The Toronto Police Service would like to update the public on two arrests in an ongoing Robbery investigation.
It is alleged that:
- there was a series of robberies between Friday, January 6, 2017 and Thursday, January 19, 2017.
- two men, wearing disguises, entered the premises and approached the victim at the pharmacy counter
- the men made a demand for specific narcotics and painkillers.
- one suspect went behind the counter and obtained the drugs while the second suspect stayed on the customer side
- the suspects physically assaulted and threatened the victims during the robberies
- the suspects obtained a selection of narcotics which they put in a bag and
fled.
The locations targeted by the two men were:
1) Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at
1723 Lawrence Avenue East (2017/110814)
2) Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at
1180 Victoria Park Avenue(2017/110766)
3) Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at
501 Pharmacy Avenue (2017/110505)
4) Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at
2466 Eglinton Avenue East (2017/65476)
5) Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at
2555 Eglinton Avenue East (2017/58417)
6) Friday, January 6, 2017, at
1908 Gerrard Street East (2017/32763)
Two men have been arrested.
Jason Lewis, 43, of Toronto, has been charged with:
1) six counts of Robbery with violence
2) six counts of Disguise with intent
3) three counts of Fail to comply with a recognizance
4) Possession of property obtained by crime under
5) three counts of Possession of schedule I substance
Daniel Lavigne, 46, of Toronto, has been charged with:
1) six counts of Robbery with Violence
2) six counts of Disguise with Intent
3) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
4) two counts of Possession of Schedule I substance
The two men were scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Thursday, January 19, 2017, 10a.m., room 103.
