On Saturday, July 13, 2013 a fire occurred in the of Broadview Avenue and Gerrard Street East area. City engineers are presently determining the structural integrity of the involved buildings. For public safety, the following road closures are being implemented for an undetermined amount of time while officials complete their assessments:
-northbound and southbound traffic on Broadview Avenue from First Avenue to Simpson Avenue
-eastbound and westbound traffic from Hamilton Street to Boulton Avenue
The following TTC routes are also being diverted:
- 504 King streetcar diverting both directions via Dundas Street East and Broadview Avenue
- 505 Dundas streetcar diverting Eastbound via Broadview Avenue and Queen Street East
- 506 Carlton streetcar diverting both directions via Parliament Street Queen Street East and Coxwell Avenue
