Man wanted in Sexual Assault investigation, York Mills Road/Leslie Street area, Security camera images of suspect car released

The Toronto Police Service is seeking assistance identifying a man wanted in a Sexual Assault investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at approximately 11:45 a.m., a 17-year-old girl was walking in the York Mills Road/Leslie Street area

- a man in a car approached her, engaged her in conversation, and offered her a ride

- when the girl declined, the man got out of the car, physically took control of the girl, and forced her in to the car

- the man then sexually assaulted the girl

- the girl managed to escape, then reported the incident

The man is described as white, in his 20s, 5'7", with dirty blonde hair. He was wearing a multi-coloured buttoned-up plaid shirt and blue jeans.

Security camera images of the car are now available.

Fatal collision #20/2017, Leslie Street, near Corning Road

On Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at 6:57 p.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collision at Leslie Street and Corning Road.

It is reported that:

- a man, 30, was driving 2004 Suzuki motorcycle, northbound on Leslie Street near Corning Road

- a man, 46, was driving a 2001 Jeep, exiting a private driveway on the west side of Leslie Street

- as the vehicle exited the driveway, the vehicle struck the northbound motorcycle

The 30-year-old man was taken to hospital where he was pronounced.

Missing man, Dundas Street East and Berkeley Street, Thomas Anthony Bergin, 83

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a missing man.

Thomas Anthony Bergin, 83, was last seen on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at approximately 6 p.m., in the Dundas Street East and Berkeley Street area.

He is described as 5'8”, with a medium build, short white hair, and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing beige pants, a burgundy sweater, and a dress shirt. He may also be wearing a knee-length, "windbreaker" style jacket, which is greyish/green in colour.

Police are concerned for his safety.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a missing man.

Fernando Pinho was last seen in the Dufferin Street and Eglinton Avenue West area.

He is described as 5’6”, with a thin build, and a white moustache. He is believed to be wearing a dark green jacket, with blue jeans, and a dark grey or black "Ascot" cap. He is possibly walking with a cane.

Police are concerned for his safety.

On Sunday, April 30, 2017, at 1 p.m., the 2017 Khalsa Day Parade will be held. As a result, the following road closures will take place all, or part of, the day:

- westbound, Lake Shore Boulevard, full closure
- northbound, York Street, University Avenue, northbound lanes

Motorists can expect delays in the area and should consider alternate methods of transportation.

The TTC may experience delays.

The parade will take place regardless of weather conditions.

On Sunday, April 30, 2017, the 6th annual Balanse Bum Run event is scheduled to take place from 8 a.m. until approximately 10 a.m.

This event is a 5-km run/walk event.

Formation area - Queen's Park Legislature Building

Southbound - Queen's Park Crescent West (east curb lane)
Westbound - College Street (north curb lane)
Northbound - Spadina Avenue (east curb lane)
Eastbound - Bloor Street West (south curb lane)
Southbound - Bay Street (west curb lane)
Westbound - St. Joseph Street (north curb lane)
Northbound - Queen's Park Crescent East
Southbound - Queen's Park Crescent West

Dispersal - Queen's Park Legislature Building

Road closures:
Queen's Park Crescent East and Queen's Park Crescent West will be closed from approximately 7 a.m. until 10 a.m., between College Street and Bloor Street West

TTC:
Bus routes on Avenue Road and Wellesley Street will be using modified routes to accommodate this run.

The event will take place regardless of weather conditions. Motorists are advised that there may be delays in the area, and should consider alternate routes.

Wanted Federal Inmate, Trevor Moore, 34

The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (R.O.P.E.) Squad is requesting the public's assistance locating a federal offender wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant for allegedly breaching parole.

Trevor Moore is described as 34, 6'4", 249 lbs., he has a tattoo on the left side of his neck, a full sleeve tattoo on his left arm and a picture of the Devil tattooed on his right upper arm.

