On Sunday, April 27, 2014, at 1 p.m., in the main lobby of Police Headquarters, 40 College Street, 79 members of the community will be recognized for unselfish acts of bravery, courage and assistance to the Toronto Police Service.

The presentations will be made by Alok Mukherjee, Chair of the Toronto Police Services Board and Acting Chief of Police Mike Federico.

Media scrum, Saturday, April 26, 2014, at 1 p.m., Ledbury Community Centre, 146 Ledbury Street, Police warn the public about a series of break-ins

On Saturday, April 26, 2014, at 1 p.m., officers from 32 Division would like to invite the media to a scrum at the Ledbury Community Centre, located at 146 Ledbury Street.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance solving a rash of Break-and-Enters in the area bounded by Highway 401 to Eglinton Avenue and Avenue Road to Bayview Avenue .

Officers will be providing heightened patrols in this neighbourhood. They will be handing out crime prevention pamphlets and encouraging the use of Crime Stoppers as a tool to help solve these cases.

Officers will be delivering their message door-to-door and to people walking in the neighbourhood. The community command post will be utilized and the community is invited to come by for helpful crime prevention tips.

Arrest made after search warrant executed, Man faces 11 charges

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest made.

On Thursday, April 24, 2014, at approximately 9:10 a.m., a search warrant was executed at a Toronto address.

As a result of the investigation and search warrants executed, the following property was seized:

-a large quantity of marijuana and crystal methamphetamine,
-three submachine gun replicas
-four pistol replicas
-two crossbows
-large quantity of cash

Kurt Domingue, 29, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1) Possession of a Schedule I Substance C.D.S.A 4(1)
2) Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking C.D.S.A 5(2)
3) Possession a Schedule II Substance C.D.S.A 4(1)
4) Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking C.D.S.A 5(2)
5) Possession of Proceeds of Crime C.C. 354 (1)
6) Carry Concealed Weapon C.C. 90(1)
7) Fail to Comply with Recognizance x5 C.C. 145(3)

He is scheduled to appear at Old City Hall Court on Friday, April 25, 2014.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance locating a missing man.

Avard Snyder, 94, was last seen on Sunday, April 27, 2014, at 7:30 a.m. in the Bayview Avenue/Eglinton Avenue East area.

He is described as white, 5'6", 170 lbs., with short white hair, and blue eyes. He was wearing a black short-sleeved shirt, black pants, grey shoes, a grey winter coat and a black hat.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Rahima Hashuri, 82, was last seen on Sunday, April 27, 2014, at 5 p.m., in the Victoria Park Avenue/Danforth Avenue area.

She is described as brown with a fair complexion, 5'3", 150 lbs., with long, grey, braided hair. She was wearing a white sweater, a dress with blue-and-purple flower patterns and white pants.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Ana Ferrufino, 47, was last seen on Saturday, April 26, 2014, at 9 p.m., in the Jane Street/Emmett Avenue area.

She is described as Hispanic, 5'5", 145 lbs., with long, straight, black hair. She was last seen wearing a long, black, hooded cloth jacket with beige trim, a black T-shirt with gold flowers on the front, black stretch pants, long black knee-high boots, and was carrying a black, brown and green Coach purse with gold straps.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Public Safety Alert, Stolen medication, Main Street/Danforth Avenue area

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a quantity of stolen medication.

On Friday, April 25, 2014, between 3 a.m. and 10 a.m., the following medication was stolen in the Main Street/ Danforth Avenue area:

- a container of OxyContin
- a container of Clonazepam

The pills could be harmful/fatal if ingested, especially to children.

The Toronto Police Service is continuing to seek the public's assistance locating two people wanted in a kidnapping and aggravated-assault investigation.

See previous release.

On Friday, April 25, 2014, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Elanna Marki, 40, of Toronto, was arrested in a home in Ottawa by the Ottawa Police Service. She is charged with:

1) Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence
2) five counts of Assault with a Weapon
3) two counts of Aggravated Assault
4) Forcible Confinement
5) Kidnapping
6) Overcome Resistance to Commission of Offence

The Toronto Police Service would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance.

John Brown, 44, of Pickering, is still outstanding and is believed to be armed and dangerous. If he is located, do not approach, but call 9-1-1 immediately.

Man arrested, Courtney Carter, 23, Faces eight charges including Disarming Police Officer

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a threatening-death investigation.

It is alleged that:

- on Thursday, April 24, 2014, just before midnight, a man knocked on a random neighbour's door, in the Weston Road/Humber Road North area, and threatened the neighbour through the closed door

- when the neighbour refused to answer, the man attacked the door with a knife

- the neighbour called police but the man was gone when police arrived

- just after midnight, police responded to the same apartment building for an unknown trouble where it was reported a man was screaming

- when police located where the screaming was coming from, they knocked on the door to investigate

- a man, believed to be the same man who threatened the neighbour, opened the door

- when police attempted to arrest the man, he grabbed, and attempted to take, the officer's firearm from his holster, without success

- the man then spat at the officers, with the intent of communicating his disease to them, before he was eventually arrested

Courtney Carter, 23, of Toronto, is charged with:

1) two counts of Threatening Death
2) Weapons Dangerous
3) Mischief - Under ($5,000)
4) two counts of Assault Police
5) Disarming a Police officer
6) Assault Causing Bodily Harm

He was scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Monday, April 28, 2014, at 10 a.m.

Man arrested in drug investigation, Kurt Domingue, 29, faces 11 charges

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a drug investigation.

It is alleged that:

- on Thursday, April 24, 2014, at approximately 9 a.m., a search warrant was executed at a home in the Danforth Avenue/Greenwood Avenue area

- large quantities of marijuana and crystal methamphetamine were seized, along with money, three replica submachine guns, four replica pistols and two crossbows

Kurt Domingue, 29, of Toronto, was arrested.

He is charged with:

1) Possession of a Schedule I Substance
2) Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
3) Possession a Schedule II Substance
4) Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
5) Possession of Proceeds of Crime
6) Carry Concealed Weapon
7) five counts of Fail to Comply with Recognizance

He was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall, on Friday, April 26, 2014, at 10 a.m.

Ahmand Hounarmand, 60, was last seen Tuesday April 22, 2014, in the Bathurst Street and St Clair Avenue West area.

He is described as white, 5'8", brown eyes, bushy beard, with shoulder-length grey hair. He walks with a small wheeled cart and is usually carrying bags.

Police are concerned for his safety.
