James David Hicks, 76, charged with 1970 Sexual Assault, Police concerned there may be other victims, Photograph of man released

The Toronto Police Service is alerting the public to an arrest in a historical Sexual Assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

- in 1970, a man sexually assaulted a boy

- the man was the boy's elementary school teacher

On Friday, October 21, 2016, James David Hicks, 76, of Sudbury, was arrested by the OPP and transported to Toronto. He was charged with:

1) Sexual Assault on a Person Under 16 Years of Age

He appeared in court at Old City Hall, on Saturday, October 22, 2016, 10 a.m., room 111.

Police are concerned there may be other victims.

James David Hicks was employed as a teacher in Toronto during the 1970s through the 1990s and was also a hockey coach.
