2015 Greek Ohi Day Parade road closures, Sunday, October 25, 2015, 1 p.m., Danforth Avenue, from Donlands Avenue to Broadview Avenue

On Sunday, October 25, 2015, at 1 p.m., the 2015 Greek Ohi Day Parade will take place. Road closures will be in place for all or part of the day.

The parade will follow the route of:

- northbound, Euston Avenue from Donlands Avenue, full closure
- westbound, Danforth Avenue from Donlands Avenue to Broadview Avenue, full closure

The parade will end at Broadview Avenue at approximately 3 p.m.

Motorists can expect delays in the area and should consider alternate methods of transportation. The TTC may experience delays. The parade will take place regardless of weather conditions.

Attempted abduction of boy, 9, Thorneclifffe Park Drive and Overlea Boulevard area, Update, Security camera video of Person of Interest released

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a Person of Interest involved in the attempted abduction of a nine-year-old boy.

On Tuesday, October 13, 2015, between 8:35 and 8:55 a.m., a nine-year-old boy was walking to school in the Thorncliffe Park Drive and Overlea Boulevard area.

Security camera video of a Person of Interest has been released. The Person of Interest has a distinct walk. If anyone recognizes this person, please contact police.

Public assistance sought identifying two male suspects wanted in two violent Robberies, Security camera images of the two men released

The Toronto Police Service is requesting public assistance identifying two male suspects involved in two violent Robberies.

On Thursday, July 30, 2015, at approximately 3 p.m., officers responded to a call for a robbery in the McDonald's restaurant parking lot at 5453 Dundas Street West.

It is reported that:

- a 31-year-old man had placed an ad on Kijiji to sell his Nike Air Jordan shoes

- he was contacted and a meeting was arranged

- he was met by two men who examined the shoes

- he was viciously attacked with metal batons, about the head and body

- the shoes were stolen

The first suspect is described as 18, 6' - 6'2", with a skinny build, large lower lip, and distinct gap between front upper teeth. He was wearing a white bucket cap with dark-blue rim, red T-shirt, black or navy-blue Adidas sweatpants with three stripes down the entire pant leg, white socks, and dark running shoes with white soles.

The second suspect is described as 18, approximately 6', with a skinny build and short black curly hair. He was wearing a blue long-sleeved shirt, buttoned up with white buttons, a white T-shirt with a multi-coloured image (predominantly blue), light-grey Roots sweatpants with a Roots logo on the upper left thigh, and white running shoes with white soles.

It is further reported that:

- on Sunday, October 11, 2015, at approximately 2:15 a.m., the same men were involved in a stabbing at the Petro Canada gas station at 3380 Dixie Road in Mississauga

- the victim was stabbed in the chest and received life-threatening injuries

The two men are considered armed and dangerous. If you see them, do not approach. Call 9-1-1.

Man arrested in Break-and-Enter investigation, Main Street/Danforth Avenue area, Patrick Platt, 45, faces three charges, Police believe there may be other victims

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a Break-and-Enter investigation.

It is alleged that:

- on Monday, October 19, 2015, a man broke into several homes in the Main Street/Danforth Avenue area

- in each case, the man forced either the front or rear door open to gain entry

- the man then stole money

On Thursday, October 22, 2015, Patrick Platt, 45, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1) three counts of Break-and-Enter - Commit
2) Break and Enter - Intent
3) Fail to Comply with Probation

He was scheduled to appear in court at College Park on Friday, October 23, 2015, 10 a.m., courtroom 507.

Police believe there may be other victims.

Mark Anthony Lovelace, 33, of Toronto, is wanted on a Warrant for:

4) Intimidation – Brantford Police

He is described as 5’10”, 180 lbs., with black hair, brown eyes, and a large facial birthmark.

Man, 21, charged in Robbery investigation

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a Robbery investigation.

It is alleged that:

- on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at 5:15 p.m., a man entered a retail store in the Jane Street/Woolner Avenue area

- the man loitered until most of the patrons had left, then approached the cashier

- armed with a firearm, he made a demand for cash, then fled

Officers searched the area and, following an investigation, arrested the man.

Carlos Barbosa Silva, 21, of Toronto, is charged with:

1) Robbery with a Weapon

He appeared in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West on Thursday, October 22, 2015, 10 a.m., courtroom 206.

Kazimierz Lacz, 76, was last seen on Friday, October 23, 2015, at 12 p.m., walking in the Roncesvalles Avenue and Galley Avenue area.

He is described as 5'9", 140 lbs., slim build, with blue eyes, grey short hair, balding on top, and clean-shaven. He was last seen wearing a navy-blue jacket with a zipper and white design on the back, green pants, burgundy baseball hat, and brown shoes.

Police are concerned for his safety.

On Friday, October 23, 2015, at 4:29 p.m., a 15-year-old girl was walking in the Empringham Drive and Sewells Road area.

It is reported that:

- she was approached by an unknown man

- he exposed himself, then sexually assaulted her

- he fled the area

He is described as brown, 17-20, 5’8”, 140-150 lbs., medium build, black hair, wearing a light-grey hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans and carrying a black backpack.

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an incident that prompts police to remind residents to take reasonable safety precautions.

On Sunday, October 25, 2015, at 3:50 a.m., a woman was asleep in her ground-floor apartment in the Thorncliffe Park Drive and Overlea Boulevard area.

It is reported that:

- a man entered the woman's apartment through an unlocked patio door

- the woman awoke to find the man standing in her bedroom holding a knife

- the man put the knife to the woman's neck

- he put his finger to his lips indicating that she should be quiet

- the man fled the apartment through the front door when he heard children from another residence awaken

He is described as brown, late-30s, 5'6", with a thin build. He was wearing a dark leather jacket, and a scarf around his neck. He is also described as having "big eyes."

Police are advising people to be vigilant in ensuring that their homes are properly secured at all times.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a wanted man.

Andrew Felix Hunt, 31, of Brampton, is wanted on a Warrant for:

1) Aggravated Assault
2) Careless Use of a Firearm
3) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
4) Point Firearm

He is described as 5'9", 180 lbs., with brown hair and blue eyes. He has a tribal tattoo on the back of his neck and a tattoo of barbed wire on his right bicep. He is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. If you see him, call 9-1-1 immediately.

Personal injury collision #51/2015, Keele Street at Donald Avenue

On Friday, October 23, 2015, at 2:37 p.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collision at Keele Street at Donald Avenue.

It is reported that:

- a 77-year-old man was crossing Keele Street, on the south side of Donald Avenue

- a 44-year-old man was driving a 2009 Acura MDX, westbound on Donald Avenue, and was making a left turn to southbound Keele Street

- the pedestrian was struck by the vehicle as the driver made the left turn

The 77-year-old man received life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

Personal injury collision #52/2015, Lawrence Avenue East at Townley Drive

On Sunday, October 25, 2015, at 3:36 p.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collision at Lawrence Avenue East at Townley Drive.

It is reported that:

- a 40-year-old man was driving a 2016 Honda Pilot, eastbound on Lawrence Avenue East, approaching Townley Drive

- three pedestrians were attempting to cross Lawrence Avenue East, east of Townley Drive

- the pedestrians were struck by the vehicle

- the vehicle then left the roadway, mounted the curb on the south side of Lawrence Avenue East, then struck a fourth pedestrian who was standing in a TTC bus shelter

All of the pedestrians were taken to hospital with various levels of non-life-threatening injury.
