto Police Service is seeking assistance identifying a man wanted in a Sexual Assault investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at approximately 4:45 p.m., near the intersection of Bathurst Street and Steeles Avenue West, a 37-year-old woman was in the elevator

- a man got on the same elevator at the ground floor

- the man and woman engaged in conversation

- the man said she needed a blessing

- the man followed the woman to her apartment

- the man advised she needed to be cleansed of her ex-husband

- he sexually assaulted the woman inside her apartment

The man is described as 6'0", long brown beard, long brown side curls, and glasses. The man speaks Hebrew and English. He was wearing black shoes, black pants, long black trench/dress coat, with a white-collared shirt underneath, and a large brimmed hat.

Since the news release on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, two new complaints have been reported.

It is further reported that:

- on Monday, May 22, 2017, at approximately 11:30 p.m., in the Bathurst Street and Steeles Avenue West area, a 27-year-old woman was walking to her residence, along York Hill Boulevard in Thornhill

- a man approached the woman and asked if he could bless her

- the woman refused

- the man then assaulted the woman, offering another blessing

- the woman refused and continued walking

- the man followed the woman up to her residence

- the family dog began barking and the man left


It is further reported that:

- on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at approximately 4 p.m., a 38-year-old woman was in her residence in the Bathurst Street and Steeles Avenue West area

- a man knocked on her door

- the man asked if he could give the woman a blessing as he walked into her entryway

- the man sexually assaulted the woman inside her apartment

A security camera video of the man has been released and can be viewed on YouTube.

Police are concerned there may be other victims.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting assistance identifying two men wanted in a Theft Under investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Friday, February 10, 2017, at 1:35 a.m., two men entered a bar in the Queen Street West and McCaul Street area

- they sat down at a table

- the men took a purse from a neighbouring table when the owner got up to use the washroom

- the men then left the bar with the purse

Police request assistance with Aggravated Assault investigation, Bloor Street West and Devonshire Place area, Two men arrested, at least three suspects outstanding

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an Aggravated Assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

- on Saturday , June 17, 2017, at 2:24 a.m., a man got into a physical altercation with a group of males in the Bloor Street West and Devonshire Place area

- the group attacked the man, punching and kicking him about the body, before they fled

- police and paramedics were called and the man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries

Later in the morning, on Saturday, June 17, 2017, Wesley Beck, 20, of Toronto, was arrested. He has been charged with:

1) Aggravated Assault
2) Assault with a Weapon

Adam Zamani, 20, of Toronto, was also arrested, He has been charged with:

1) Aggravated Assault

Both are scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Sunday, June 18, 2017, courtroom 101.

At least three suspects are still outstanding.

Investigators are requesting the assistance of any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police or anyone who may have video of the incident.

Man, 21, arrested in Sexual Assault investigation, Lawrence Avenue West and Dufferin Street area

The Toronto Police Service would like to advise the public of an arrest in a Sexual Assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

- during the early morning hours of Friday, June 16, 2017, a woman was with a man in his apartment in the Lawrence Avenue West and Dufferin Street area

- another man, his roommate, entered the apartment

- when the man stepped out of the room, the roommate sexually assaulted the woman

- the incident was reported to police

On Friday, June 16, 2017, Luis Pereira, 21, of Toronto, was arrested. He has been charged with:

1) Sexual Assault

He is scheduled to appear in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West, on Saturday, July 27, 2017, 1 p.m.

Man arrested in Fraud investigation involving Home Depot stores throughout GTA, Jefferey Wilson, 42, facing 19 charges, Police concerned there may be other victims, Man's photograph released

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in an ongoing Fraud investigation involving several Home Depot stores.

Since May 2017, there has been a series of high-end Frauds and Thefts at several Home Depot stores throughout the GTA.

It is alleged that:

- a man attended various Home Depot stores throughout the GTA

- in each instance, he would remove a price label from a Weber Q1000 BBQ valued at $219.99 and place it on a Weber Genesis valued at $1599

- he then purchased the higher valued BBQ for $219.99 with a fraudulently obtained Home Depot gift card

- the man would then post the BBQs for sale on online classified ad sites

On Friday, June 16, 2017, Jefferey Wilson, 42, of Toronto, was arrested. He has been charged with:

1) 18 counts of Fraud Under $5000
2) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

He was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Saturday, June, 17, 2017, 10 a.m.

His photograph has been released, as well as another from Home Deport security camera footage of a man for identification who was reportedly working with Jefferey Wilson.

Police are concerned there may be other victims.

Personal injury collision #33/2017, Martin Grove Road, south of Silverstone Drive

On Friday, June 16, 2017, at 9:01 p.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collision at Martin Grove Road, south of Silverstone Drive.

It is reported that:

- a boy, 10, was walking on the sidewalk on the west side of Martin Grove Road, south of Silverstone Drive

- a man, 74, was driving a Chrysler 300, southbound on Martin Grove Road, south of Silverstone Drive

- the boy attempted to cross Martin Grove Road, from the west side to the east side, and was struck by the southbound vehicle

The boy was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a quantity of stolen medication.

It is reported that:

- on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at approximately 11:30 p.m., four full bottles and two empty bottles of methadone were stolen from a bag left on the platform at the GO Station at 213 Main Street.

This can be harmful and not should be handled and/or ingested.

Man, 31, faces eight firearms charges, Woodbine Avenue and Mortimer Avenue area, Loaded firearm seized

On Friday, June 16, 2017, the Toronto Police Service received a call for a Person with a Gun in the Woodbine Avenue and Mortimer Avenue area.

