Missing girl, Darlene Caldwell, 16

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance locating a missing girl.

Darlene Caldwell, 16, was last seen on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at 8:30 a.m., in the West Shore Boulevard and Bayly Street, area in Pickering.

She is described as 5'4", 110 lbs., thin build, with blue eyes and shoulder-length brown hair.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Toronto Crime Stoppers revisits “Cookin’ With Molly” for summer rave season

To coincide with the summer rave season, Toronto Crime Stoppers has re-issued its “Cookin’ With Molly” campaign.

Last year, in response to drug-related deaths and hospitalizations of young people, Toronto Crime Stoppers partnered with DDB Canada, Toronto, on an awareness campaign.

The video and posters are intended to remind young people of the dangers that come with the illicit drug use that is often associated with rave-type events.

Man arrested for Possession of Child Pornography, Robbie Assick, 37, Police believe there may be other victims

On Thursday, May 21, 2015, members of the Toronto Police Sex Crimes Child Exploitation Section executed a search warrant in the Markham Road and Eglinton Avenue East area.

It is alleged that:

- a man was accessing and saving child sexual abuse images and videos

On Thursday, July 23, 2015, Robbie Assick, 37, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1) two counts of Possession Child Pornography
2) Access Child Pornography

Police believe there may be other victims.

Media advisory, Tuesday, August 4, 2015, 10 a.m., Headquarters, media gallery, Launch of TPS Mobile App

On Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at 10 a.m., in the media gallery at headquarters, Chief Mark Saunders, along with Deputy Chief Peter Sloly, members of the TPS App development team and MobilePD, the app developer, will be present to launch the TPS Mobile App, provide a demonstration of the features and answer any questions.

The mobile app will be available on Android and iOS platforms in its initial launch, followed by BlackBerry and Windows in the coming weeks. The app provides victim/witness support to the public through the ability to receive push notifications, file certain reports online, access crime prevention information, locate police stations and several additional mobile optimized features.

The news conference will be available on the TOC and will be live-streamed.

On Monday, August 3, 2015, at approximately 1:45 a.m., officers responded to an unknown trouble call at 135 Rose Avenue .

Officers arrived and found a deceased man inside the apartment.

The identity of the man is not being released, pending notification of next of kin.

Arrest in series of bank robberies, Ivan McManus, 37, facing seven charges

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a series of financial institution robberies.

It is alleged that:

- on Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at 6:05 p.m., a man entered the Bank of Montreal 382 Yonge Street

- a man approached a bank teller

- he presented a note indicating he was armed and made a demand for money

- the bank teller complied and the man fled the scene

It is further alleged that:

- on Thursday, July 23, 2015, at 10:15 a.m., a man entered the Scotia Bank, 332 Bloor Street West

- a man approached a bank teller

- he presented a note indicating he was armed and made a demand for money

- the bank teller complied and the man fled the scene

It is further alleged that:

- on Friday, July 24, 2015, at 11:25 a.m., a man entered the Scotia Bank, 2553 Danforth Avenue

- a man approached a bank teller

- he presented a note indicating he was armed and made a demand for money

- the bank teller complied and the man fled the scene

It is further alleged that:

- on Friday, July 24, 2015, at 12 p.m., a man entered the CIBC, 1000 Gerrard Street East

- a man approached a bank teller

- he presented a note indicating he was armed and made a demand for money

- the bank teller complied and the man fled the scene

It is further alleged that:

- on Saturday, July 25, 2015, at 12 p.m., a man entered the CIBC, 1164 St Clair Avenue West

- a man approached a bank teller

- he presented a note indicating he was armed and made a demand for money

- the bank teller complied and the man fled the scene

It is further alleged that:

- on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at 9:45 a.m., a man entered the Royal Bank, 155 Wellington Street West

- a man approached a bank teller

- he presented a note indicating he was armed and made a demand for money

- the bank teller complied and the man fled the scene

It is further alleged that:

- on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at 1:45 p.m., a man entered the TD Bank, 2440 Bloor Street West

- a man approached a bank teller

- indicating he was armed and made a demand for money

- he obtained a quantity of money before fleeing to the subway system

- Toronto Police Service Transit Officers observed the man on a subway train passing through Bay station

- the officers quickly shut down the power on the system

On Wednesday, July 29, 2015, the man was arrested by the Transit Officers and subsequently investigated by Hold Up.

Ivan McManus, 37, no fixed address, was charged with:

1) seven counts of Robbery

He appeared in court at Old City Hall on Thursday, July 30, 2015, 10 a.m., room 101.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance locating a missing boy.

Suhrab Farhat, 15, was last seen on Monday, August 3, 2015 at 1 p.m. in the Dufresne Court and Grenoble Drive area.

He is described as 5'6"-5'7", 125-130 lbs., light complexion, skinny build, brown eyes with short, spikey, straight black hair. He was last seen wearing a light-blue T-shirt and blue jean shorts.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Police request assistance with violent Robbery investigation, Midland Avenue and Sheppard Avenue East, Two men wanted, Security camera images of one man released

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance identifying a man wanted for a violent Robbery.

