On Friday, November 25, 2016, starting at 9:15 a.m., 11 Division, and staff and students of the Carlton Village Junior and Senior Sports and Wellness Academy, will gather on Osler Street, just north of Davenport Road (adjacent to 11 Division Police Station, 2054 Davenport Road, to commemorate the United Nations observance of ending violence against women.
Students will begin the event by adorning boulevard trees with hundreds of orange balloons, streamers, and orange ribbons to “Color the World Orange” in keeping with the UN’s anti-violence movement.
Students and guests will also write chalk messages of hope, courage, perseverance, and optimism along the boulevard sidewalk.
Event speakers include Chief Mark Saunders, 11 Division Unit Commander Superintendent Heinz Kuck, Member of Parliament Julie Dzerowicz, and Carlton Village School Principal Lorelei Eccleston.
