During November 2016, as part of a proactive community-safety initiative, members of 55 Division began searching for people wanted on outstanding warrants. These are people who allegedly re-victimize the public and cause further suffering. This project’s intention is to reduce the victimization as the holiday season approaches. Their efforts led to 30 arrests and 90 charges.

The 55 Division Crime Management team decided to make an official project targeting offenders wanted on warrants and/or breaching their bail conditions.

Project Grinch started on Monday, November, 21, 2016, with information about the project being released to the media and shared on social media. As a result, nine more offenders have been arrested.

55 Division is encouraging people who know, or suspect, they have warrants for their arrest to contact police to have them processed. Officers assigned to Project Grinch will not be on holidays. Offenders will be sought 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

55 Division would like to thank the public for their assistance and information provided to police which led to the arrests.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-5500, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477), online at www.222tips.com, or text TOR and your message to CRIMES (274637). Download the free Crime Stoppers Mobile App on iTunes, Google Play or Blackberry App World.