It is alleged that:

- in the early evening hours of Friday, June 16, 2017, a man drove to meet friends in the Woodbine Avenue and Mortimer Avenue area

- once at the location, the man exited his motor vehicle carrying a grey-and-black bag

- an altercation occurred between the man and his two friends

- the man then removed a firearm from inside the bag he was carrying and fired one shot into the air

- during a scuffle, the man was overpowered and disarmed by his friends, and held until police arrived

- the man was arrested without incident and officers recovered a loaded .22 calibre firearm

Ervis Bocka, 31, of Scarborough, has been charged with:

1. Possession of a Restricted Firearm without holding a Licence
2. Possession of a Restricted Firearm knowingly not holding a Licence and Registration Certificate
3. Use/Handle/Store Firearm Carelessly
4. Careless Storage of Ammunition
5. Possession of a Loaded Restricted Firearm
6. Discharge Firearm into a place reckless to others
7. Weapons Dangerous
8. Carry Concealed Weapon

He is scheduled to appear in court at College Park on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, room 507.

Assistance sought identifying man in bus dispute, Queen Street West and Augusta Avenue area, Security camera images of man released

The Toronto Police Service is requesting assistance identifying a man involved in a dispute with a passenger on a TTC bus.

It is reported that:

- on Friday, June 16, 2017, at approximately 1 p.m., a man was involved in a dispute on eastbound Queen Street TTC bus #7474, in the Queen Street West and Augusta Avenue area

Police would like to speak with this man.

He is described as 25-29, 5'6", heavy build, with short brown hair and a goatee. He was last seen wearing a Blue Jays-themed bucket-style hat, white Blue Jays jersey, dark-blue shorts and white-and-black running shoes.

Man, 20, facing 13 charges in investigation into four robberies

Toronto Police Service Hold Up would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a retail robbery investigation involving three west-end stores and one Peel region location.

It is alleged that:

- on Friday, June 16, 2017, at 9:40 a.m., a man armed with a knife entered a convenience store in the Bloor Street West and Mill Road area

- he covered his lower face with a T-shirt and made a demand for money

- he went behind the counter and removed a quantity of cigarettes

- he put the property in a plastic bag he brought with him and fled


It is further alleged that:

- on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, the same man entered a kitchen store in the Martin Grove Road and Burnhamthorpe Road area

- he approached a customer, displayed a butcher's-style knife, and obtained money from her

- after obtaining money, the man held onto the customer's wrist, pointed the butcher's knife towards the store owner, and demanded money

- a second male was standing watch in the doorway and stopped a customer from entering during the robbery


It is further alleged that:

- on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, the man entered a Love Shop in the Dundas Street East and Dixie Road area in Mississauga

- he entered the store wearing an alien-style mask and displayed a butcher knife while confronting the victim and demanding cash

- he fled after obtaining cash and other property


It is further alleged that:

- on Sunday, May 14, 2017, two men entered a smoke shop in the Bloor Street West and Prince Edward Drive area

- their faces were concealed by masks

- the first man pointed a knife at the victims and forced them away from the counter

- the second man was given the knife and kept control of the victims while the first man stole cash and property

- shortly after the robbery on Friday, June 16, 2017, members of 22 Division located the man and arrested him for that robbery

Hold Up was notified, officers investigated the man, and charged him with the various robberies.

Hatim Abdullahi, 20, of Mississauga, was arrested and charged with:

1) four counts of Robbery Use Offensive Weapon
2) four counts of Disguise with Intent
3) four counts of Possession Weapon
4) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

He appeared in court at Old City Hall on Saturday, June 17, 2017, 10 a.m., room 111.

Hold Up is asking for assistance identifying the second male, who is described as black, 18-20, 5'7"–5'10".

Sexual Assault Alert, Ala Al Safi, 27, faces two charges of Aggravated Sexual Assault, Police concerned there may be other victims

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a Sexual Assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

- a man was diagnosed with HIV in February 2011

- he met a 24-year-old man in July 2011

- they met via an online classified personal ad and engaged in an intimate relationship

On Monday, April 10, 2017, Ala Al Safi, now 27, of Toronto, was charged with:

1) Aggravated Sexual Assault


It is further alleged that:

- the same man met a 21-year-old man in December 2016

- they met on an online dating website and engaged in an intimate relationship

- on both encounters, the man failed to disclose his HIV status. As a result, both victims were diagnosed with HIV.

Ala Al Safi, 27, of Toronto, was arrested on Monday, June 19, 2017, and charged with:

1) Aggravated Sexual Assault

He appeared in court at College Park on Monday, June 19, 2017, 10 a.m., room 501.

Police are concerned there may be other victims

It is reported that:

- on Saturday, June 19, 2017, at approximately 11 a.m., a 27-year-old woman was in the Shuter Street and Sherbourne Street area

- she was sexually assaulted by a man

- the man was last seen walking west on Shuter Street

He is described as black, 18-20, 5'6"-5'8", 150 lbs., muscular build, dark short hair with slight facial stubble. He was described as having a round baby-looking face, wearing a red T-shirt, black jeans. He was carrying a dark-coloured backpack

Missing boy, Lake Shore Boulevard West and Mimico Avenue area, Jordan Carter, 11

The Toronto Police Service is requesting assistance locating a missing boy.

Jordan Carter, 11, was last seen at approximately 8 p.m., on Friday, June 16, 2017, in the Lake Shore Boulevard West and Mimico Avenue area.

He is described as 4’9”, thin build, with short black hair. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, black-and-white shorts, carrying a black backpack.

Jordan is comfortable travelling alone on the TTC.

Police are concerned for his safety.
