Police request help identifying two men wanted for Assault with a Weapon, Yonge Street and Dundas Square area

The Toronto Police Service requests the public's assistance identifying two men wanted in an Assault with a Weapon investigation.

On Saturday, October 3, 2015, at approximately 10 p.m., officers were in the Yonge Street and Dundas Square area responding to a call for a Stabbing and another call for a Person with a Gun.

It is reported that:

- officers had remained in the square, after the investigation of the two calls, to respond to several fights that had broken out

- the officers were surrounded by a large and hostile crowd

- some people began to throw bottles at the officers

- one officer was struck in the hand

- another officer was struck in the head

Investigators have obtained security camera images of the two men. The images are now released.

Missing man located, Burnhamthorpe Road and Renforth Drive, Peter Tasic, 28

Personal injury collision #48/2015 Bayview Avenue, near Scenic Millway

On Friday, October 16, 2015 at 8:09 p.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collision at Bayview Avenue, near Scenic Millway.

It is reported that:

− a 50-year-old man was driving a 2013 Honda Civic, northbound on Bayview Avenue

− a 63-year-old woman was driving a 2004 Hyundai Elantra, southbound on Bayview Avenue

− for reasons not yet determined, the Honda crossed into the southbound lanes of Bayview Avenue, and the vehicles collided

The 63-year-old woman received life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting public assistance locating a missing man.

Michael Kondrashov, 25, was last seen on Friday, October 16, 2015, at 10 p.m., in the Yonge Street /Gerrard Street area.

He is described as 5’11”, 190 lbs., with blue eyes, blonde hair, and wears glasses.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Traffic disruptions in the downtown core

The Toronto Blue Jays are hosting the Kansas City Royals at the Rogers Centre on Monday, October 19, 2015, for the American League Championship Series, for game 3.

It is anticipated nearly 50,000 people will attend the game. Road closures will be in effect at the end of the game to assist with the safe exit of pedestrians and motorists leaving the area:

- Blue Jays Way will have a partial road closure, for southbound traffic, from Front Street West to Navy Wharf

- Bremner Boulevard will have a partial road closure, for eastbound traffic, from Spadina Avenue to Rees Street

- Bremner Boulevard will have a full road closure, for eastbound traffic, from Rees Street to Lower Simcoe

- Bremner Boulevard will have a full road closure, for westbound traffic, from Lower Simcoe to Navy Wharf

Due to these road restrictions and closures, traffic disruptions will occur within the downtown core.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public to:

- make use of alternate routes to your destination

- utilize public transit

- car-pool where possible

- consider avoiding the area of the Rogers Centre, if not attending the game

- extend courtesy to all while travelling

- give yourself lots of extra time

Missing man, Richmond Street West and Bathurst Street area, Geoffrey Ruby, 51

Geoffrey Ruby, 51, was last seen on Saturday, October 17, 2015, at approximately 12:22 a.m., in the Bathurst Street and Richmond Street West area.

He is described as white, 5'11", 170 lbs., with short brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing dark jeans, black sweater, and leather shoes with a dragon design.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Missing woman, Clearview Heights and Trethewey Drive Priscilla Washington, 25

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a missing woman.

On Sunday, October 18, 2015, at 1:25 p.m., Priscilla Washington, 25, was last seen in the Clearview Heights and Trethewey Drive area.

She is described as black, 5’11”, heavy build, with shoulder-length black hair. She was last seen wearing eyeglasses, three earrings in each ear, black sweatpants, black hooded sweatshirt, purple and black running shoes, and a multi-colour purse.

Priscilla Washington is believed to be driving a 2014, 4-door Mitsubishi Lancer, with Ontario licence plate BSCX 455.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Vehicle stopped for speeding, Gun, drugs, and money seized, Man arrested

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest and seizure.

It is alleged that:

- on Sunday, October 18, 2015, at approximately 12:50 a.m., Traffic Services officers observed a car, speeding northbound, on the Don Valley Parkway

- officers pulled the car over as it exited onto Don Mills Road

- the driver falsely identified himself with a driver's licence that did not belong to him

The driver was arrested for Failing to Identify.

It is alleged that the following was seized, with the assistance of 54 Division and Guns & Gangs, following the arrest:

- a quantity of cocaine

- $1,780 cash

- a Sig Sauer P226, loaded with eight bullets, and a ninth chambered

Paul Bonnick, 23, of Toronto, is charged with:

1) Speeding
2) Fail to Identify
3) Obstruct Peace Officer
4) Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
5) Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime
6) Fail to Comply with Recognizance
7) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
8) Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
9) Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
10) Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Serial Number has been Tampered
11) Possession of a Firearm Obtained by the Commission of an Offence
12) Careless Storage of a Firearm
13) Careless Storage of Ammunition
14) Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order

He was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall, on Monday, October 19, 2015, in courtroom 101, at 10 a.m.

Arrest in Human Trafficking investigation, Devone Nolan, 27, faces five charges, Police believe there may be more victims

On Friday, October 16, 2015, the Toronto Police Service Human Trafficking Enforcement Team conducted an investigation.

