Alexandra "Ally" Rose Finch, 14, was last seen on Monday, January 16, 2017, at 3 p.m., in the Don Mills Road and Lawrence Avenue East area.

She is described as 5’5”, slim build, 110 lbs., brown eyes, brown straight hair.

Police are concerned for her safety.

TPS Financial Crimes advises online caution, Specific concerns about two upcoming conferences

Toronto Police Service Financial Crimes is often asked by the public to investigate suspicious websites. Not all such sites are fraudulent, but it is important for the public to be careful when asked for personal information or advance payments.

Recently TPS Financial Crimes was asked to look at a conference website advertising the 7th International Conference on Dementia Care & Practice

The conference is also associated with the 4th International Conference on Brain Disorders and Brain Injury

Both conferences are to take place from Monday, August 14, 2017 to Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at the Holiday Inn Toronto International Airport at 970 Dixon Road.

It is reported that:

- police contacted the the website registration phone number for enquiries

- when advised it was the police, the spokesperson hung up

- the other toll-free number listed to register is not a valid phone number

- the hotel has confirmed that there are no such bookings for either conference at their location

- police contacted members of the "organizing committee," listed on the website and were advised that they are not involved in the conference

- the photographs have been taken from other internet sources and the biographies listed are not accurate

At this time, it cannot be confirmed that this website or these conferences are involved in any criminal activity however, police feel it necessary to educate the public about potential sources of online fraudulent behaviour.

When members of the public see advertising, promotions or other such enrollments through the Internet and on social media, they should always exercise extreme caution.

Police encourage the public to check the sources, or other listed references and do not send any "pre-registration" funds unless completely satisfied all available due diligence has been completed.

If you have any concerns about a suspicious website like this one, contact and report it to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.

Two men sought in home-invasion Robbery, Security camera images released

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance identifying two men wanted for a home-invasion Robbery investigation.

On Saturday, November 26, 2016, at 1:42 a.m., officers responded to a call for a robbery in an apartment at 1950 Kennedy Road.

It is reported that:

- the apartment was being used for prostitution

- two men, posing as customers, entered the apartment armed with two handguns and a knife

- they demanded money from three people in the apartment

- two of the people were bound with zip ties and pistol-whipped

- a quantity of money was turned over to the suspects

- police attended the apartment building and heard a gunshot from inside
the apartment

- the two suspects were able to scale down the outside balcony and evade capture

Suspect #1 is described as Asian, 25-35, 5'11", skinny build with short black hair.

Suspect #2 is described as Asian, 35-40, 5'7" - 5'9", medium build, wearing metal-framed glasses.

These men are considered armed and dangerous. If located, do not approach. Call 9-1-1 immediately.

Man charged with Uttering Threats and Assault, Police seek victim of Assault

The Toronto Police Service is appealing to the victim of an assault to contact investigators.

On Monday, December 5, 2016, at approximately 6 p.m., officers responded to a call for a trespasser in the Queen Street East and Yonge Street area.

It is alleged that:

- a man entered the building

- he became very aggressive with people inside

- he made death threats to security when he was asked to leave

- as he left, he pushed a passerby with such force that the man fell into the roadway

On Tuesday, December 6, 2016, Johnathan Rushford, 26, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1) Uttering Threats
2) Assault
3) Obstruct Police
4) Fail to Comply Probation

He appeared in court at College Park on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, 10 a.m., room 501.

It is believed that the man who was pushed into traffic may have suffered a serious injury. Investigators would like to identify and speak with him.

A security camera video of the incident is released.

Sexual Assault Alert, King Street West and Peter Street area, Assistance sought identifying man in Sexual Assault investigation, Security camera image released

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance identifying a man wanted in a Sexual Assault investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Sunday, January 1, 2017, at approximately 3 a.m., a 33-year-old woman was in the King Street West and Peter Street area

- a man approached the women and offered her a ride home

- she entered the passenger seat of the car and was sexually assaulted by the man

The man is described as 5'5", 180-200 lbs., wearing a black-and-white sweater, jeans, and dark shoes.

A security camera image of the man has been released.

Two men face 34 charges in Robbery investigation

The Toronto Police Service would like to update the public on two arrests in an ongoing Robbery investigation.

It is alleged that:

- there was a series of robberies between Friday, January 6, 2017 and Thursday, January 19, 2017.

- two men, wearing disguises, entered the premises and approached the victim at the pharmacy counter

- the men made a demand for specific narcotics and painkillers.

- one suspect went behind the counter and obtained the drugs while the second suspect stayed on the customer side

- the suspects physically assaulted and threatened the victims during the robberies

- the suspects obtained a selection of narcotics which they put in a bag and
fled.

The locations targeted by the two men were:

1) Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at 1723 Lawrence Avenue East (2017/110814)

2) Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at 1180 Victoria Park Avenue(2017/110766)

3) Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at 501 Pharmacy Avenue (2017/110505)

4) Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at 2466 Eglinton Avenue East (2017/65476)

5) Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at 2555 Eglinton Avenue East (2017/58417)

6) Friday, January 6, 2017, at 1908 Gerrard Street East (2017/32763)

Two men have been arrested.

Jason Lewis, 43, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) six counts of Robbery with violence
2) six counts of Disguise with intent
3) three counts of Fail to comply with a recognizance
4) Possession of property obtained by crime under
5) three counts of Possession of schedule I substance


Daniel Lavigne, 46, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) six counts of Robbery with Violence
2) six counts of Disguise with Intent
3) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
4) two counts of Possession of Schedule I substance

The two men were scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Thursday, January 19, 2017, 10a.m., room 103.

On Friday, January 20, 2017, from 10a.m. to noon, 41 Division's “Coffee with a Cop” event will take place at McDonald’s at 85 Ellesmere Road.

Officers from 41 Division will attend and sit down with community members in an informal, neutral space to discuss community issues, build relationships and drink coffee.

This event is relaxed, informal and open for discussions about the issues community residents feel are important.

"Coffee with a Cop" breaks down barriers and allows for a relaxed, one-on-one interaction. The program aims to advance the practice of community policing through improving relationships between police officers and community members one cup of coffee at a time.

Assistance sought with Robbery investigation, Ossington Avenue and Halton Street area

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance identifying a man wanted in a Robbery investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Monday, January 16, 2017, at approximately 7:20 p.m., a woman was walking in the Ossington Avenue and Halton Street area

- she was approached by a man who threatened to stab her, and demanded she hand over her backpack to him

- the woman complied and handed over the backpack to the man, who was then seen getting into the passenger side of a waiting vehicle

- the man and the unknown driver were last seen in the vehicle, fleeing northbound on Ossington Avenue, then westbound on Roylat Street, driving in the wrong direction

The man is described as white, approximately 5’3", 18-21, with a fair skin tone, unshaven, thick eyebrows, wearing a grey bomber-style, winter coat, with a light-brown fur hood, dark-blue jeans, with blue-and-white sneakers.

The vehicle he fled in is described as a blue, older-model, four-door car, which appeared modified with a loud exhaust system, dark tinted windows and possibly a lowered suspension.
