Ski Hill Blues is a program initiated and facilitated by police officers. The objective of the program is to provide youth the opportunity to learn a new skill while developing positive relationships with police officers.
Every Monday night, from January 21, 2013 to March 4, 2013, from 6:30-8:30 p.m., at Earl Bales Park, youth and police took to the hills.
On Monday, March 11, 2013, all participants will be invited to the Toronto Police College, 70 Birmingham Street, from 4 p.m., - 6 p.m., for an awards and recognition night.
Ski Hill Blues is funded by Proaction Cops & Kids and Canadian Tire Jumpstart. This program is run in partnership with the City of Toronto and several other community agencies that identify youth for the program.
ProAction is a charity that provides projects and activities, initiated and run by police officers, which engage youth at risk. Their goal is to build trust and respect between cops and youth, helping kids at risk before they become kids in trouble.