He is currently serving a 2 year and 7 month sentence for Possession For The Purpose Of Trafficking a Narcotic and Possession of Property Obtained By Crime.

He is known to frequent the Toronto area. He is considered violent. If he is seen, do not approach, immediately contact police.

Arrest made in Child Pornography investigation, Sergio Vargas Illanes, 30, faces four charges

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest made in a child pornography investigation.

It is alleged that:

- a man possessed and made available child sexual abuse material

On Thursday, April 27, 2017, the Toronto Police Service Child Exploitation Section executed a search warrant in the Keele Street/Lawrence Avenue West area.

Sergio Vargas Illanes, 30, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1) two counts of Possession of Child Pornography
2) Access Child Pornography
3) Distribute Child Pornography

He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at 2201 Finch Avenue West, at 2 p.m, in courtroom 206.

On Friday, April 28, 2017, Muhammad Shahid, 31, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

1) Sexual Assault
2) Forcible Confinement

He appeared in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West, on Friday April 28, 2017, 10 a.m., room 306.

Public Safety Alert, Indecent Acts

The Toronto Police Service would like the public's assistance identifying a man wanted for indecent acts.

It was reported that:

- on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at approximately 8:30 a.m., a 12-year-old girl was walking through the Glen Stewart Park on her way to school

- a man was observed committing an indecent act

The man was described as white, approximately 60 years old, with salt and pepper hair, a long beard, and was wearing khaki pants and an orange reflective vest.


It was also reported that:

- on Monday, April 24, 2017, at approximately 8:15 a.m., a 15-year-old girl was standing at Queen Street East and Caroline Avenue

- a man was observed committing an indecent act

The man was described as white, approximately 5'11", with grey hair and a moustache, and wearing a yellow and green safety vest.


It was also reported that:

- on Friday, April 21, 2017, at approximately 3:30 p.m., a 17-year-old girl was walking near Kingston Road and Malvern Avenue

- a man was observed committing an indecent act

He was described as white, approximately 60-years-old, heavy build, with grey messy hair and a grey beard, and was wearing an olive jacket.


Police are requesting any residents or businesses with surveillance cameras in the area to view the footage and contact police with any results.

Public Assistance sought in Criminal Harassment investigation, Security video of man available

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance with a criminal harassment investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, shortly after 7:45 a.m., a 13-year-old girl was walking her dog in the Lawrence Avenue/Mount Pleasant Road area

- a man began to follow her

- concerned for her own safety, the girl returned home walking through her backyard

- she then informed her mother of the incident

- the man ran into the backyard after the girl and was confronted by her mother

- the man left

The man is described as white, 20 to 25, with brown hair, and a goatee. He was wearing a black hoodie with white on the front, and black pants.

On Tuesday, April 25, 2017, Kaganeswaran Kuganes Yoganayagam, 28, of Toronto, surrendered to police. He is charged with:

1) Sexual Assault
2) Criminal Harassment

He appeared in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at 10 a.m., room 412.

Police believe there may be other victims.

Wanted federal inmate, Elliott Sullivan, 36

The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (R.O.P.E.) Squad is requesting the public’s assistance locating a Federal Offender, wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant for allegedly breaching parole.

Elliott Sullivan, 36, is described as 5’6”, 125 lbs., with a slim build, hazel eyes, short, brown hair. He has several tattoos, including a spider on his left hand, a cross on his left forearm, and barbed wire on his right wrist.

He is serving a 4-year sentence for Weapons Trafficking, Aggravated Assault, Break and Enter, Uttering Death Threats, Theft Under $5000, Fail to Comply with Undertaking, and Fail to Appear.

He is known to frequent the Sudbury, Timmins, Toronto, London and Kingston areas. Sullivan was last seen in the Sudbury area, operating a brown, 2006 Ford Escape SUV, bearing Ontario Licence BWAZ 689.

Anyone having contact with him should use caution and contact 911.
