On Saturday, July 4, 2015, the Toronto Pan American Torch Relay returned to Toronto. The torch arrived in Toronto on Saturday, May 30, 2015, and has since been moving through celebration sites across the province. On Monday, July 6, 2015, the torch relay will continue in Toronto.
Rolling lane closures will be in effect as the torch-bearers move through Toronto streets. The rolling lane closures will begin at 10:30 a.m. after the event at S.H. Armstrong Community Recreation Centre at 60 Woodfield Road.
The torch relay is scheduled to make the following stops at celebration sites:
- S.H. Armstrong Community Centre, 60 Woodfield Road, from 9:20 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
- Regent Park Aquatic Centre, 640 Dundas Street East, from 11:09 a.m. to 11:14 a.m.
- East York Civic Centre, 850 Coxwell Avenue, from 12:07 p.m. to 12:31p.m.
- Thorncliffe Library, 48 Thorncliffe Park Drive, from 12:50 p.m. to 12:55p.m.
- Ontario Science Centre, 770 Don Mills Road, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Ontario Place West Channel, 851 Lakeshore Boulevard, from 2:45 a.m. to 4:27 p.m.
This stop will also include the CNE and Fort York
- CIBC Branch, 1582 The Queensway, from 5:42 p.m. to 5:47 p.m.
- Humber College - Lakeshore Campus, 3199 Lakeshore Boulevard, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
There will be portions of the route where the torch will be moved in a vehicle convoy. The portion of the route where the torch is carried will require lane closures. These rolling lane closures will include:
- southbound on Woodfield Drive to Queen Street East
- westbound Queen Street East to Broadview Avenue
- northbound on Broadview Avenue to Dundas Street East
- westbound Dundas Street East to 640 Dundas Street East (Regent Park Aquatic Centre)
- westbound Queen Street East to Parliament Street
- northbound Parliament Street to Gerrard Street East
- northbound from Millwood/ Leaside Bridge To Overlea Boulevard
- eastbound on Overlea Boulevard to Thorncliffe Park Drive
- southbound to 48 Thorncliffe Park Drive (Thorncliffe Library)
- northbound on Thorncliffe Drive to Overlea Boulevard
- eastbound Overlea Boulevard to Don Mills Road
- northbound Don Mills Road to Gateway Boulevard
- eastbound to Gateway Boulevard to Grenoble Drive
- northbound then Eastbound on Grenoble Drive to Deauville Lane
- northbound on Deauville Lane to St. Dennis Drive
- westbound St. Dennis Drive to Don Mills Road
- northbound Colborne Lodge Road from Centre Road to Bloor Street West
- westbound Queensway Avenue from Royal York Road to Atomic Avenue
- southbound Brown’s Line from Evan’s Avenue to Lakeshore Boulevard
- eastbound Lakeshore Boulevard to 3199 Lakeshore Boulevard (Humber College)
All rolling lane closures will be a single lane and motorists are asked to show additional caution along the route.
