Attempt Murder, Flamborough Drive and Keele Street

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an attempt murder investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Sunday, June 14, 2015, at 12:30 a.m., a 41-year-old man was walking on Flamborough Drive, west of Keele Street

- the man was approached by another man who stabbed him multiple times

- the man was seen fleeing southbound on Keele Street in a black Dodge Charger

The man is described as Hispanic, 5'7", 210 lbs., and approximately 30 years of age.

Public Safety Alert, Nighttime Break and Enters

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of recent nighttime break and enters.

It is reported that:

- on Saturday, June 13, 2015, between the hours of 12 a.m. and 6 a.m., in the area of Royal York Road and Dundas Street West, a man entered two residences

- on one occasion he was confronted by a home owner within the residence before he fled

The man is described as black, approximately 6', and wearing a dark shirt.

Police are asking the public to contact police immediately if they see anything in a residential area that appears to be suspicious.

Police are also asking residents to ensure they secure their home, even while they are out for short periods of time.

Fatal collision #30/2015, Gardiner Expressway at Royal York Road

On Saturday, June 13, 2015, at approximately 3 a.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collision at westbound Gardiner Expressway and Royal York Road.

It is reported that:

- a 23-year-old man was driving an Infiniti G35 westbound on the Gardiner Expressway, approaching Royal York Road

- for reasons not yet determined, the driver lost control of the vehicle, leaving the roadway and striking a light standard,

- as a result of the impact, the vehicle was split in two and the driver was ejected from the vehicle

The man received fatal injuries and was pronounced on scene.

William Shawn McCann, 49, was last seen on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at 11:05 a.m., in the Morningside Avenue and Old Finch Avenue area.

He is described as white, 5'6", 160 lbs., with short black hair. He was last seen wearing a black bomber-style jacket, blue jeans, running shoes with green sides, grey baseball hat with “Quad” logo on front, and carrying a black leather briefcase with “Hydro One” insignia on the front.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Public Safety Alert, Stolen truck carrying explosives

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a stolen truck investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Sunday, June 14, 2015, a truck was parked near New Toronto Street/Kipling Avenue

- some time between 4:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., the truck was stolen

The truck is described as a white, 2005, GMC cab-forward, roll-off truck, carrying a white cube, with Ontario licence plate AK54132.

The cube contained theatrical pyrotechnics and explosives which should only be handled by qualified professionals.

If the truck is located, do not approach, but call 9-1-1.

The Toronto Police would like to thank the public for their assistance and co-operation. The dog belonging to Sabrina Chouart and Clyde Marshall has been located.

It has been reported that:

- an abandoned dog was brought into Toronto Animal Services in the Islington Avenue and Dundas Street West area

- the dog had been tied to a post and left alone

It is believed that both Sabrina Chouart and Clyde Marshall have been travelling without the dog since the early morning hours of Saturday, June 13, 2015.

Public assistance sought in theft from auto investigation, Laptop of high sentimental value stolen

The Toronto Police Service is seeking the public's assistance in a theft from auto investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Saturday, June 13, 2015, between 11:15 a.m. and 12:15 p.m., a woman was eating at a restaurant in the St. Clair Avenue West/Dufferin Street area

- the car, a 2012, black, four-door Buick Verano, was parked in the area, on the north side of St. Clair Avenue West,

- someone gained entry to it and stole a silver, woven fabric bag containing the woman's laptop and its related accessories

The laptop contains research, documents, photos, and videos of two of her children. Both children passed away from a degenerative disease. The laptop contains a collection of material for a book documenting their journey.

Items stolen included:

- a 15" MacBook Pro
- a Western Digital hard drive

Arrests made in Distraction Robbery, Couple faces eight counts

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of two arrests made in a distraction robbery investigation.

It is alleged that:

- on Sunday, June 14, 2015, a 75-year-old woman was walking in a parking lot in the Warden Avenue/Finch Avenue East area

- a car, with a male driver and a female passenger, drove towards and approached the woman

- the passenger grabbed the woman by the arm and pulled her towards their car

- the passenger placed two fake gold chains around the woman's neck while engaging her in conversation

- the passenger then removed the fake gold chains, along with the woman's real chain

- the couple then drove away

Through investigation, the couple was identified and located shortly thereafter.

It is further alleged that they committed a fraud in Durham Region.

Comisaru Miclescu and Claudia Miclescu, both 31, of Romania, were arrested. They are each charged with:

1) Robbery
2) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
3) Fraud - Under ($5000)
4) Possession of Proceeds of Crime

They were scheduled to appear in court on Monday, June 15, 2015, at 10 a.m., at College Park Courts, in courtroom 507.

Police believe there may be other victims.

Distraction style robberies often identify vulnerable people wearing jewelry. In some cases, gifts of invaluable jewelry is presented and placed on the victims. After some distracting conversation, the real jewelry will be removed from the victim, leaving the invaluable piece behind.

Arrest made in armed robbery investigation, Vincenzo Della Medaglia, 50, faces two counts

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest made in an armed robbery investigation.

It is alleged that:

- on Saturday, May 16, 2015, at approximately 7:30 p.m., a man entered a convenience store in the King Street East/Church Street area

- he approached the clerk and made a demand for money

- when the clerk did not comply, the man produced a gun and made another demand

- the man fled empty-handed

On Friday, June 12, 2015, officers investigated a man matching the description. He was subsequently arrested.

Vincenzo Della Medaglia, 50, of Toronto, is charged with:

1) Robbery while armed with Firearm
2) Possession of Imitation Weapon

He was scheduled to appear in court on Monday, June 15, 2015, at College Park Court, in courtroom 501.

Man arrested in robbery of variety store, Joshua Charlebois, 33, faces four counts

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest made in a robbery investigation.

It is alleged that:

- on Friday, June 12, 2015, at approximately 9:30 p.m., a man entered a convenience store with a bandana masking his face

- armed with a knife, the man approached the clerk and made a demand for money

- the man fled after obtaining money

Responding officers searched and located the man emerging from a nearby ravine.

Joshua Charlebois, 33, of Burlington, is charged with:

1) Robbery
2) Disguise with Intent
3) Weapons Dangerous
4) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

He was scheduled to appear in court on Monday, June 15, 2015, at College Park Court, in courtroom 501.