It is reported that:

- on Sunday, July 26, 2015, at approximately 9:15 p.m., a woman and a young child attended a bank in the Midland Avenue and Sheppard Avenue East area

- the woman finished depositing money into the bank machine and was approached by two unknown men

- one of the men asked the victim how to use a debit card

- he then demanded her wallet

- the woman refused and the man grabbed her by her throat

- she then handed him her purse

- the two men fled the scene

The men are described as:

Suspect 1: white, 45-50, 5'8", thin build, grey short hair, and goatee. He was wearing a long-sleeved dress shirt and beige pants. Security camera images of this man have been released.

Suspect 2: brown, 20-30, 5'8", heavy build, with short or shaved hair. He was wearing a black hat, black shirt, black pants, and carrying a black duffel bag.

Homicides #29/2015 and #30/2015, Muzik, 15 Saskatchewan Road, and just north of the Dufferin Gates, Police create website for public to post images or video related to two homicides

In the early hours of Tuesday, August 4, 2015, officers were at Muzik, 15 Saskatchewan Road, for a large event. There was a crowd of several thousand patrons. At approximately 3:25 a.m., as the club was shutting down, multiple gunshots were fired both inside the club and outside. Officers discovered a man inside the club and a woman, just north of the Dufferin Gates, who died of apparent gunshot injuries.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have images or video related to this incident to send them to police. Click here to upload images or video.

Man wanted for Mischief, Break-&-Enter, Assault with Weapon, Uttering Threats, Forcible Confinement and Mischief, Robert Vanderveer, 20

14 Division is searching for Robert Vanderveer, 20, of Toronto.

It is alleged that:

- on Saturday, July 18, 2015, a man attended 170 Vanauley Walk

- the man proceeded to the second floor and attempted to break the glass door of the building to gain entry

- the man then waited and followed a 26-year-old woman inside the building

- once inside, the man kicked in a woman's apartment door and forced his way in

- the man put the woman in a headlock and held a knife to her neck

- the man threatened the woman

- the man searched the apartment and damaged property inside the apartment, when the woman escaped

He is wanted on the strength of a Warrant for:

1) Mischief
2) Break-&-Enter
3) Assault with Weapon
4) Uttering Threats
5) Forcible Confinement
6) Mischief

He is described as 6'5", 180 lbs., with red hair, brown eyes and facial hair.

Police warn that he is considered violent. If located do not approach. Call 9-1-1.

Sexual Assault Alert, Police request assistance with Sexual Assault Investigation, Hwy 27 and Humber College Blvd area

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an ongoing Sexual Assault investigation in the Hwy 27 and Humber College Boulevard area.

It is reported that:

- on Sunday, August 2, 2015, at approximately 5 p.m., a 17-year-old girl was walking northbound on the west side of Hwy 27, in the area of Humber College Boulevard

- the girl was approached by two unknown men

- she was threatened and pulled into a nearby ravine where she was sexually assaulted by both men

Suspect # 1 is described as mid-30s, 5'7", muscular build, black, dark complexion, brown eyes, short black hair (some grey), clean-shaven, round face with large eyebrows, large lips and large nose. He was wearing a white short-sleeved T-shirt, baggy blue jeans frayed at the cuff, white Nike shoes, a silver chain around his neck, and a brown leather (1-inch wide) wristband on the left wrist.

Suspect #2 is described as early-20s, 6'1", thinner build than suspect #1, black, dark complexion, short black hair, clean-shaven, round face with a crooked or broken nose. He was wearing a black T-shirt with a faded Adidas logo on the front, blue jeans and black shoes.

Taste of the Danforth, Friday, August 7, 2015 to Sunday, August 9, 2015, Road closures

From Friday, August 7, 2015, to Sunday, August 9, 2015, the Greektown on the Danforth BIA will host the 2015 Taste of the Danforth.

Road closures will be in effect from Friday, August 7, 2015 at 11 a.m., to Monday, August 10, 2015, at 2 a.m.

Road closures:
- Danforth Avenue (full road) to Broadview Avenue to Jones Avenue
- all intersections 30 metres north and south (full road) from Broadview Avenue to Jones Avenue

TTC will reroute bus service on Pape Avenue.
Pape station will remain open to buses on Friday, August 8, 2015 until 6 p.m.

On Saturday, August, 8, 2015, after 6 p.m., all buses from Pape station will be rerouted to Donlands station.

Motorists are advised to consider the road closure when planning their travels.

The event will proceed regardless of weather conditions.

He is wanted for:

1) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
2) Possession of Heroin for Purpose of Trafficking
3) Possession of Cocaine for Purpose of Trafficking
4) Possession Proceeds of Crime

He is described as 5’9”, 175 lbs., with brown hair and blue eyes.

Personal injury collision #36/2015, Keele Street, near Maple Leaf Drive

On Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 11:36 a.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collision at Keele Street, near Maple Leaf Drive .

It is reported that:

- an 88-year-old man was driving a 2005 Toyota Corolla, northbound on Keele Street, approaching Maple Leaf Drive

- a 36-year-old man was driving a 1996 Mack cement truck, northbound on Keele Street, and had stopped to make a left turn to westbound Maple Leaf Drive

- the Toyota struck the truck and subsequently went out of control, coming to a rest on the east side of Keele Street

The 88-year-old man received life-threatening injuries and an 80-year-old woman, a passenger in the Corolla, received non-life-threatening injuries. Both were taken to hospital.