It is alleged that:

- an 18-year-old woman was contacted on Instagram by a man

- they both agreed to meet at a hotel in the Greater Toronto Area

- upon arriving at the hotel, the woman met a woman and four men who discussed working as a sex trade worker as a way to make money

- the woman was exploited and worked in the sex trade for them for a period of four months between December 2014 and March 2015.

- the woman was passed around between the group of people and transported from hotel to hotel

- the woman was not allowed to keep all of her earnings

- the woman was constantly monitored and was threatened by the group of people if they did not approve of her behaviour or associations with others.

On April 29, 2015, the woman contacted police and a warrant was issued for Devone Nolan, 27, of Toronto.

He was arrested on Friday, October 16, 2015, and charged with:

1. Trafficking in Persons by Recruiting
2. Financial/Material Benefit Trafficking Person Over 18
3. Procuring/Exercising Control
4. Material Benefit from Sexual Services
5. Uttering threats

He was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Saturday, October 17, 2015, at 10 a.m.

Police believe that there may be more victims.

Arrest in apartment Break-and-Enter Investigation, Jeptha Hankey, 36, faces 19 charges

The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of an arrest in an apartment Break-and-Enter investigation.

On Sunday, October 18, 2015, 54 Division's Major Crime Unit conducted surveillance on two apartment buildings in the area of Broadview Avenue and Danforth Avenue.

It is alleged that :

- a man was seen entering an apartment building

- the man forced the exterior apartment door open to gain entry into the building

- the man then pried open an apartment door

- the man then took multiple items out of the apartment

- the man exited the building

Jeptha Hankey, 36, of Toronto, was arrested and has been charged with:

1. 11 counts of Break-and-Enter Commit
2. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
3. Possession of Burglary Tools
4. four counts of Break and Enter Commit
5. two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation

At the time of arrest he was allegedly found in possession of a pry bar, two laptops and a quantity of jewelry.

Man charged with Attempt Murder and eight other charges, Tajuddin Shahabuddin, 24

On Monday, October 19, 2015, at 11:30 p.m., Toronto Police Service officers from 55 Division responded to a radio call of a shooting in the Dundas Street East and Greenwood Avenue area.

It is alleged that:

- a dispute took place between two men inside a residence

- a 48-year-old man was shot

- the man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries

Tajuddin Shahabuddin, 24, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1. Attempt Murder
2. Conspiracy to Commit Murder
3. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
4. Use of Firearm in Commission of Indictable Offence
5. Careless Use of Firearm
6. Pointing a Firearm
7. Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession Unauthorized
8. Possession of a Prohibited Firearm
9. Weapons Dangerous

He was scheduled to appear in court at College Park on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, 10 a.m.

Police are seeking the public's assistance locating an man involved in this shooting. He is described as having an olive complexion, 6'3", aged 30. He is considered armed and dangerous.

Public assistance sought identifying shoplifter, Security camera image of suspect released

The Toronto Police Service is seeking the public's assistance identifying a woman wanted for shoplifting.

It is reported that:

- on Friday, October 16, 2015, at approximately 11 a.m., a woman stole a $2,300 purse from the Jimmy Choo store at Yorkdale Mall

- on Monday, October 19, 2015, at approximately 11:25 a.m., the same woman stole a $1,500 wallet from the same store

The woman is described as 35 - 45, with a medium build and dark hair. She was wearing a black shirt, blue pants, and a beige coat.

Man charged in Sexual Assault investigation, Muhammad Damani, 67, faces two charges, Police believe there may be other victims

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an ongoing Sexual Assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

- on the evening of Friday, October 9, 2015, a nine-year-old boy attended the home of a man for a tutoring session

- during the session, the boy was sexually assaulted

On Tuesday, October 20, 2015, the Sex Crimes Child & Youth Advocacy Centre arrested Muhammad Damani, 67, of Toronto. He is charged with:

1) Sexual Assault
2) Sexual Interference

He was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, courtroom 101.

Muhammad Damani had operated a tutoring service out of his home in the Thorncliffe Park area for the past two years.

Police believe there may be other victims.

Missing woman, Yonge Street and Finch Avenue West area, Ok-Ja Kim, 57

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance locating a missing woman.

Ok-Ja Kim, 57, was last seen on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at 2 p.m., in the Yonge Street and Finch Avenue West area.

She is described as 5'3", medium build, with shoulder-length black hair. She was last seen wearing a black jacket, grey pants, and was carrying a black bag. She is known to walk with a distinct limp.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Public assistance sought with Attempt Murder investigation, Bathurst Street/Richmond Street West, Security camera video of two wanted men released

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance identifying two men wanted in an Attempt Murder investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Friday, June 26, 2015, at approximately 4:30 a.m., a man was in the elevators of his building in the Bathurst Street/Richmond Street West area, on his way home

- as the elevator doors opened, two men entered and began assaulting him with hammers, continuing into the hallway

- the men obtained the man's keys and forced him into his own apartment, continuing the assault, where he was choked and threatened

- the men were eventually scared off by a neighbour

- the men left with a number of items belonging to the man

Security camera video of two wanted men is now available.
