Missing boy located, Birchmount Road and Danforth Road area, Christopher Szabo, 14


Personal injury collision #67/2016, Lawrence Avenue East, west of Don Mills Road, 44-year-old man facing charges

On Monday, October 31, 2016, at 8:35 p.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collision at Lawrence Avenue East, west of Don Mills Road.

It is alleged that:

- a 44-year-old man was driving a Honda, westbound on Lawrence Avenue East, near Don Mills Road

-a 35-year-old man was driving a Hyundai, westbound on Lawrence Avenue East, west of Don Mills Road

- the Honda struck the Hyundai, the Hyundai then struck a Volkswagen

- the Honda left the roadway, mounted the curb on the north side of Lawrence Avenue East, and struck three pedestrians on the sidewalk

The pedestrians received various levels of injury and were taken to hospital.

It is further alleged that:

- the driver of the Honda has been identified as Yung Cheung Chow, 44, of Markham

He has been charged with:

1) Criminal negligence cause bodily harm
2) Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle cause bodily harm

He is scheduled to appear in court at on 1000 Finch Avenue West, on Thursday, December 15, 2016, 1:30 p.m., courtroom 301.

Police seek assistance identifying man wanted in Robbery investigation, 110 George Street, Security camera image of wanted man released

The Toronto Police Service is seeking the public's assistance identifying a man wanted in a Robbery investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, police received a radio call to attend 110 George Street

- an advertisement was placed on Craigslist for the sale of a ring

- a 40-year-old man responded to the advertisement and provided his home address to the seller

- the seller attended the man's home

- the seller assaulted and robbed the man

Police are requesting the public's assistance identifying this man.

A security camera image of this man has been released.

It is reported that:

- on Friday, October 28, 2016, between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m., a man met a woman in front of a pharmacy in the Warden Avenue and Lawrence Avenue East area

- they went to his house

- he sexually assaulted her

On Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at 9:50 p.m., Jeffrey Allen Peever, 56, of Toronto, was arrested. He was charged with:

1) Criminal Harassment
2) eight counts of Fail to Comply
3) Prowl by Night

He was scheduled to appear in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East on Wednesday, November 2, 2016, room 412, 10 a.m.

Public Safety Alert, Dishwashing pods placed in trick-or-treat bags

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a quantity of dishwashing pods that were placed into children's trick-or-treat bags.

It was reported that:

- on Monday, October 31, 2016, in the evening, children were trick-or-treating with their parents in the Prescott Avenue, Blackthorn Avenue and Rockwell Avenue areas

- upon returning home, dishwashing pods were discovered in the children's bags

The pods could be harmful, if ingested, especially to children. If swallowed, detergent in even small amounts can be caustic and cause burns to the mouth, throat and airways.

The Toronto Police Service is seeking the public's assistance locating a man in an Attempt Murder investigation.

It is alleged that:

- on Sunday, October 2, 2016, at 2:55 a.m., two groups of men were in the Jane Street/Lawrence Avenue West area

- a verbal confrontation ensued between the two groups

- one man from one group then stabbed a 35-year-old man from the other group

- the man has been identified as Corey Stephens, 29, of Toronto.

He is wanted for:

1) Attempt Murder
2) Robbery with a Weapon
3) Assault with a Weapon
4) Weapons Dangerous
5) Carry Concealed Weapon
6) Fail to Comply with Recognizance

His photograph is released.

Toronto Police Services Board Chair Andy Pringle and Toronto Police Service Superintendent Frank Bergen will be hosting a community consultation session on Saturday, November 5, 2016, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., at City Hall, at 100 Queen Street West.

Members of the public are encouraged to read the Transformational Task Force Interim Report, in particular the report's 24 recommendations. The report can be seen here.

The session will include remarks from the Chair and the Superintendent and break-out tables designed to get the public's input on the future of policing. The consultation session will also be streamed live on Facebook and YouTube.

Members of the public are also encouraged to submit their thoughts via the online portal at The Way Forward - Have Your Say.

Police seek assistance identifying man found at Sheppard subway station, Photograph released

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance identifying a man.

On Friday, October 14, 2016, at approximately 7:30 p.m., an unidentified man was taken to hospital from Sheppard subway station.

The man is described as approximately 60-80, 5'8", 165 lbs., balding hairline and a grey goatee. He has a surgical scar on his abdomen, consistent with an appendectomy.

He was wearing a grey T-shirt, a red cardigan, grey/black pants and brown shoes. He did not have any identification on him.

Police need to identify this man. The Toronto Police Service is requesting assistance identifying two men involved in a Break-and-Enter investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Sunday, October 30, 2016, at approximately 11:55 p.m., at Agincourt Mall, 3850 Sheppard Avenue East, two men gained access to the mall by forcing open an external door

- the men forced their way into the WIND Mobile store

- the men took a quantity of cell phones

The men are described as white, 30-40. They were wearing dark clothing, gloves and carrying backpacks or duffel bags.

Security camera images have been released.

Man sought in Assault and Sexual Assault investigation, Dundas Street East and River Street, Update, Composite sketch and vehicle security camera image released

The Toronto Police Service is seeking assistance identifying a man wanted in an Assault and Sexual Assault investigation in the Dundas Street East and River Street area.

On Monday, October 17, 2016, in the evening, officers were conducting a community patrol when they were asked to attend to an injured woman.

See previous release.

The man is described as early 40s, bald, clean-shaven.

He was driving a white 2007-2009 Acura MDX Tech Package SUV.

A composite sketch as well as a security camera image of his vehicle have been released.

Police believe the man to be violent and dangerous. If located, do not approach. Call 9-1-1 immediately.
